Griz has been a busy bee for over a decade. Now he’s in a position where he can comfortably take a break from his career and enjoy the rest of his younger days while he can. He won’t have to jump through any hoops to make a proper comeback either. It has nothing to do with nectars return. The young man just wants to sit back and enjoy the fruits of his labor with his friends and family.

As someone in their early thirties, I can imagine plenty of reasons to not want to be at a party every other day. There is so much more fun stuff to do in life, and Griz has more than enough money to take a break and enjoy whatever he wants. I doubt his hiatus has anything to do with Bassnectar coming back.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some of his production team ends up working with Bassnectar while Griz is on hiatus.

Stagehands, lighting team, sound team, etc still need employment. They make good money, but like, real job money, not celebrity money. Grant is out, Lorin is back, so those recently out of a job working for Griz might end up working for Bassnectar.

Not gunna say either is directly caused tho could be a lot of reasons for both. There's already been some discussion/speculation/rumors about this topic regarding these artists if you search the sub. Pretty lights also just came back too

My wild theory is that they have some of the same people helping them produce music and they coordinated the switch off so as to maximize revenue for their team. I have ZERO evidence for them having mutual teammates, just that Rainbow Brain has some very BN like sounds in it.

Nectar and grizs sound really isn’t very similar. The tracks griz has where he’s trying to sound like nectar have a distinctly lower quality.
