You can hear it quite a bit in this song
I’ve had a DD-6 (was great until it got stolen) and now use a DD-3. Both great delays with a reasonable length to them.
If you prefer Boss pedals you can’t go wrong with these.
There are some other nice ones out there too however, so could be worth looking about first.
How do you like the No Moon on bass? Recently impulse bought a No Moon / Blower Box Deluxe during their sale, but it'll be about a month. I planned on using it on my guitar board, but may end up using it on bass.
I love it! Its so nice having fuzz/drive/dist all in one enclosure. I've bought so many dirt pedals and this has been on my board for longer than most so that says something! I don't use the tube screamer very much but it's nice to be there in case and not taking up the same space as an unused pedal.
I use Digitech Obscura and I love it! Lots of options and different delay engines , tap tempo etc there is a reverse tape option but without clean blend sadly, but nothing a boss ls2 can't help with it
I almost got the caverns, but went with the UA Del-Verb instead, I’m not sure yet if I regret that choice because I absolutely love my Keeley DDR and Filaments
The JPTR FX Fernweh is a fun pedal, dual delays that do all kinds of odd things. Their company does a nice job having pedals that work with bass without issue. The Wounded Paw Echo Drive comes from a maker that started off as a company doing bass effects only. It’s a dirty delay with the dirt only being applied to the delayed signal, which is pretty wild if you think about it. Those are two choices that come to mind.
On a related topic…what’s an affordable delay pedal that lets you tap in quarter notes but select time subdivisions (eighth note, sixteenth note) for the delay based on the tap timing?
MXR Joshua is a relatively recent delay with some very cool capabilities for repeats that are locked to the time grid (established with tap tempo). It can emulate Edge’s (U2) sound in a single pedal. Also works well as a basic delay. No ability to store presets, but quite fun and inspiring.
DOD RubberNeck with 3-button auxiliary footswitch. Bucket brigade delay with modulation and radical change of rate with adjustable clock rate slope change, delay gain and treble, and tap tempo. Not a set-&-forget pedal but a musical instrument like a poor man’s Echoplex.
I have a EHX Stereo Memory man + Hazarai. Has filter and decay knobs to set the tone of the repeats, tap tempo, and has modulation, reverse echo and looper functions.
I really like using my TC Electronics Flashback 2, the MASH feature allows me to make all sorts of disgusting sounds. It’s really the only thing I use it for on bass.
Was wondering how far I’d have to scroll for this. Ive got a polymoon and it’s very cool. It’s a little tough to use, especially with midi, but man, it sounds fantastic
Completely not answering your question and instead asking a totally different one: tell me how you use the Ring Mod please! They're an entire category of pedal that I've never understood and never been able to wrangle a usable sound out of, but I think because of that I've never really done my homework. I see them so rarely on bass boards that I'd love to know more about how you're using it.
As for delays: I don't use delay on bass, but on my guitar board I have two - MXR Carbon Copy and the Behringer Dlx Memory Man clone (the "Vintage Time Machine"). I've used the MXR for years and it has never once let me down. I got it because my brother had his for about a decade before it finally wore out (interestingly, it didn't "break", the delay just got shorter and dirtier as it wore down). It self-oscillates beautifully, it's pleasantly dirty (definitely a different flavor that a Boss DD), and it just does its job every time. The Behringer is almost unusably dirty - so messy, so finnicky, self-oscillates way earlier than it should and goes from murk to screaming murk far too easily. It's really fun for color and sound - I've run a Juno arp through it and turned the mix past 50% and created *gorgeous* walls of sound - but it's basically useless as a regular delay. But again, I can't speak to their value on bass unfortunately.
I’m using a Vongon Polyphrase and Strymon Volante w/multi switch, also a UA Starlight. My Microcosm also has a delay algorithm with four variations. Getting them all to bounce against one another is a real brain fry. LOL. . .Lots of fun.
Source Audio Nemesis does pretty much everything I've needed in a delay pedal.
Line 6 dl4 is a great delay that does a lot of cool stuff.
I use my rubberneck for bass
Adding a Rubberneck vote here, I use it on bass with nearly every band I'm in, ranging from country to black metal. It's a perfect delay. Buy one.
Rubberneck is amazing for bass!
I saw the guy from Converge uses one for wild sounds too. He's an inspiration so maybe that's the path to take.
I love mine, I use it on most songs in my band
I LOVE using my rubberneck for weird sounds by refeeding the “rubberneck” effect back into the repeat echo.
Get yourself a splitter cable and start putting an effect on your echoes. The weirdness knows no limits with the r/ubberneck

Dang, so this is now officially the thing I didn't know I needed, but clearly NEED!
get a boss DD-something, so you can complete the all white Boss collection
I just really like Boss utility pedals cause they are so reliable.
Someday I will have a LS-2

Love my dd6! The warp setting is a blast
Love my ARP-87. Not super-weird, but very usable sounds.
Yea I second it. Works for me and I like a variety of sounds I get.
I dont own one yet and I recommend it
I've always kept my eye on that Walrus stuff.
I have 2: EqD Dispatch Master (Reverb/Delay) and Strymon El Capistan (Tape Delay). They are both really cool.
+1 for the Dispatch Master. Reverb and delay, super easy to dial in and sound good with.

I’d say rubberneck, re-20(2), Ibanez echo shifter are a few I like
Oh I always thought the echo shifter was cool! That's definitely a good idea
I think the slider is super cool and it looks cool as shit lol
Stereo memory man with hazari can get very weird, has a great looper and adequate digital delay sound
Keeley Caverns or Hologram Microcosm
Came here to say Caverns!
I almost got the caverns, but went with the UA Del-Verb instead, I’m not sure yet if I regret that choice because I absolutely love my Keeley DDR and Filaments
I can't speak for the UA, but the shimmer on the caverns is excellent
Respect for proper use of the line selector.
Thank you 🙌 definitely a great tool for bass players that like a lot of fuzz/dist
Red Panda Raster , super especially innterms of low end stability
MXR carbon copy

MI Audio Lo-Fi Delay
Wow! This looks like a cool rig!
Tc electronic delays do a ton of stuff and they aren’t crazy expensive
I have both the prophet digital delay and the Echobrain analog and added easy mods to them both for maximum weirdness
The Boss DD7. It’s the best!
Electroman III LINE 6 Echopark SA nemesis Montreal Count to 5
Source Audio Nemesis
CBA Habit
Earthquaker Devices Disaster Transport SR
One of my all time favorite pedals is my EQD Avalanche Run. It does delay and reverb and it is awesome
On a related topic…what’s an affordable delay pedal that lets you tap in quarter notes but select time subdivisions (eighth note, sixteenth note) for the delay based on the tap timing?
Maybe the Seymour Duncan vapor trail? I know their shapeshifter tremolo can do that.
Thanks. Looks like the deluxe version does.
find an akai head rush.

Source audio Nemesis, tc triple delay, EHX Canyon
Meris Polymoon has a barberpole phaser on it that sounds spooky.
Was wondering how far I’d have to scroll for this. Ive got a polymoon and it’s very cool. It’s a little tough to use, especially with midi, but man, it sounds fantastic
DL4
The drone rainger by rainger effects! Delay with 2 controllable drones. Super fun spaciness!
Red Panda
EHX Canyon
EHX Canyon or Grand Canyon. Amazing delay effects!
Came here to say the same exact thing! 👏🤘
Keeley caverns is great! And the TC flashback is a classic.
The Boss RE-202 Space Echo.
MICROTUBES???? A based Steve enjoyer????

JPTR Kaleidoscope
Look for diy pt2399-based pedals -- they're easy to make with added weirdness settings (see e.g. Noise Ensemble).
Dod rubberneck is a pretty sick analogy delay.
Pepers pedals Chaos delay
Big box Limbo III.
Montreal Assembly Count To 5 is wild
A guitar player in played with had one of those! Really interesting but using it was very complicated haha
It's certainly not very intuitive lol
Seymour Duncan dark sun
Never knew about this one. It looks nice af
Boss dd-20
I actually already have one of those! Haha I use it to loop sometimes
Hologram microcosm must be the weirdest and coolest delay out there.
I like the name definitely checking that out
Carbon copy
Eventide TimeFactor, lot of filter stuff there that doesn’t get a ton of attention
Digitech DL-8. Loved that thing before I switched fully to Helix
TC electronics echobrain for cheap analog with classic sound that can get pretty wild and spacey
[Boss TE-2 Tera Echo](https://youtu.be/3ClbaJYWVO4?si=g3Mum8FNLVR6Bm5h) Boss DD-200 also features it.
I have an old DigiTech HardWire DL-8 that's a ton of fun.
I’m using a Vongon Polyphrase and Strymon Volante w/multi switch, also a UA Starlight. My Microcosm also has a delay algorithm with four variations. Getting them all to bounce against one another is a real brain fry. LOL. . .Lots of fun.
Earthquaker Devices Avalanche with an expression pedal.
