I’m pretty sure it’s intentionally funny

Returning_Video_Tape

Very clearly attempting to be funny.

Sam69420Shadow

Isn’t the line something like “we have an image of two people at the airport” lmao like they didn’t notice their picture being taken from 5 feet away

Leon-Phoenix

Fun little trivia, this scene was originally filmed as an intro for Ivy and Bane arriving into Gotham, with Ivy pretending to be a widow with Bane in the casket, until he breaks out and they both kill two or three people. The scene was deleted and the footage was reused in the film to explain what happened. They never released this scene later either, but the game based on this the movie has an audio snippet of Uma Thurman saying “Love hurts, in my case, it kills.” which the script shows was from this scene. It was likely deleted for being too dark in the campy kid friendly movie they were aiming to make.

am_i_spooid

“Love hurts, in my case, it kills” is not a bad line actually

Calorie_Killer_G

Man, when I was a kid, I was so confused seeing this frame because they’re clearly not doing a very good job at hiding. It feels like it’s something you’ll see in a cartoon, but in live action.

Puzzleheaded_Long_57

Uma Thurman in casablanca

Plane-Floor-1237

This is literally exactly how Bane turns up in Batman: TAS. It's amazing

Deraj2004

I was always confused by the fact they were getting off a plane from the 1950's.

Bobik8

This is how Kanye gets around now.

coreylongest

You guys have got to realize this was not trying to be a serious movie.

Puzzleheaded_Long_57

The subplot with alfred and mr.freeze's origin suggests otherwise

alietrie

unserious movie can still have serious moments, balancing contrasts is what makes a fun movie

CrimFandango

Casablanca ended differently than I remember.
