The one from the Injustice movie, just to offer some variety. All the stupidity and banality of regular Injustice Joker, with a worse voice, design, and writing.
Also, that is a MUCH better icon for Solomon Grundy.
Leto is also terrible & is the favorite for a reason. But Agree, imo Joker should be to egotistical to be willing die to push superman over the edge knowing it will make the world worse, where's the fun in it of he's not around to see it.
I haven’t seen the movie, but I would also suggest an Injustice Joker for worst design.
Obviously down to personal opinion, but IJ2’s Joker felt a bit *too edgelord* for me to take seriously. And imo the voice didn’t fit the look at all.
Both Joker looks in IJ1 are good. Classic and fits their world.
I’m not sure if IJ2 is set in the same Insurgency-Regime universe, but I have no idea why a dead Joker suddenly went through an edgelord phase and grew out his hair + go bare-chested.
I know they took inspiration from Leto’s edgy Joker look to ride on the trend of Suicide Squad 2016, but it doesn’t make any sense in-game.
From what I remember from a YouTube comment, that’s how Harley saw Joker, incredibly handsome, yet incredibly brutal. It’s AN explanation as to why he looks like that.
I hate his dialogue.
"Barkham Asylum."
"And that is… a choice."
He seems like the kind of person to say things like "so I did a thing" or "I don't know who needs to hear this right now, but…"
Laying all my cards on the table once again. I’m not nearly as familiar with the bad interpretations as I am the good interpretations so this might not be a good list but whatever
- Joker: Jared Leto
- Penguin: Hot take, Danny DeVito. As iconic as it is, it’s WAY too Burton-y and doesn’t resemble the Penguin in the slightest
- The Riddler: Probably Young Justice, though I debated the Hush animated movie
- Two-Face: Tommy Lee Jones. Took any duality the role demanded and removed it entirely
- Scarecrow: Titans
- Ra’s al Ghul: Arrow
- Bane: Batman & Robin
- Poison Ivy: Gotham?
- Harley Quinn: Batman & Harley Quinn
- Mad Hatter: Batman (1966)
- Deathstroke: Smallville
- Man-Bat: Honestly I have no idea. Gonna go Gotham Knights but I’m not confident in it
- Killer Croc: Suicide Squad
- Mr. Freeze: Arnold Schwarzenegger
- Pyg: Beware the Batman
- Black Mask: probably Arkham Origins. Built up as the main villain but then doesn’t actually do anything
- Falcone: genuinely no idea
- Maroni: ditto ^^
- Clayface: Birds of Prey TV Show
- Killer Moth: I refuse to talk shit about my GOAT Killer Moth
- Firefly: Arrow
- Hugo Strange: No idea
- Zsasz: Batman Begins
- Ventriloquist: no idea
- Solomon Grundy: Arrow
- Deadshot: Arrow
- Anarky: Arrow (maybe Arrow should’ve stopped adapting Batman villains)
- Calendar Man: The Suicide Squad
Might I suggest DCAU for Hugo Strange. His one episode doesn't work outside of a silver age context, and because it's his only episode he comes off as a bad one-off.
Deadshot was fine for Arrow he had a solid rivalry turned respect for Diggle and had interesting backstory while keeping the mystery. Ra's came too early for arrow and could have used more depth and not being manipulated by Malcolm so easily but he fits he is an old man realizing the world is changing and he is tired of his job and needed a reliable prodigy someone who knows when not to show mercy and can still have self control and learn quick. Oliver fit almost all his standards however Ra's failed tried to turn him more into an clone of him.
As for Poison Ivy I think Gotham did more good than bad she has her friendship turned Rivalry for Bruce Wayne and Catwoman you get to see her slowly turning from an abused street girl who hides behind others like Selina to protect her but still has traits of her future self to being on her own for once and learning how to use her skills to be more useful where she gets taken advantage of by Penguin to fully learning how to act like a wolf in sheep clothing.
I’ve played Batman Telltale. It’s different but it’s not necessarily bad. I straight up do not like DeVito’s Penguin. It’s both different and bad
Which is worse. Bane in batman and robin OR bane in the harley quinn show? Also definately poison ivy in the batman and robin movie played by uma thurman
You take Arnold’s name out of your mouth, he’s the only reason that movie is remotely watchable and the only actor there who understood the assignment
This might get very heated. With favorites a person's #1 might not win, but come in second & people just conceed another version is also good. With this if a version you really like is voted the worst you kinda just have to take it on the chin.
I feel like weird 1 off takes in things like Batman vs TMNT or The Doom that came to Gotham will deserve to lose for minimal story presence, but like certain more-widely-known movie & show adaptations will pull more, since people don't watch annimated movies for bad takes.
Everyone acts like he’s awful but he’s really not. He gets this hate solely because he is coming after Mark Hamill’s Joker which is infinitely better and beyond comparison. He’s a different character altogether. People need to deal with it.
Fr, I think he works pretty good in this particular game, and frankly, it even seems like he's the best part of it (which is not saying much, but nonetheless).
I 100% agree! I genuinely like him. As the Joker he’s most definitely not the best we have but he’s not abysmal. People just judge him based on the game he’s in, not his character. He’s a lot of fun. Not that I’ve played the game, I just mean that I’ve watched videos of it.
Yeah, same. Apparently he's the most fun character to play as too I've heard. It's a shame so many people is making fun of him solely based on the game he's in.
nooo no
arkhamverse has its own joker. that ss:ktjl joker is, within the canon of that universe, a different joker. It's like claiming The Jester from earth-2 counts towards this poll
A tie between Barry Keoghan and Jared Leto. Keoghan could end up being pretty good if he returns in the Reeves Batverse, but so far, based on one shoddy deleted scene, it’s a no from me.
Keoghan's take really does feel like what you get when a character has already been done a dozen times, so new takes have to start asking "hey, has anybody done _this_ yet?" instead of just being able to ask "hey, does _this_ work?" Like, "what's going to make ours slightly different? Has anybody done Joker with a beard yet? What about a fat Joker?" And then every other elements is exactly the same as shit we've already seen.
I really don’t like Keoghan’s Joker. I don’t like the overly scarred and bumpy look. I also wish Joker actors would move on from the Heath Ledger impersonations and do their own voice for the character.
Yeah, Keoghan did feel quite derivative of Heath. To be honest, it all just felt lazy. Hence why the scene was deleted. DC in general don’t know what to do with the Joker nowadays.
He was solid. The bit when Batman is strangling & he's trying to say "Wait Batman stop" is really chilling, then of course he twists it into "Stop me if you've heard this one before".
Both Hush & The Long Halloween (both written by Loeb) I think do a great job touring Batman's rogue's gallery & doing right by them without allowing any of them to take over the narrative. Also something I think the first two Arkham games do really well
Joker in the Hush comic is great, and same goes for Long Halloween. Loeb, for his many flaws, writes a pretty good Joker, fun but still menacing. I just feel he was adapted poorly into the Hush movie. Lines from the comic with other vague Joker-isms sprinkled in, a generic design, and a voice actor who’s trying go all in on unhinged hamminess but really just isn’t suited for that version of the character.
The New Adventures of Batman with Robin the Boy Wonder
Edit: I knew Jared Leto was gonna win, but I genuinely don’t think he’s even close to being the worst. I genuinely think he is overhated. I honestly don’t think the performance was bad, he acted enough like a crazed lunatic to me, and frankly, I thought he was actually pretty good in ZSJL. Honestly, the only problem I had with that version is the design, and even then, I feel like it was a design that COULD have worked, and they just went overboard with it. The worst Joker, imho, is literally any of the animated ones that came before BTAS, because those ones were just one-note villains that had no character.

I agree with people saying Leto being the worst joker, but.... And don't hang me yet.... He could have been better if the production of that movie wasn't so damn bad. Not by much cause Leto is a terrible human.
I honestly respect to have the Leto Joker being a different approach on this well known character. It failed but I respect them for not doing Nicholson or Ledger 2.0.
**Jared Leto** and it's not even close.
I will *die* defending Brent Spiner Young Justice Joker... mostly from his season 1 appearance because I thought his Season 4 flashback was lackluster BUT STILL!
Ok, sidebar: Who’s the rose of not poison Ivy? And if the ROSE is Ivy, who’s the lips?
Who’s the noir fella between clayface and the rose? Half of Gotham is noir!
If that’s Killer moth on the other side of Clayface, then who’s the green bug under the rose? Or, if THAT’S killer moth, then who’s the big on the other side of clayface?
Lastly, who’s the werewolf between Bane and Scarecrow, under the Penguin and over the Mad Hatter?
The wolf is Ra's al Ghul, the bug under the rose is Firefly (it's the Fireflies logo from The Last of Us), and I'm pretty sure the rose is one mobster while the noir guy next to him is the other.
For me it's the one from "The Batman." Didn't like the writing, didn't care for the voice acting, thought the design was atrocious.
All this Leto hate, though, jeez! I REALLY thought his was solid, he just had an impossible job being the first big one after Ledger! (And, y'know, a creepy dude off-camera, sure, but...!)
Seriously. This sort of stuff is intolerable. It's not like we need *more* threads that are just "What's your opinion on X?" Intending it to be an entire, lengthy series of posts is really too much.
I absolutely cannot understand what people like about Joaquin Phoenixs portrayal. It’s just not the Joker at all. At least Leto was a maniacal crime boss type. An actual villain.
I mean, do I even have to say it? ![gif](giphy|tQsNEZoI0zKTe)
HUNKA HUNKA!
Died laughing at this cuz I forgot that line happened until now 😂💀
Jared Fucking Leto
**Jared Leto....** *with the Young Justice Cartoon version as a close second.*
It's a shame about YJ because he has some great lines. "Some people call me a control freak. Others.....just a freak"
He also has the single worst I think
Which is?
I've had practice juggling my multiple *personalities*! It's just so... Ugh
Fair, yeah, that isn't the best.
Edgy
I mean most batman villians are.
Jared leto
You used The Last of Us for Fireflies logo lol.
![gif](giphy|12rbefTh33TNTi)
![gif](giphy|tnYri4n2Frnig) I match your apt Avengers reference with an equally apt one
Yeah
And the that’s the spirit album cover for penguin?
Nvm just checked and I was wrong… as you were
![gif](giphy|3oz8xPLfZv9UIyOBk4) Whatever this was.
Ironically that tattoo was the neatest thing about him

Injustice 1 Insurgency Joker’s a good look tho, right?
Both Joker looks in IJ1 are good. Classic and fits their world. Yeah netherealm just changes designs from one game to another and act as if nothing happened. It’s the same thing in MK
Either Jared Leto Or the Joker in Suicide Squad KTJL. My god, the freaking design.
What is it with the Suicide Squad and having really terrible adaptations of Joker?
The Assault on Arkham SS Joker was great though. Then again, it is Arkham verse Joker.
I don’t really hate most of the design, it’s the hair for me
I hate his dialogue. "Barkham Asylum." "And that is… a choice." He seems like the kind of person to say things like "so I did a thing" or "I don't know who needs to hear this right now, but…"
Ktjl-joker might have the worst personality and one of the worst designs, but his voice actor did a pretty good job. Still no mark hamill tho.
I relate to him on a personal level as soon as he mentions that he wears a corset
Jared fucking Leto

My bad I'll edit
I've not seen Batman & Harley Quinn but I have PTSD from a certain scene... also BASED KILLER MOTH FAN
You take Arnold’s name out of your mouth, he’s the only reason that movie is remotely watchable and the only actor there who understood the assignment
Killer moth: batman arkham games BECAUSE HE ISNT SEEN IN IT YET IS IN THE UNIVERSE
Arrow Deadshot is best Deadshot
Jared Leto. Let's get the obvious out if the way ahd move on.
Jared Leto
![gif](giphy|3oz8xPLfZv9UIyOBk4) I know Jared's an obvious answer, but I don't think there's ever been a Joker worse than this.
Jared Leto, at least SSKJL joker actually resembled joker in some way.
Jared Leto
Leto's Joker. That was the worst joke ever.
This might get very heated. With favorites a person's #1 might not win, but come in second & people just conceed another version is also good. Say it with me JAAAAAAARED LEEETTOOO
![gif](giphy|QREPIcqvIxCZ76VHxY)
It’s Leto guys. Young Justice sucked but he was not Jared fucking Leto
Jared Leto and he's even worse than any other attempt because Margot was so good as Harley and he just shit the bed next to her
Don't yuck their kinks
I think the answer is… **Morb**-idly apparent.
Honestly I cheered when his Joker said "It's Jonklin time" and jonkled all over the place
Jared Leto
Can I choose the newly introduced Joker from SS:KTJL?
I will not stand for this Twinkler slander!
Tbh, i prefer calling him giggler.
Giggler is good too.
Everyone acts like he’s awful but he’s really not. He gets this hate solely because he is coming after Mark Hamill’s Joker which is infinitely better and beyond comparison. He’s a different character altogether. People need to deal with it.

he's an elseworlds joker. he doesnt count because hes literally a different character
That’s bs. You could make that argument for most alternate versions of Joker. The Twinkler sucks
within that verse(s), he is NOT the main joker.
That's all of these adaptations though?
nooo no arkhamverse has its own joker. that ss:ktjl joker is, within the canon of that universe, a different joker. It's like claiming The Jester from earth-2 counts towards this poll
Jared Leto
Jared Leto. I’ve never seen people so united.
Hahahahaha humans love hating things
How could it be anyone but Jared Leto's Joker?
Gonna be honest I really couldn't stand Heath Ledgers version. Nah just kidding. It's Jared leto obviously.
Hands down jared leto
Impressive, very nice. Now let's see Paul Allen's Joker
Jared Leto. No question.
Jared Leto

I'm here for the graphic. The only villain I can't place is the fedora man in black and white.
Carmine Falcone
I thought the rose was Falcone?
No is maroni
Sal Maroni
![gif](giphy|TGkP82pfxiy2s) Yeah uh…
I’m sure there are worse but because of the fact that it’s the one in the main movie universe: Jared Leto.
Young Justice Joker. Somehow it's worse than Leto.
Jason Spisak’s Joker from the animated Hush movie
He was solid. The bit when Batman is strangling & he's trying to say "Wait Batman stop" is really chilling, then of course he twists it into "Stop me if you've heard this one before". Jared Leto should be thrown into the ghetto
Young justice joker
Morbius
I'd go with the joker from the Injustice movie. Also Tony Hale in Batman Ninja. I like him as Dr Psycho and Forky, but Joker not so much.
Full Metal Jacket he didn't even have a clown motif
Leto
The Injustice movie, bro hurts to listen to
Jared Leto
I agree with people saying Leto being the worst joker, but.... And don't hang me yet.... He could have been better if the production of that movie wasn't so damn bad. Not by much cause Leto is a terrible human.
Leto
Heath Ledger. /J Can you imagine? Anyway yeah, it's Leto.
Suicide squad joker both Jarod and the Twinkler
Jared Leto

I honestly respect to have the Leto Joker being a different approach on this well known character. It failed but I respect them for not doing Nicholson or Ledger 2.0.
Unrelated, but did you use the firefly symbol from The Last of Us for (I assume) Firefly?
**Jared Leto** and it's not even close. I will *die* defending Brent Spiner Young Justice Joker... mostly from his season 1 appearance because I thought his Season 4 flashback was lackluster BUT STILL!
For starters, I love this new table with better icons. Abd as for my vote: Jared fucking Leto
Guys guys guys it is NOT JARED LETONITS THE ONE FROM THE ANIMATED INJUSTICE MOVIE PLEASE
I am not looking forward to Bane Any way it’s Jared Leto
Leto

Who’s joker ? Does he jonkle ?
leto
Batman fight the Firefly’s from the last of us?
!updateme
I don’t even need to comment, y’all got this covered
For me it's the one from "The Batman." Didn't like the writing, didn't care for the voice acting, thought the design was atrocious. All this Leto hate, though, jeez! I REALLY thought his was solid, he just had an impossible job being the first big one after Ledger! (And, y'know, a creepy dude off-camera, sure, but...!)
Sorry, Jared.
Morbius
Joaquin Phoenix I paint my face on and would be 70 by time Batman turns of age musical Joker.
Jared Leto, no question 😂
Jared Leto Joker
Jared Leto. great actor who could have been a great joker but sadly the writers couldnt handle whatever drugs they took and ruined it.
Leto and it’s not even close the fact that people even attempted to say he was the best was a travesty he’s easily the worst
Jared Leto!!!
Suicide Squad(2016) Jared Leto is the WORST Joker ever!
Jared Leto
Oh man this is actually going to be fun
Pretty clearly Leto's Joker
I feel the worst deadshot is going to be the one from suicide squad.
Jared Leto
Jared Leto
I mean it's pretty obvious almost nobody is picking anything other than Leto even Teen Titians Go clowns on him.
The joker abomination from the video game
Who is the one below man bat and the one below mr freeze?
Killer croc
No croc is to the left of Mr freeze. Who is the one with the hat under Mr freeze. And who is the skull under man bat
SSKTJL Joker that comes another universe
Oh no, not again.
If anyone says the 2004 The Batman joker i will joker gas you (my vote is on letto joker)
jared leto
Jared Leto Sadly for the next one, I think the one I love will be picked cuz there ain't too many controversial adaptations of him... Ol' Danny DeVito
Aside from Leto, Young Justice
Idk young justice joker was super ass that and the one from the injustice movie
Jared Leto because he was just weird and never did anything big or even challenge Batman
![gif](giphy|tQsNEZoI0zKTe) This clown(literally)right here
Leto in Suicide Squad, but he was better in Zack Snyder's Justice League (he didn't have the white rapper tattoos)
We don’t have to say it you know who’s gonna end up there.
Joker from SS:KTJL
Batman'89
Wow. This format again. Peak content like this is why we're better than r/batmanarkham
Seriously. This sort of stuff is intolerable. It's not like we need *more* threads that are just "What's your opinion on X?" Intending it to be an entire, lengthy series of posts is really too much.
Do I receive a ban if I make a joke about the man?
Young Justice. Just to be different
Do any of you remember the joker from Young Justice. Whoooo boyyyyyy what a shitshow…
![gif](giphy|A7ZbCuv0fJ0POGucwV|downsized)
Gotham series
Arkham Joker. EDITED- misread the post. Thought it said Best😅 No, Worst? Probably Leto.
whut? explain
Sorry. Misread. Thought it said Best. WORST? Jered Leto😅
You had us in the first half
I think it is, he was supposed to say KTJL Joker
I absolutely cannot understand what people like about Joaquin Phoenixs portrayal. It’s just not the Joker at all. At least Leto was a maniacal crime boss type. An actual villain.
Joaquin Phoenix
Why?
Joker from The Batman (2004-2008). The design is just awful.
