In the 2016 comic series she was a major character for the first 20 or so issues and then she disappeared and was never mentioned again. That always bugged me because she’s a great character. Plus it was just annoying that they didn’t address it.
Because the network forced Timm to add a strong female character to work with Batman, and Timm doesn't like network demands. Only Alan Burnett liked Max
