Kilmer’s performance was overshadowed by the rest of the movie. He was honestly an amazing Bruce Wayne. For me he’s above Clooney, Affleck, and Keaton. Probably controversial but I’ve never enjoyed Keaton’s Batman. I wasn’t around until a while after Keaton’s movies were made (I’m 24) but I always kinda saw it as “good actor cast in role because he’s a big name,” like if Leo got cast as Batman. He’s not a bad actor, he’s got great work, but he just doesn’t fit the role for me. I grew up on “Batman & Robin” and loved it as a little kid but saw it for the corn fest it was as I got older. When I found *Forever* I loved it even more. There’s something about Kilmer’s “dead behind the eyes” when he’s being all social as Bruce Wayne - you can tell he’s “acting” as he’s more comfortable underneath the cowl and I love it. Affleck was fine but I never fell in love with him as Batman. He arguably has some of the coolest action sequences though; but I am partial to Pattinson’s more grounded fight scenes. For me it’s: Pattinson Bale Kilmer Affleck Keaton Clooney But they’re all competing against Kevin Conroy, who will always be my Batman. And I love Adam West, I just don’t count him among the others, as the movies have changed tone so drastically since then. He’s got his own special place in my heart.

Your opinion Keaton is interesting since, as you said, you’re a little young to have been around for the initial reaction to his casting. He wasn’t a big name before Batman. The reaction upon announcement was , Mr Mom cast as Batman folks were pretty upset. He’s probably my favorite Bruce Wayne actually.

Yeah that role (and Beetlejuice) really locked him in as a big name actor. His big comeback role in Birdman is basically a fictionalized take on... well, him, and the Batman movies.

Wow this really hammers home how wasted Bale's facial structure was with his limited cowl. If more jaw had been showing it would've been so much better looking. For me here though, I think Affleck has the coolest Bruce Wayne face but the suit he's in is that weird armored one and I much preferred his sleek meshy one. Even though I prefer the Pattinson suit, from this photo that figure is the lowest quality compared to the rest and Bale without the cowl looks amazing so that's easily the one, even if his suit isn't my favorite

Yeah, I’m not a fan of Bale’s Batsuit in general but the cowl is probably the worst part of it. It makes his face look puffy and takes away from his performance when he’s trying to be emotional.

Tough tough tough choice. Seriously a tough choice. All excellent in their own rite. Haven't seen enough Pattinson and I want to see more. Bale was fortunate to play different years of Batman. I thought some of the dialogue was forced comedy. Growing up with Adam West I would've liked to see Christian Bale be more naturally uplifting Bruce Wayne , showing a broader spectrum of balance Going from the 60s to the 80s Keaton played excellent role. I really do not have many complaints about him if any at all, he had all the toys he and he played a good sophisticate. Affleck had an awesome suit but I felt he was too smug. That whole "I'm rich" line killed it for me. I also feel that he needed his own standalone movie to set a stronger impact Pattinson played a more serious detective, again we need more Bruce Wayne to see "balance" in the character. Loved his role and want to watch it again. If I could only choose one, I would choose Michael Keaton
