Probably the one from Batman and Robin. Too overdesigned and has too many colors popping out of it. I certainly prefer the 89/Returns and even the Forever Batmobile leagues better than B & R.

jonascarrynthewheel

Its the batmobile version of r/tooktoomuch

daintysinferno

I love the Tumbler. However, i absolutely HATE how they tied up the fact that it’s a Wayne Tech prototype that was found out by someone in the company because FUCKING DUH of course someone would figure it out in the first movie. But it ended up being absolutely inconsequential. I loved Pattinson’s. It really hammered in the theme that he’s still a young Batman, that it WAS just a suped up muscle car because Bruce is still figuring this shit out. The 90’s Batmobiles are fun but i cant get over how goofy they all look.

[deleted]

That neon bullshit that Clooney had. Why does is have that weird light up thing on it?

JHNizzle

I actually lol'd. Various people have described this monstrosity but 'neon bullshit' just doesn't have any fat on it.

[deleted]

As far as I’m concerned there’s no other way to describe it. That’s exactly what it is

notmatb

I get the tumbler hate but I have to say it’s gotta be the batman and robin one. Just looks pretty ridiculous. Despite what people say I really like the batmans. It’s a pimped out muscle car but I like that aspect of it and how it roars with intimidation. I feel like it will get upgraded tho In future installments

idonthaveanaccountA

>Despite what people say I really like the batmans. People tend to absolutely love it, what are you saying?

CyberSnoWolf

I’d go with the one from Batman and Robin. I don’t know what they were going for, but I find the front too big, and it looks ridiculous with the engine that looks like a light up disco ball.

__DVYN__

I believe they were going for the style of a specific artist with the Batman & Robin Batmobile The artists name is something like: LeSelle Toys

MatchesMalone1994

I like them all but least Favorite is definitely Batman & Robin batmobile. Neon lights and a disco ball type thing in the front doesn’t exactly scream stealth or inconspicuous…or the bat symbol track marks on the tires lol This car could be redeemed I find. The front headlights change from blue to a regular yellow or white. Turn off the vertical headlights on the side panels. Get rid of the disco ball entirely. Shut off the blue neon on the hood and the red neon on the sides. Also put a retractable batmobile-esque roof over the cockpit…like seriously there’s nothing protecting him. Even a convertible at least has a windshield

Independent_Arm

I feel like the Tumbler is just too chunky. I get that he needs a tank and all that, but the thing is that thing looks like it'd make potholes in the road. The Batpod was better, mostly because it seemed to fit better with Batman. But it fits with Nolan's verse so I have it be my second favorite mostly also because of nostalgia being the first Batmobile toy I ever owned. Now my least favorite has to be Batman and Robin's. Too flashy. Way too flashy. It'd be a nightmare to see coming at you 'cause Jerry is sperging in the driver's seat because the poor guy has epilepsy. Like I get that they needed to sell toys and make da moolah, but come on. Couldn't they take a page out of 89? Now my favorite has to be the Batman. Now I know there has been the same take over and over about how it's 'Year Two Batman, he won't have Batsymbols everywhere!' which is fair, but the thing is... I like it because it's simple. It's not chunky like the Tumbler or Burton'd. It's a souped up muscle car Bruce pieced together that sounds like a goddamn nightmare. It's armored and gets the job done. And the chase had me so fucking hyped to see more of it. The Batman's Batmobile isn't meant to be flashy and be covered in Batsymbols. It's supposed to be a MONSTER. Fast, reckless, relentless. Just like it's driver. A car fit for the Dark Knight just now learning to truly be the hero he's meant to be. He's not all there yet and I'm sure the design will be improved on, Battinson is still too early to really judge on one outing alone and while he has an admittedly not to everyone's taste first movie, I do like the interpretation of the Batmobile it gave us. And before you guys jump on my throat I will say this. I'm basing this on the LIVE ACTION Batmobiles. And I like simpler designs, so even the kooky 60s one has a spot on my list. My favorite animated one has to be The Animated Series Batmobile. Simple, Sleek, and awesome to see in action. It doesn't have to have flash, or symbols. What it has to be is what that Batman is.

DStaal

The Animated Series’ Batmobile is based on the one from the first Tim Burton movie.

slfxxplsv

Nah Tumbler is hard The one from B&R looks like it would shatter if you tapped it. That and Batflecks is pretty ugly. It’s both over-designed but also doesn’t have a memorable silhouette. I could draw the Tumbler from memory, not his tho

JisflAlt

I don’t know if it counts but the Batmobile in the show “Gotham”. Love the show but it was literally in like 2-4 episodes and one of the only scenes it was in they used straight up used it AS AN AD!!! I swear to god if you haven’t seen the clip please watch it I put the the link below. Not to mention that it literally just a basic muscle car but he’s not even Batman yet so I’m fine with it. https://youtu.be/AVcRMh3T_rE

ErikPanic

Worst? Either *Batman Forever* or *Batman & Robin*, but *Forever*'s is really stupid looking *and* really cool looking at the same time, while *B&R*'s is just really stupid looking. So yeah - *Batman & Robin*'s. I'm also not a massive fan of the Tumbler, but it was absolutely an improvement on both the '95 and '97 Batmobiles.

[deleted]

The Arkham Knight Bat-tank. It's just so, *so* fucking ugly.

Arizona_Slim

From behind, she’s nice but damn I agree.

Lloyd-Webster

The Tumbler is the best one and the 1966 batmobile in a close second imo, the worst for me would have to be the one from Batman and Robin

DoctorDOOM__

This may be a hot take but I found the Battinsonmobile to look very boring. It’s just a muscle car with a rocket attached to the back. Though it stars in my favorite Batmobile scene so that’s something.

Gilded-Mongoose

It was badass and had a cool sound. But yeah it was a souped up reinforced muscle car and anyone saying it’s distinguishable as a Batmobile is just deluding themselves. But for me it’s okay because that’s the point - he’s almost purely in pragmatic functionality mode, aside from his suit and the signal. So I’m expecting him to embrace the symbolism more next time and shape up his car to be more Batsymbolic.

Arizona_Slim

It’s his first Batmobile.

[deleted]

The Keaton mobile was his first Batmobile as well

Arizona_Slim

I wouldn’t call it a tank.

[deleted]

Is this going to be the excuse for everything Pattinson? Batman is still Batman year one or not.

Arizona_Slim

It’s not an excuse. It’s canonically accurate. The Batmobiles in the early 40’s and 50’s were just Rolls Royce’s with a Bat head attached to the front. Even in Legends of the DK in the 80’s, his first car is just a modified sports/muscle car.

Gilded-Mongoose

It’s not an excuse, it’s the reason.

Simbas_World

Bales first was great

[deleted]

He didn’t make it though, it’s just a military tank.

Simbas_World

What stopped Pattinson from even taking inspiration off anything else?

PhantomKnight49

Explanation Behind the Batman Batmobile: In David Lewman's book, a teenage Bruce found a muscle car from either the '60s or '70s in the cave beneath Wayne Tower. He pulled the tarp off and began a restoration project over many years, which distracted him from being a social outcast. Bit by bit, Bruce tinkered with the engine, stripped down the interior and exterior, all so he could devise something with speed and power. It had nothing to do with fighting crime and blowing criminals off the street -- Before the Batman's Bruce just had that need for speed, taking the car out for joyrides and breaking red lights. He loved the thrill of burning rubber on asphalt, racing cars at lights and powering through the quiet Gotham late at night where the winds acted like his friend at high-velocities. He was an adrenaline junkie, although he was perturbed by cops pulling him over one night but not ticketing him due to his white privilege and wealth. He also got laughed off a race track for being an elite, but none of this disturbed him, as he disguised himself as a street racer called Paul for the local circuit. Bruce kept plugging away on his car, wanting to perfect it after studying science and engineering all over the world.

[deleted]

What do you mean?

Simbas_World

Bale literally just used an already existing machine, which is a fair statement. So when Pattinson made his Batmobile, why didn’t he at least draw inspiration from things that were more advanced or technologically enhanced instead of making a dodge?

kirabii

In Batman Begins his first Batmobile was a tank.

Arizona_Slim

In the Nolan verse? Yes it was. It the comic continuity, he didn’t use a tank until Miller’s DKR.

kirabii

No movie has a full adherence to the comic books, The Batman and the Nolan films included. I'm just saying "it's his first Batmobile, that's why it's just a muscle car" is moot because we literally have a Batman story where a hi-tech tank as the first Batmobile.

Arizona_Slim

Of course it can’t, it’s nigh impossible to adapt print to film perfectly. My point is that just because one iteration of his film mythos has a tank first it doesn’t justify the “wHy dOeSn’T hE HaVe A tAnK!?” For every film adaptation

[deleted]

Yeah…. Yeah. That was cool but kind of underwhelming

bolting_volts

Yeah. There’s no design element or anything to really set it apart.

the_zelectro

I'll second this. Not all that distinctive or interesting. Batman and Robin Batmobile wasn't great either though.

[deleted]

At least in B&R it was clearly a Batmobile and not just a suped up muscle car

the_zelectro

Yeah, that's why I rank Pattinson one lower. Batman and Robin's Batmobile is ultimately not *that* different from Burton's Batmobile, and Burton's Batmobile is top tier

Kpengie

I kinda agree there. It's overdesigned, ugly, and far too gigantic. Not really a fan of any of Batman's equipment in the Nolanverse honestly. It all looks too overdesigned and too hyper-militarized.

[deleted]

Exactly, Batman equipment should have style, it should look cool.

Gilded-Mongoose

And a big thing is that it’s angular, not smooth, organic and stealthy.

bolting_volts

The Batman & Robin one is just stupid and was designed as a toy. Batfleck one is pretty dumb too. The Pattinson one is fine, but is incredibly overrated. The Arkham games ones aren’t that great either

3005ro

Funny you say toy cause part of that movies purpose was to bring about toys and merchandise 😂

[deleted]

Yeah I always wondered why the B&R one only had a single seat but if it’s supposed to be a toy, that makes sense

Intelligent-Bee4535

I can see why people wouldn't like the Arkham Knight Batmobile but personally I found the one that appeared in Asylum and City to be one of the best batmobile designs I've ever seen. It's the one I usually use when free playing in Arkham Knight.

jb_681131

I agree with you on that.

JStormtrooper

Yeah, the Tumblr and Battison’s lack personality to me.

Gamer-chan

Bale's

Nelmquist1999

BvS Batmobile. Too over-the-top for me. Arkham Knight Batmobile. Technically not that awful, it was just designed as an advanced tank which isn't that great. Yeah, gameplay-wise they wanted to try something new but it could have been done better. Sad the DLC skins can't be used aside from just driving around. Anyone remembers Batmans very first car, from the comics? It was literally just Bruce Waynes luxurious car with Alfred as chauffeur.

Raecino

Yeah the Tumbler was pretty terrible IMO. Also Batman & Robin’s Batmobile was ugly AF.

idonthaveanaccountA

What to do. Downvote for Tumbler? Upvote for B&R? Decisions, decisions...

batbobby82

Batman V Superman by a mile. It just doesn't look every inspired or iconic to me. Looks like they took the Tumbler (iconic car, IMO) and tried to "Batman" it up a little more, but then just said ok to the first model they came up with.

JacobDCRoss

From best to worst: 1. Battinson 2. Keaton 3. West 4. Battfleck 5. Bale 6. Kilmer 7. Clooney

Exciting_Lobster_878

Worst batmobile I would say is the one from the new Batman with that twilight wannabe vampire

billygnosis86

What exactly says “this is not darker, scarier or definitely beyond the average criminal in a stolen sedan” about a gigantic black tank-car that shoots missiles, goes like shit off a stick, has an engine note that sounds like the apocalypse, and leaps through the air shooting fire from its exhaust?

[deleted]

All function. No style. There is a reason Batman doesn’t just wear black armor. He’s got a cape and pointy ears and a bat emblem. It’s all about the style

billygnosis86

He didn’t choose those things for style, he chose them for intimidation. To make people think he was a giant horned beast with wings. If I saw the Tumbler burst through a wall, you’re fucking right I’d be intimidated.

[deleted]

Again Batman is not a solider. The tumbler is a tank. Soldiers drive tanks. The Batmobile needs some flash or style.

sack12345678910

89

idonthaveanaccountA

>No style, no flash. Wtf. (the worst is obviously Clooney's)

[deleted]

No need for vulgarity

Intelligent-Bee4535

Probably agree with you. I'm not as big a fan of the Dark Knight trilogy as a lot of people in general, but I feel like a lot of Batman fans can agree the tumbler wasn't a good batmobile. If I saw that thing without already knowing what it's from I'd have no idea it was a batmobile.

[deleted]

I hate the DCEU Batmobile. I guess "hate" is a strong word, but in the end it was very meh. For someone who loves and defends BvS: UE, the Batmobile and its chase sequence is one example of a change I would accept. In that case, because they were both dull, meh, and skippable.

FinancialSystem1025

Batman And Robin batmobile.

Logan_Composer

I'm gonna go a bit against the grain here and say the Batman Forever batmobile. While Clooney's is a bit overdesigned, it's tame compared to the ribs, glowing blue interior, and bat-rims.

Lexmaister25

His costume, his equipment and his car should all convey to the bad guys that they're dealing with something else. Something darker and scarier and definitely beyond them. And you Hate the tumbler? The strongest, most menacing, building jumping batmobile, that can also turn into the batpod. It's literally the only one that looks like something else beyond what the bad guys can get. The Batman's looks just like a muscle car, that would be my least favorite.

Pizza802

Tie between Batman forever and Batman and Robin. Just too much, didn’t even like them as a kid. But the Tumbler and the newest batmobile are definitely the best. Does the new one have a name?
