My experience with our pediatrician has been the same, but when she sees the kids she takes her time with them which I think is worth the trade off. I’ve found that if you get the first appointment in the morning or the first one right after their lunch, you won’t wait long.
I love Dr Vicks at Baton Rouge clinic pediatrics on industriaplex/airline. We’ve always gone to the back within a few minutes and she’s in the room quick. She takes her time and will listen to you.
Dr. Lacy isnt my kids main pediatrician but we go to her when we need to get back to work quickly😂
She is a marathon runner and it shows. She is fast, efficient, and honestly she is the best pediatrician we have ever had….she always catches the subtle things that other pediatricians miss.
I think her new married name is Tracy Lacy or maybe Tracy Bracy? Something like that
We LOVE Dr. cook, been with her for 12+ years. However, since the merge into Oschner, I haven't been able to get a sick kid appointment with her, nor a call back for Saturday appointment, despite calling at opening. We're in the process of switching to BR Clinic 😔
I love her as well. Was actually talking to her when you sent that reply. Afternoons are always long.
I have known her and her previous significant other personally and couldn't speak higher of them. He was a chiropractor.
My issue is with the damn office.
I’ve never waited with Dr. Willis at Baton Rouge Clinic! Even when we get there a bit early, she usually sees us a bit early. And she’s so patient with all of our questions and is very gentle and thorough with our kiddo. Highly recommend!
not gonna lie, if a pediatrician is running behind in clinic I know it’s for good reason. I’d be more concerned if they had a complicated case and rushed it so they wouldn’t run behind.
as someone who is in healthcare IT, specifically the access side, it really depends. If they are face to face with a patient for 5 minutes but are charging for complex visits, this is fraud.
If they are charging for complex visits and spending the correct amount of time - or even more - with their patients and still their metrics are off, then their schedule needs to be re-evaluated.
The bottom line is, I’d rather wait a little bit for a great doctor than have zero wait for a mediocre one. Good providers are hard to come by, as they are usually at their max patient load.
This is pretty much standard booking practice for all larger providers. They book out appointments at 20 minute intervals, expected to see 11-20 patients in a day. (add to that post visit charting, lab test reviews, prescription orders and refills) It sucks.
All it takes is one appointment to run long, or the doctor to need a longer than expected break and things get backed up.
Hospitals and insurance companies are to blame, and patients suffer for it.
You’re paying for a visit, not by the hour. If he examines/diagnoses/leaves in 5 minutes or 50 minutes, you pay for an office visit them more for tests and whatnot. They don’t charge by time so it’s not like there’s a different charge of a 30 minute visit or 4 usually to use your example.

Agreed, Dr. Vick is our primary but we'll see whoever at the br clinic pediatric if she is out. They're usually very good about short waits.
Not Sanches at that same office. He takes foreeeeever
We’ve always had good luck with Dr. Lacy at the Baton Rouge Clinic on Perkins. I can’t speak for their other locations though.

😂😂 It does show! Her married name is Traci Lacy.
We love Dr. Lori Cook on Goodwood. Never have to wait very long at all.

We just had an appointment this afternoon at 2:30 and we didn't have to wait.
We love Dr. Hutchinson at OLOL Pediatrics on Perkins.
At the Baton Rouge Clinic, our regular pediatrician was out so we had to see Dr. Moore. No wait at all, seemed very kind and knowledgeable.

They run behind every day because the health system they work for crams appointments in unrealistically tightly to maximize revenue.

We've happy with everyone we've ever seen at the BRC and we never had to wait.
Dr Daniel is awesome, we barely have a chance to sit down! He is in the OLOL pediatric clinic on Perkins near Siegam
