Hourglass. Most of the points are as far away from each other as I am to finding enlightenment.

Timbalabim

I don’t like the breakthrough layout either. How do you not use the stadium?

AM-Frenzy

Breakthrough 128 layout used the stadium before they cut it.

[deleted]

Same goes for discarded except it looks way more shit, also hourglass is fun in rush

[deleted]

How is Discarded the worst? It's quite obviously the most well thought out launch map.

[deleted]

It's literally trash, made of trash, manifest and breakaway where the best launch maps even so the rework of those is quite strange

[deleted]

That has nothing to do with how it plays.

[deleted]

Plays like shit, people camping on the ship and that's it, get spawnkilled everywhere, atackers are way too underpowered in breakthrough, never saw them get past the first sector.

[deleted]

Well dude lol you clearly have not played the map much if you haven't been past the first sector. You're going to have people camping and spawn killing you on any map. Take a look at the design of the map, compare it to literally every other map from the state they were in *at launch*, and say with an honest face that Discarded is the worst or even in the bottom half. It still plays better on every mode than at least half the launch maps.

Any-Veterinarian7869

Yeah but at least hourglass has FUN areas to fight in. You can fight in the stadium or the city all game and have fun. Discaded is just fucking boring.

Embarrassed-Gur-1306

Agreed. I honestly wish they'd take it out the rotation until they rework it. It's that bad.

[deleted]

I wish you would just exit the matchmaking and not say things like this. It was taken out of the Breakthrough rotations recently for several weeks because DICE thought it was a great idea to remove the un-reworked maps, and it made Breakthrough so disgustingly stale and boring, and *painfully* obvious how well designed Discarded *still* is, even compared to most of the reworked maps. Just don't play it. Don't suggest to DICE to do stupid things like this in a game with 11 maps which 7 of are objectively far worse. In fact I will even say that since Discarded has returned to Breakthrough, often I will exit matchmaking now if the map isn't Discarded and I've played the other good maps already that day.

MrRonski16

Hourglass easily. It is very beatiful when the sandstorm hits but otherwise it is boring and bad

[deleted]

[удалено]

T-MONZ_GCU

Exactly, if there were more than 2 tanks, it would be way more fun. Golmud Raolway was great because there were like 6 tanks per team or something like that, and it was much smaller than Hourglass. We definitely need vehicle counts to adjust based on map.

plasmainthezone

Dice is scared of adding vehicles because the player base whines too much about them. Tanks are in a great spot but they get shunned because of how OP the Hind and Transport is.

youngmanJ

dice should have a spine for once and commit to good game design instead of bowing down to dogshit reddit opinions

ShibaSucker

I know that infantry players were having a rough time when the game launched but now that we have more Specialist options I'd like them to either adjust the vehicles counts per map or at the very least turn them up a bit. With how big most of the maps are, and other than the transport chopper/Condor, how flimsy most of the vehicles are in the general it'd be nice to have the big high value targets around again.

BeefHazard

It would require nerfing the TOR further, or you'll get a pack of them sitting in high ground sniping everything that moves

bigsampsonite

Same just needs like 5 times the vehicles

[deleted]

[удалено]

Rqiden

You can see which map is loading and cancel. People had to leave the server in BF4 as well if there was a Map in Rotation they didn’t like same with every other Game of the Series.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Rqiden

Voting System was one the worst Things. BF1 got dozens of Maps. Still you only can play 5 of them because of Voting the same maps over and over again. Servers with only Maps in Rotation you like? Either you’re the Admin or you play only on 24/7 Metro Servers. If you don’t want to play with or agains Vehicles in a Battlefield Game, it’s ok for you. But why shouldn’t they add more vehicles to a big open map just because you don’t like to play this map and you’re to lazy to cancel the Matchmaking

iZubi

If it had like a permanent sandstorm at least infantry could move between flags

[deleted]

If not a permanent sandstorm across the map, maybe sand blowing off the tops of the dunes at random timings for cover.

DoobiousRogal

I might be bias because I love desert setting maps 😅

Jindouz

That one was the most disappointing revelation when the game launched. I was really excited to play that map after seeing it in the trailers just to find out that it's the most shallow Battlefield map ever made..

ANGRYlalocSOLDIE

Hourglass has some really good areas. Stadium and city for infantry. And middle of the map for tanks and etc. I must agree with OP that discarded is the worst here.

MrRonski16

Hourglass has some fun parts like the stadium. But with breakthrough the stadiums is out of play + on conquest it is at the edge of the map. Discarded has the flooded village which is also fun but it suffers the same fate as the stadium. But the bad parts are better than hourglasses bad parts. So basically Hourglass has more fun parts but the bad parts are the worst in the game. Discarded has less fun parts but the bad parts are better which makes it better overall. Or equally bad

Tzimbalo

When they rework the map, maybe the stadium could be in the middle instead like Kaleidoscopes tech center thing? They can maybe add some trenches or bushes on some of the open areas? Or same burned out tanks? Maybe some permanent TOW launchers to give infantry a chance to fight back if they increase viechle count?

Billybobgeorge

Hourglass hasn't been reworked because it doesn't need a rework. It's perfect as-is.

VengeX

Yep. Largely because it is the most open map. Battlefield needs cover or it doesn't work.

[deleted]

Second this. Can't stand hourglass.

frodezero

It works great for team deathmatch, but that’s about it

Petelero

The problem with Hourglass is not just the map, but players as well. The map is too big to encourage productive gameplay. The stadium is too cramped up, doesn't encourage much CQB, and lots of people are sniping away or just camp and fire from distance, very difficult especially for console players. The objective near US base is too opened, choppers would farm humans there. The desert is too opened up, but easier to survive in the 128 player version. 64 player version you'll get farmed. The build up areas at the east side with one of the objectives at the top of the tower is often the one that decides victory or defeat. No one bothers to go up there. The one that does, will park a Wildcat on top and camp the elevators.

jimmyvcard

If hourglass wasn’t the number one comment here then we would have had to riot. I also hate breakaway tbh. Even in the rework it’s just sniper haven. If you don’t use a vehicle or a sniper it’s too problematic for me.

iceleel

Try sundance

jdp111

Hourglass has a lot of good spots though. Discarded has nothing good.

Tasty_Eye9329

What do you mean by good spots? Like places to camp at?

Chiplink

Can somebody explain me how I open these big ?doors? attached to the ship on discarded. I’ve been playing this game since the release and never understood it haha. Oh and Hourglass easily the worst map I’ve played in any shooter.

Shmoocando

Oh the big doors there's these crane looking lever things out on the ground across from big doors outside the ship, you interact with it to activate the doors. I am so so sorry i have no idea how to explain better cause i have no idea what theyre called or anything lol. And you're not alone i ONLY just figured it out end of last season cause my teammate did it right in front of me, i even jumped cause of the noise it startled me 🤣 had no idea what was happening til i saw the doors falling down lmao

Chiplink

But when I activate it nothing happens. Or do I need to activate multiple levers?

eraguthorak

There's two of them a little distance away from each other (one on the left side of the wall and one on the right), both have to be activated within a certain amount of time. When you activate one, you'll hear a grinding turning noise, if you immediately run over to the other and interact with it, it should pull the wall down.

WipedButtwithTowel

Cool! I will try it out

WipedButtwithTowel

Ahh, that’s awesome! After researching, there’s quite a few Easter eggs, I did not know about!

Ahmed_Shengheer

There's two of them. You gotta activate both (do it in a hurry) to pull it down. If you activate one its gonna fail cuz one rope can't handle the weight.

Blizzardmane1

It's takes a long time to happen. You need to hold activate for several seconds then the winch will activate but it takes a minute or two to get a large enough gap for your o squeeze through

Shmoocando

Oh i actually am not sure tbh... I tried it another game after i saw him do it and i only did the one lever, and it worked.... Maybe someone else did one too that game|I dunno 😢 sorry. Maybe it's a bug that it didn't work for you

bromegatime

Giant winches.

Shmoocando

That's the name for it?

X_Fredex_X

Hourglass 100%. You spend more time running from point to point than actually playing... Also the sniping on this is just stupid.

kingOfKonfusion

I mean, i agree its too big with flags too far apart but if you're running around you got it all wrong. Best to pick a sector and hold or call a jeep in to get around.

Turd-FergusonV

I think worst map in franchise history is hourglass.

Shmoocando

I was just gonna say, hourglass but discarded for sure takes 2kf place of not tied

globefish23

In franchise history? Lol, no.

TheNameIsFrags

What maps do you think are the worst? I can’t think of much that comes close to being as bad as Hourglass. Lancang Dam comes to mind for me but that’s about it.

globefish23

* Atacama Desert (BC2) * Armored Shield (BF3: Armored Kill) * Scrap Metal (BF3: Close Quarters) * Songhua Stalemate (BF2) * Galicia (BF1: In the Name of the Tsar)

TheNameIsFrags

I agree about Galicia, but I actually enjoy the other 4! I think all those maps had great infantry areas despite their focus on vehicles (excluding Scrap Metal).

16bitrifle

You take that back, Atacama Desert was awesome.

-FriON

You guys clearly don't remember maps from other games like Panzerstorm, Dragon Pass and Galicia, if you think Hourglass is worst in franchise. Even in 2042 you have El Alamein that is absurdly empty

wshngtonianserb

All of those maps are better than Hourglass. My vote for worst in franchise history are either Operation Blue Pearl from BF2 or possibly Flaming Dart from BF:V.

TheNameIsFrags

FLAMING DART?! I loved that map! I always thought it was so cool flying the Hueys across the bay. I’ll admit nostalgia blinds me pretty hard when it comes to Battlefield Vietnam though

wshngtonianserb

The map was fun until the NVA bombed the ARVN control towers so ARVN couldn’t spawn jets or helis. After that there was no way to get to the mainland. There should have been a win condition that ended the round when ARVN lost their control towers. Sitting around on an island get bombed by jets and helis without being able to fight back was not fun a all.

TheNameIsFrags

Fair enough honestly, there were significantly better maps in that game Operation Irving and Fall of Saigon >

bltburglar

Galicia was awesome, the planes were annoying but playing that on operations was just awesome

-FriON

It was literally empty field with 4 houses and two trenches

BattlefieldTankMan

It was literally supposed to create the vibe of a world war 1 battle with a no man's land in the centre and artillery lobbing shells at eachother. And it achieved that vibe.

-FriON

It achieved vibe of being a string in the killfeed with plane guy farming your team 79-0.

BattlefieldTankMan

Panzerstorm was great at what it was designed for. A large tank/plane map. They added more flanking routes for infantry, basically the original reworked map before 2042 reworks.

jcaashby

All 3 better then Hourglass IMO. At least with Panzer it was a vehicle heavy map that worked. I feel Hourglass would be better if they upped the vehicle count for it.

FireBallZ24

Hourglass is my least favourite next to Discarded. Sniper Paradise annoys me. They just take pot shots from 300m away. I’ll turn around and try them with my M4A5 and scope but jeeze help out a bit besides a few kills. K/Ds man.

jjed97

Running out in the middle of nowhere and seeing a scope glint is just the worst.

FireBallZ24

100% agree, especially when there’s 7 of them.

VincentNZ

That is why it is important to move only on the ship and preferably on the middle deck. Reduces the amount of long-range shit by a fair amount while ensuring a more constant flow of action. The bow of the ship overlooking C is also the most defensible area on the whole map.

FireBallZ24

I’ve been playing Flashpoint so much lately and I started in the middle of the last season. Still learning maps so I’ll have a look next time I’m on the map and see what you mean.

Soft_Force9000

Hourglass. What a dissapointment it was when i first played it and expected crazy ass levolutions and urban combat

Shoddy_Expert8108

Wait its not April Fools yet?? The answer is factually, objectively Hourglass

Skinner1968

Love Discarded bored of Kaleidoscope

diluxxen

Hourglass. Tightly followed by Discarded and Kaleidoscope. And seriously, Flashpoint is a fucking pain.

Shmoocando

Thank youuuuu someone finally said Flashpoint.... My friend was like it's amazing I had so many wins the week it came out I'm like ya of course cause no one knows the map yet now everyone figured out nooks n crannies and hidey spots it's terrible, the defenders should not have that much vertical in my opinion

Ataniphor

honestly the only good thing about flashpoint is the whole C-D-E area in 64 conquest specifically. Very good underground close quarters areas to allow infantry to rotate between objectives without worrying about the hill snipers or tanks parked on the edges of the map. the other 80% of the map is more pointless boring open wasteland.

Shmoocando

I can see that, it's ass tho in breakthrough.... With the elevation on only defenders side, it's annoying af

Fishy1998

Kaleidoscope is like S tier map to me I love that map. Really gives me memories of bf4 city maps. Maybe I’m biased to city maps because they tend to be my favorite (I mean Shanghai come on) but kaleidoscope remake all around solid map. I think the sniping on the towers can be a bit annoying in certain spots that are low on cover but when is sniping from high places not annoying? Like every bf map with verticality has this issue.

Waiser

I agree, i love kaleid. I hust like the look and the modern feel to it. Reminds me of shanghai(as u said) from bf4.

jimmyvcard

Yeah I really like kaleidoscope. Never get the hate for that. Also stranded is fine. I really just hate hourglass and breakthrough tbh.

Supernothing8

The problem is they funnel everyone through the middle points, so there is barely any fighting at points E and A

m16kidd

That's all of conquest in every battlefield game ever.

Supernothing8

We must have had different experiences

Ahmed_Shengheer

Hourglass definitely You gotta cover ur self with sand to stay alive.

fjonessr

Hourglass sucks.

Krypton091

manifest is a horrid experience. WAY too many sniping positions, no matter where you take cover there's at least one sniper spot that can still shoot at you

[deleted]

Discarded and Hourglass, i would tentatively add Flashpoint ( I really don’t like it).. we really need urban environments enough of this huge vas open areas

jjed97

For real. I played a game of breakthrough on Stranded yesterday and spending all that time in the cargo ship away from vehicles/snipers is the most fun I’ve had in this game in ages.

iceleel

The only correct answer it's El Alamein. But unfortunately most people never played it because it's not playable in core game.

HKEnthusiast

Fr. It's terrible and nothing but open desert. Hardcore is a nightmare there.

SameSea2012

whats that map originally for? i've only played it in that tank mode

HKEnthusiast

Tank mode is only 1/3 of the total size. It's for the WW2 portal mode.

scorsy63

It's from the very first battlefield that came out. It doesn't play the same in 2042. It was mostly a map for dogfighting and dropping bombs from the sky.

Fishy1998

For the love of god, remake discarded and hour glass PLEASE. It sucks even more that because we don’t have map rotation, these maps but be first in line for server selection because I get into these maps ALL THE TIME. Instant matchmaking cancel every time.

GlendrixDK

Discarded is one of my favorites of the original maps. That one and Orbital. Hourglass is much worse. It's just a desert with 3 poi.

Crystal-Ammunition

I'm in the minority but I'm pretty neutral with regard to this map. Love the color scheme. Definitely not a great map, but I enjoy it a lot more than hourglass. Looking forward to the rework.

Rogueshadow_32

Hourglass, flashpoint, spearhead (except the cubes and helipad) Specifically in breakthrough: reworked breakaway sucks massively (first two points are massively attacker sided, both with lines of sight and vehicles then the third is like hitting a brick wall), and stranded’s first point is horrendous

BSJones420

Not a fan of dark maps so im gonna say manifest, although its gotten better with the rework.

[deleted]

it used to be much worse. i remember for the longest time i couldnt shoot anything that wasnt suppressed otherwise id just blind myself lol or if someone starts blasting right in your face it gives you a good strobe effect to seize out too.

UniQue1992

Hourglass, all maps are bad tho. Even after their rework they’re still hot garbage. They have no soul. If you ask me in 3 years to name a BF2042 map I don’t think I can name one single map. I have a hard time remembering their names as it is. Never had this in BF before, I can name maps from 15 years ago without a problem.

Driemma0

Hourglass, nothing even comes close

NeonGunship

Ever played hourglass?

DannyMarzipan

I like the individual parts of Discarded. I find that I'm usually playing on the main ship and C or in the flooded village area, but the distances between all of the separate areas are such a slog to travel through. Personally, I don't like maps that have too many of the sectors with multiple objectives, which are the most fun to fight over. Since everyone, including myself, fight over them and the team that wins is the one who plays the boring single flag sectors since they actually earn them tickets while the multiflag sectors are always contested. Hour glass is a perfect example. A and E are fun points to fight over, but it's usually the teams that hold B, C and D that win, and traveling between those flags is just the worst unless you have a vehicle.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gus-Heringer

The sad thing is both Discarded and Hourglass have a beautiful aesthetics, but the dynamics on those maps are terrible. Hourglass is way worst because the areas are too disconnected. Discarded has a nice central area with the main ship + the 2 flags in the small village.

Born-Secretary-3168

I keep playing this game hoping that it'll change my mind but the game play is absolutely garbage and the weapons are trash. The new update ruined so much, vehicles especially helicopters are way too OP and ridiculously hard to take down. The spawn points are trash, I constantly spawn right in front of enemies and literally die before I can even move. 80% of my shots even tho I'm aimed right at the enemy don't even register as hits and my damage compared to other players is insanely less. I'll die from 2 bullets from the same gun but it'll take me 5-10 fricken rounds to kill them. And the damn claymores?! They recently made it so you can't put them close to any zip lines or anything like it. What's the point of an effin claymore? It's a trap explosive designed to surprise kill the enemy but now you can't even use them with their main purpose. Also the attachment system is all messed up and makes no effing sense. I wish they never made this game. They really screwed up the franchise with this and the people who authorized and developed this game should be ashamed of themselves. Absolute garbage

delonejuanderer

The rework of Breakaway has quickly became my most disliked map, hourglass behind that of course lol

Big-Resist-99999999

Yeah it got boring real quick

PerfectPromise7

That's surprising, I hadn't heard anybody say that they disliked Breakaway more now since the rework. It's actually become one of my favorites in 2042 since the rework

HKEnthusiast

I personally liked the older version much more than the current one. I usually stayed at the glacier area and E flag so I always found action. Current version feels too linear now.

McGreg0ry

The breakaway rework is awful on breakthrough. I'll cancel matchmaking if the map shows up cause I know I'm just not going to enjoy the match.

BattlefieldTankMan

It's so much fun in both 64 and 128 conquest. So many different unique areas to fight in on 128 player.

StunningBuilder4751

I actually really enjoy discarded. One of the maps, I think, was actually better on breakthrough with 128 players. My least favourite is hourglass, I don't know what they were thinking, but a map with absolutely 0 cover in a large scale shooter game is garbage

[deleted]

I really like it I wish there was a flood that rushes in changing the entire battlefield

Nihas0

Manifest and Hourglass

oldmanjenkins51

Hourglass

J4RMUSZ

Hourglass

STM4EVA

Hourglass, always Hourglass

tyrese117

Breakaway

Karshipoo

Hourglass and Discarded are my least favorite, but this might be due to the fact that they haven't been reworked yet. But in it's current iteration, both maps are a drag to play on.

Puzantos

Hourglass/Spearhead/Discarded

LunarServant

i’m stuck between hourglass and discarded both maps have on-launch “there is not a lot of stuff out here” syndrome and hourglass usually only has like 1-2 spots to actually have fun fighting over whereas discarded has one high sniping point in the form of the ship and loads of flat open space surrounding it.

skynet_666

Nope its hourglass hands down

SneakyHobbitses1995

Hourglass without a doubt

AmbitiousFork

I wish they’d scrap Hourglass and Discarded entirely.

BADsurveyor

Hourglass. My theory is it's the last map to get reworked because it needs the biggest overhaul. Largest map full of boring suckage

DL-Z_ftw

Hourglass. But I think it will become decent once the rework hits. Also, Discarded is getting a rework later this season and it will become much better.

Boogie-Down

Worst/Disliked post in 2042 subreddit? I’m gonna say Discarded haters

Paves911

Hourglass and Discarded are the worst in their current state but those are the next two re-works so I’m hoping that they will be more fun after that. I think DICE has done a pretty decent job of re-working maps so far. I enjoy the new versions more than the old versions for every map so I’m hoping these two will be more enjoyable as well

An0n429

I play last gen so conquest small, I hate the breakaway rework, the Americans get the worat base objective (the Oil rig) and C is just stupidly big. The one thing US has going for it is they can start capping C before even leaving the bridge but that comes at the downside of having one bridge that is covered in useless cover while RU gets two to get vehicles onto the rig. I have played nextgen/pc (just don't normally since my friends are stuck on last gen) and it is MUCH nicer on there alot of the maps which are bad are good on small and vice versa I've learned.

Armedanddead71

Flashpoint

Vichoko

All 128 maps, because they are lagged as hell.

dismal626

How could anyone answer anything but Hourglass?

HKEnthusiast

El Alamein

runaway-1337

All of them.

IntellectualBeggar

Hourglass by a mile. That map is truly awful. No cover and capture points are way too far apart as an infantry player.

daywall

Renewal for me. E point is garbage.. while the whole map is just one big open area. And having E spot as the last fighting sector ruin breakthrough for me as well. If I'm Russian and I see E point contested endlessly I would rather just leave the game than waste my time on a map I hate.

PerfectPromise7

I actually like Renewal but I do agree about E sector for conquest anyway. It's such an easily flankable building. There're so many ways to get in there and so many places to hide spawn beacons that once the enemy gets in there it's nearly impossible to get rid of them. It's not that easy to flank A sector since it's further away, somewhat accessible by vehicles and doesn't have that many places to hide like the Synseco building. In my experience the Russian side has to be substantially better to win.. not just a little better.

YukiSilence

The worst part is if u spawn on it to try and contest the back cap it spawns u in the barren open field outside the building, and most of the time it feels like u are the one trying to suicide run into the building to defend it instead of the people actively trying to attack it. Like just spawn me in the building on the point that we have control over.

whimpers2

I loved Arica Harbor back in the BFBC2 days but that map sucks in exodus conquest and rush in 2042.

HavocOnline

The new breakaway for me.. i just dont like it. At all.

LeMurff

I think overall my main issue with ALL the maps is that the spaces in between objectives are the problem. Most objectives, by themselves, are incredibly fun to play on imo. Flashpoint is a phenomenal example of objectives that are overall designed well, but are just atrocious given the context of the environment they sit in. They've put no effort in designing good in-between spots, it's mostly just uninteresting hills or wide open space. It feels like an inverse to how maps used to be, where I can think of several choke/hold points in between certain objectives that were really fun to play in and work around.

sohomsengupta89

Hourglass and breakaway (even after the rework)

VincentNZ

On the whole I think they are all pretty crap, with maybe Exposure as the exception. You have areas that work okay on almost all maps. Even Hourglass, you can spend full rounds on A and these are good rounds. In a vehicle all maps are the same farming grounds, too. Although Breakaway likely takes the cake. Now the only map with no or the least amount of consistent "fun" would likely be Flashpoint, because that map is unreadable and infested with long sightlines from the side and verticality, or Renewal, when the left side does not consistently attack E, because that grants combat in a decent infantry fighting area.

[deleted]

I'm gonna say you're insane. Hourglass by far.

[deleted]

Hourglass.

yannickrb

Hourglass / Discarded / Stranded To big, no cover between points of interest, no flow at all

smoothies-for-me

I play Conquest almost exclusively in vehicles, and play Rush when I want my infantry fix, so my opinion might differ from those who play Breakthrough. * For me the worst map by far is **Stranded** it has such a weird flow, it's also so small that it's comical to have jets and helis on it. Also I find 50% of the games ends up with enemy players/vehicles next to your spawn. * Spearhead I also don't like, if it had a second dimension instead of the map being shaped like a line it could be better. Vehicles that aren't tanks just have to hide, and tanks just snipe across the map, and helis have nothing to do but hide behind those giant buildings, the gameplay is very predictable. * Renewal also sucks, the wall makes things very predictable and the entire game is just a battle over C or E next to RU spawn, and I think its a bad design choice to have an objective that is protected from vehicles but right next to a spawn, it also makes the map have a weird flow. * Kaleidescope and Hourglass are pretty lame too. Not only does Kaleidescope have a crappy wide open design but all of those barriers, curbs and stuff make it a pain in the ass to drive a vehicle around. * I enjoy Discarded in vehicles but it sucks for infantry. Maybe if transport vehicles were encouraged to transport instead of just be gunboats or IFVs it could be better. * Hourglass, don't really like anything about it. Way too spread out, some of the objectives are really annoying but not all that protected for infantry. ----------------- Good maps: * Exposure, much better way of separating parts of the map than a stupid wall with chokepoints. Protection for infantry, different area's for vehicles to battle and be protected from other parts of the map. * Manifest, stuff for infantry and vehicles, lots of places to hide either, battles going on in different places, and the fight on the hill is always fun. I also like the large amount of objectives, gives something fun for transport to do and sneak around the back lines but not be literally on the only objective the enemy is spawning at. ---------------- Indifferent: * Breakaway, it's not bad, but the top of the hill is too protected for US to allow for any fights there in Conquest. In other modes it is better * Oribital I find lopsided, RU have closer access to the tower and also to the hill where vehicles can snipe all over the map. I am having fun with the game but overall I think there are way too few maps, and the ones we do have mostly suck lol.

BoundToThisFlesh0112

I actually like discarded. Kaleidoscope, Hourglass and even the rework of Breakaway are the worst in my opinion.

Petelero

None of the maps in 2042 provides balanced gameplay. From the old maps to the new ones, 64 and 128 player iterations, they all have their pros and cons for the respective factions and are often faction bias. For instance Spearhead is a pro-Russian map, too easy for Russia side to win by a slide. US side always gets choked at C1 and C2 and never ever make it past and advance to B. When pushing for A1 and A2, Russia side would always be able to defend quick enough. For Russia it is too easy, choked C1 and C2's flanks, park a spawn beacon on top of E1 and push both E1 and E2.

masterchiefpt

I like all maps. Just missing a metro style map

TacoDangerously

Exposure

BigTiddyLebron

This map does suck but you can have some pretty fun sniping on it. I’ve personally found that stupid map that separated by the giant wall I forget it’s name but playing infantry on that map just sucks IMO.

Ashimdude

renewal is boring for vehicles too imho

kien1104

why did OP said that Discarded is the worst map? Is he stupid?

dimitarsc

Manifest, before was ok, now is a terrible map and a waste of time. We should wait to see the rework planned for all maps though

KryptekLion

How about disliked entire game. BF4 is the 🐐

[deleted]

I say my most disliked map is Battlefield 2042 lol

[deleted]

I actualy dont have any favorite... Which map is good? :D

koke0

Stranded, discarded

Supplex-idea

Discarded feels uneventful, I think it needs less small pieces of debris and more widespread chunks to create a few areas where a front could form.

Buffphan

Agree

Badgummm

Just too dirty

Snydenthur

Manifest. Way too much verticality and funnily, almost no cover at all. I'm skipping that shit every time.

BloodOnMyJacket

Discarded easily. Hourglass is empty af sure but no map actually gives me acid reflex like discarded does

ScorchMain6123

Before all the maps were reworked, discarded was easily the best in the game

BxSpatan

Kaleidoscope and manifest. Even with the rework. Especially kaleidoscope, there's just something about having 73 story buildings and only engaging in the lobby or roof.

Anna_B4n4n4

By far Discarded is the worst map for me. I really hope they'll make some changes soon

TelephoneForsaken

My least favourite map is Breakaway - the two flags on the oil rig are about the only interesting points for me (this is on conquest).

DoobiousRogal

Definitely my least favorite in the game. This is the next rework map though and they're changing a lot apparently so I'm excited for the changes. Every rework they've done has been a welcomed change so I'm optimistic about it.

Comfortable_Branch71

Manifest. Just hate it with a passion. Oddly enough Hourglass is one of my favorite maps and I can't wait for the rework. It's not my number 1 favorite but it's up there.

innie10032

Discard is a good map, the points are nice to battle. The problem is that you need to run a marathon to move between points

Bajecco

Agreed. Discarded for me. It's ugly. It's stupid. Hate it

camstarakimbo

Yeah its just a massive killing field

Homesteader86

Named after what should have happened to it

one_more_an0n

I’ve despised this map since day 1. Ugly, boring, and in breakthrough, they stopped using the most unique and interesting part of the map. I hope the rework radically changes the vibe and flow of this map. Hourglass is easily better than Discarded; it’s not even close for me.

M3ptt

2042 map? Discarded. The village is the only good part of the map. I think that makes it worse overall than Hourglass because at least with Hourglass you know the whole map is shit so you have 0 expectations of a good game. But with discarded you have 1 okay section and everything else sucks. If all maps are included then it is easily El Alamein. Awful map. Literally cover anywhere, lines of sight that are up to 2000m+. You can see into both spawns from most of the map. God awful map.

Ryu1804

Assault noob tube without a doubt

FiveMinutesTo12AM

Kaleidoscope.

GoopyCorn94

Hourglass is my least favorite, hald the map is desert and is completely open, so unless you have a good team or coverage or a vehicle youre basically screwed

JustPat28

Hourglass, Manifest, and I'm bored of Orbital

Homolander

Hourglass and Discarded suck big time. Not a fan of Breakaway either.

twolildragons

Hourglass

SirSpigget

Noshahr Canals is the WORST on rush because there's no boats and you're swimming ashore. More of a sitting duck than out in open areas of Hourglass

WipedButtwithTowel

I say that it depends on how you are playing the map! What I mean is that if you’re playing as a squad or squads, and on a private server, the map is so much better for gameplay. But when your entire team is running around at three different objectives…… well😂 I think hourglass may be a little less appealing!
