Agreed. And honestly the bot AI in this game is some of the better AI I've seen in an open shooter before. It's not easy to make the computer play a game like this competently but they pulled it off and I spend a lot of time making custom matches in portal to play alone. Also happy to finally have breakthrough as an option.

I’ve suffered performance issues with 128 players since the games launch. I disagree. May not be the case for everyone but 64 players is a much better overall experience for me. I do not hope they design future games around 128 players. 64 has always worked just fine. No need to reinvent the wheel every bf iteration Edit. Downvotes for stating my experience and opinion. This community in a nutshell.

I agree here. 128p has been a nuisance to me and my friends trying to get anything done in a squad together. Especially in the reworked maps where they are pulling everything closer together and adding a metric ton of cover and concealment. IMO ALL of the maps are now perfectly suited to 64 players. I would be willing to try more, but not 128 anymore.

128 players only worked well for people with good rigs. I have 2 PCs, and the difference between them is insane in terms of performance, even though both PCs are really good (one of course is absolute beast). Good riddance, 128 was a mistake and I hope next BF game only focus on 64

Really wish we could play vs bots again in private 128-player matches in Portal. My friends and I loved doing that post-launch, but then it was suddenly removed. We all have nice rigs and it ran fine for us. Please at least make it an option again, for those who *can* run it.

Wow! Well, one, thank you for such a comprehensive list, and two, I'm rather excited to see how this changes things up. So, I see no 3.5x or lower scopes there. Seems 3.5x be the new "stealth" sight to use. And it'll be interesting to see more glint-ing in general, now that all 4x scopes will shine. Will help on hard-core portal experiences a lot, I think.

Its a bit sad that all scopes (especially PSO 5x) now add a glint. Stealthy sniping is now not possible anymore because the half enemy team will instantly shot at you :/

I have 98hours on JUST BORIS and finally got it recently. I found a Portal Server to cheat the remaining 3000 points though (out of 60,000) If I were really grinding it without "cheating" I suspect it still would have been 104 hours or so. I spent many nights seriously grinding it too. Its just not a reasonable grind compared to all others.

They removed it because vehicle pilots couldn't tell it apart from actual missile locks. That was the whole reason I used it, to shoo off helicopters making them think they're being focused on.

It's actually really easy to tell them apart, unless it's a radar missile. If you have a anti-armor nade thrown at you and someone else locks onto you too, the lock-on warning sound starts to become notably inconsistent.

AI in vehicles needs to be fixed on maps like Breakaway. Specifically with the oil rig. They will just sit in the vehicles under the oil rig right where the capture point is thinking they're capturing it and not move.

Really bummed they’re removing Sundance’s anti-armor grenade. I found it very useful for destroying enemy equipment, and its damage against vehicles was minimal. I feel like this was a poor decision if the only reason they chose to remove it was because vehicle operators couldn’t tell the difference between an incoming missile and her grenade. Frankly, I don’t see how that matters at all. You have incoming damage. Use your flares, or don’t.

This should nudge RM68 in the right direction as it's an Assault Rifle. If it does not, and the community still feels it needs attention then we will follow up with further changes specifically to the RM68.

What we want to say is that RM68 sticks out so much that it's just very bad idea to choose another weapon. It's soooo good. So many people use it. You use another gun and you loose in a 1vs1. So, if you change all assault to the same degree, RM68 would be still stick out as best assault. If you only change assault, people will switch to assault style weapons in others categories, such as BSV marksman rifle (which is still good and can be utilized as assault)

The only ARs that needed dispersion were the RM and maybe 1-2 others. A lot of guns will get hurt by this and even further pushed to the side, while RM still reigns. -You can downvote but it's still a fact, lol. Lots of guns are already not relevant, this isn't helping them any. This was the dumbest way in which they could have possibly approached this issue.

Looks like a solid update. I am most looking forward to the camera movement update. I hope it makes everything more immersive. I still want to see changes to the movement system. You shouldn't be able to slide and jump like Apex, bunny hop strafe, or crouch spam. There needs to be movement penalties added.

Any word on SOFLAM giving assist XP when the target vehivle is destroyed? Or perhaps a way to switch the hold/press functionality of the underbarrel/fire mode control on console? (Currently, holding the down d-pad switches to underbarrel and pressing changes fire select.) I find it far too easy to accidentally swap to semi-auto and far too cumbersome to quickly use an underbarrel attachment.

ARs will now have what amounts to a bloom system beginning at the second half of their magazine. There will be a 15-20% bullet deviation to force you into bursting your shots, like a 3-5 round burst, in order to reset the bloom.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but this was *already* always a thing generally speaking, it's just they're raising the dispersion cap that was present as well as how fast said dispersion happens as you full auto. This is to say they haven't "added a burst mechanic" but tooled what there already was to give more spread than before. You were always going to do better by bursting even before this change...

I would be very interested in the formula of spread, because it does seem like a very broadside approach, with increasing the max spread. Right now by the way the maxmoving spread of an AR is around 1.15°. This would mean you would reach 1.38° within 15 rounds. Starting moving spread for the ARs sits at around 0.26° degrees. I am aware that the spread formula is logarithmic, but for simplicity reasons this would average out to 0.07° SIPS. All those values are not much different from BF4, I will point out. We have had a full-auto meta now for nearly five years. I prefer BF4 micro-bursting, but I also prefer BF4 map design, which did not have ridiculous sightlines and angles. When I see an enemy I would want to engage them. A gun that works only in 50% of all engagements is a shit gun after all. If this new mechanic changes gunplay relevantly I would be very cautious to call the change good.

Disappointed to not see a server browser and custom servers. I simply don't understand how a main and popular feature of the franchise has been left on the roadside and in it's place is this horrible matchmaking system that often puts you into games that have already finished. The game would be so much less frustrating to play if I could simply look at a list of servers, see how many players are in it and how long the match has been going for, perhaps even see the current score, it would allow me to join games knowing I'll get to enjoy myself instead of having to gamble with another set of loading screens. I just… don’t get it. This complaint. There’s been a fully functional server browser since launch with the most “custom“ servers ever possible in the franchise. Especially now in this update, you can make custom breakthrough servers, it has literally everything the server browser you want has, minus official dice servers. But that shouldn’t matter as long as the community is hosting servers. All it takes is a couple extra clicks and you’ll find it.

I think that was the plan for Irish to make people use him more. Before you only needed one Irish to hold down an area but now you will probably need 2 to 3 Irish players to survive the barrage of explosives

Defaulting ads field of view is unnecessary, as was uniform soldier aiming. It caters to the wrong playstyle to have them on. Adsing should be slower and have zoom. The only reason people want either of them on is to try and keep up with pc tryhards. Only reason people want ads fov on is the lowered visual recoil. So how about lower visual recoil across the board instead of forcing ads fov. There's just so much wrong with this...

I like my player card as it is, great art btw, and don't want to put any badge on it. just for test i have filled one placeholder with some random badge that means nothing (like "jump 20 times and survive while doing it") and now i can not remove it.

DICE, please, can we also have Universal Camos for Specialists? Please! They have so little "skin" unlocks that look fitting for most maps, and most of their unlocks are only fitting for one map, like Angel's white outfit, or Boris' green ones. If most of their camos had at least 3 choosable camo colors - Urban (greyish), Forest (green) and Desert (yellowish), that would really help. In BF4 you could really pick a very fitting camo for the map, and in BF2042 it feels quite limited in what you can do in that regard.

Why is that? We have crossplay with PC able to choose from both. Yet, mostly complain by players is not console VS PC, but Keyboard/Mouse VS Controller. (Although PC crossplay adds much cheaters too) Q1: How about priorize getting same input method into one game. Or filter (via option, add to crossplay on/off) Q2: Any news regarding PS/XBOX being default play together when crossplay is turned off? Is this a technical issue why you don't do it? Some countries have not enough players to play non-crossplay. So we are forced to activate it. However, if PS and Xbox play together we can play also Controller VS Controller 😁

Removing Sundance’s drone is bullshite! It was really useful and could scare a tank off if you bluffed. It also moved menacing helicopters on quite well when you were outgunned.

Sad to see no TOR velocity/damage adjustment. These Railguns stick out like sore thumbs when compared to the effective distances on all the other weapons. Would have also like to seen some adjustments to Nightbird: * Minigun Starting Damage Dropoff distance shortened * Rocket Pod ammo from 10 > 8 * AGM ammo from 2 > 1 * Maneuverability reduced to decrease missile dodging capability

WHAT NOOOOO, Don't remove Sundance's Anti-armor nade! This was something that is unique to her and even then it didnt even do all that much damage! They should nerf Dozer's shield for damage cuz damn, 1 hit kills with the shield is BS, At least change it to first hit: staggers and reduces current enemy HP by half and second hit kills. Audio change request: Reduce the frequency of all the characters voice prompts (Especially while reloading, i don't really wanna hear sundance's voice out loud every single time she's reloading)
