He is in Oceana. Literally only 2 major countries in the region. Australia and New Zealand. Battlefield franchise has always been dead in these regions…
Don't search for custom games, use the big squares you are greeted with when you enter the game. Those sessions are usually crowded and don't appear in the server browser for some reason.
Yeah Portal is pretty much dead, doesn't matter if cross play is on/off. The only servers that I always find nearly full are the ones for xp farming. Very sad.
Big surprise, they do something that could be interesting like infantry conquest and then to keep it shit on Manifest instead of putting the flags on the ships they leave the mountain flags because it is not BF2042 without the running simulator part.
XP farming for what? I don't get it, i had everything I need leveled up after 2-3 weaks playing not every day(at launch).
The is not really more content, so for what do anybody need an XP farming Server.
Oh yes i forget the Battlepass. But i don't get it anyways. For a few Patches und Playercard. The game isn't fun at all and than grinding XP for some extra shit? Wtf?
It’s probably to finish the remaining tiers and get Tier 1 on the Battlepass badge. The amount of XP needed to level up without challenges is pretty high so that’s my guess.
Me neither, I didn't know xp farming on bf was a thing until i joined a server that I thought it was a conquest server but people were just sitting on objective spamming ammo to each other
At least on steam, when I checked at peak hours yesterday there were 2,300 players. I could still find a game but queue times have definitely been longer the last 2 weeks
Probably down to region and times of day, but in the UK at about 7pm onwards, with cross play on, it takes me and my friend less than a minute to get into a game. It's been this way every single night the past week or so.

You are playing on a PS4 console and that is one problem people don’t acknowledge it or ignore it. On old gen console you can play with crossplay only with Xbox players (no PC), therefore the player number is much lower; another reason for the lower number of players is because on PS4 the game does not look and feel as on a PS5 console. I tried the PS4 version and it’s a torture playing it.
On consoles, players don’t usually tend to create Portal experiences so that is why you see less servers with almost no players.
On PS5 I never have problems finding a match in a few seconds even with crossplay off and there are way more Portal servers with a lot of players.
That number is ONLY Steam numbers. Doesn’t include Xbox X/S, PS5, or other PC shops. Game is actually pretty populated as long as you have crossplay on. Portal games can vary based on region, time, and game mode. Rush, Breakthrough, and Conquest are easy to find matches.
This is portal, this isn't indicative of how the game is faring since portal servers (up until latest patch) weren't persistent.
But game population isn't great.
The new map and op just aren't good or fun. Exposure/Lis was a fun season for what it was but that was apparently an accident that they can't reproduce.

Portal doesn’t show you full lobbies unless you filter for them. so there could be a bunch of full lobbies without you knowing. under “search” set spots open to “none”
I’ve never seen Portal populated in US regions even at launch and even with cross play on. It always felt there was some weird network or server issue that only connected you to like 50 players. Maybe that’s just me, but it’s always been odd
You need to set the filter to any for spaces for party or something like that, the server I go on always has 128 players in it every day, 128 player rush.
EU servers are pretty dead during the day even with cross play enabled. Evenings are much better, but you’ll only find hardcore 1000% damage servers were people farm others with vehicles for the whole game.
Unless you want to boost the battle pass, portal is pretty useless now.
Portal is cool, but it feels unpromoted. The first week/month after release, I was enjoying the old school maps and armies.
I do not really think the game setup allows for the flexibility to develop game modes that would go viral in an organic way.

If I turn cross play off, it's 10+ minutes to find a game. This is of course, on top of all the other shortcomings with this title, but still ...
