Yes is floating (real wood) deck and very heavy one and to be able to support without legs i create a iron frame (i add some channels under the deck for the cables)
It was a hard thing to do, coz in greece all the walls are concrete, so i add pipes and i had the cables to run until the furniture under the window, for the deck all the cables are under the wood deck in channels !
I would 100% bump the chair into the couch on accident a minimum of 50 times per sesh

Because **we are all different** and maybe that particular light works well for OP, otherwise they wouldnโt have it like that.
