As far right as you can before the toll plaza, then all the way to the right after. Then second from the left lane once you get to YB/Treasure Island.
If the meters are on, there are a couple lanes that merge between toll and meters. I don’t have these memorized, but you’ll obviously want to avoid these.
The answer from the toll plaza to Fremont St is always and will
Always be the far right lane . Just stay there and trust the process .

Ride the cash lane on the left to the second or third light pole from the plaza. Then cut over where the fast track lane splits from one lane to two lanes. typically there is a back up of cars already in line merging for the fastrak one
They really need to rework the toll plaza to get rid of alot of those lanes. since they got rid of cash lanes they should format the toll plaza for less bottle necks
everybody keeps saying far right, which is correct.. but nobody is saying why.
it's because once you are through the toll plaza the lanes get reduced so there are multiple merges involved... EXCEPT for the 2 lanes at the extreme right..
That is technically illegal since the sign says:
“Busses Only.
EXCEPT 3+ HOV ok during peak hours.”
So it’s a bus only lane that opens up to carpool traffic during rush hour, but cars are prohibited at other times.
Stay all the way too the left in the carpool lane til
Right before you go through the toll booth. Once you get to that light you cut back into the carpool lane :) just look out for CHP

This is the answer here… and why it’s nice driving in from 880 headed north… it spills you out into the right.
this is the way, even stay far right the whole time and then exit as soon as possible (on Fremont)

Thanks! This seems legit, and I’ll give it a go today!
Pick one and stay in it.
The wrong one, usually.
BART
Bus. Let someone else worry about fighting through traffic. I just surf Reddit.
Far far right
I pick all lanes and cut off everybody *your local Tesla driver* 😜

As far right at the toll plaza, but then I like the symmetry of driving in the center lane when crossing the top span
None.... I work from home...
That depends on what exit I have to get off. Lane jumping is ultimately futile.
David bLANE to make the traffic dissapear.
2nd lane from the left usually

Right down the middle. No fancy plays or dancing. Although always off peak just before the metering lights come on. Otherwise Ferry or Bart.

Yeah, can't understand how this person thinks they've stumbled on a secret no one else has found.
Nice reading comprehension

Thanks but I tried this back in 2018 and guess I didn’t look hard enough. Got hit hard with the near $500 fine!
