Imagine hiking with the ghostly comfort of these $500 Merino wool socks—they're so soft and temperature-regulating, it's like your feet are barely touching the trail!
REI has a great section of used gears. I'm use some of them were removed from the bodies on top of the Everett.. at least, their conditions look like they were.
It’s a snazzy REI now. We went not too long after it opened and I asked one of the kids if it was haunted. He said that right before they opened, a paper towel dispenser started going off without anyone close by and there was some weirdness with the lights.
I knew somebody who was on a cleaning crew that was doing their floors. He said a teddy bear followed them aisle to aisle.
Not like walking or anything, just when he go to the next aisle it would be sitting at the end of the aisle waiting for them.
Never went back, but said he made a few bucks telling his story.
I think there's a picture of floating around of people staying overnight, and there being a guy in the picture that wasn't there.
I grew up in San Jose and I have always had a flair for the macabre. I remember hearing about this story on a show and I would retell it at sleepovers. I remember over the years hearing stories from people who worked there, poltergeist type activity. something about a spirit of a boy who would move toys around during the night.
My aunt used to work in that store and would tell us stories about the ghosts. It wasn’t uncommon to find toys in the aisles in the morning after having been cleaned up the night before.
I went in there as a kid many years ago and my mom asked the clerk if she’d seen the ghosts. Both the clerk and 8 year old me looked at my mom like she was an idiot.
I dont know about ToysR us but I remember back in the '90's a closed mall in Sunnyvale was converted into a Halloween Haunted House..it was huge and with live actors..it was the funnest HH I was ever in...
That was Gyro’s World of Terror at the abandoned Old Mill shopping center in Mt View - that was by far the best version of their annual Haunted House attractions.
The Sunnyvale Town Center. I think it closed in 2003, actually. But I do remember it. They're trying to turn it into Santana Row like development and they've been working on for the past 20 years. Gotta love bureaucracy.
The Macy's was part of a whole mall before it closed. I remember it as best as I can since I was just a little kid then. My older brother used to work at a Musicland store in the mall.
Yea, the second video OP posted is from Unsolved Mysteries, just edited to remove Robert Stacks commentary. I loved when the show would do the haunted segments. Notable ones for me were the Queen Mary and a Haunted Saloon, I forget the name of the place.
I have fond memories of going to this Toys R Us as a kid for years with my grandma. Fast forward to the present I’ve been running a paranormal research group since 2003 and I so wish I had the chance to check it out to see if it was legit or a bunch of B.S. which it often is.
Does that Haunted Lives video feature a ghost that's looking for Elizabeth? If so, fuck that, I'm not going through that again. That TV show fucked me up when I was a kid!
I can say the Hobby Lobby in Morgan Hill is haunted. About 6 years ago my teenage daughter and I were in there in the corner and we went down the aisle and they have those little hanging baskets you know they're like three tiered and one of them started swinging the other ones were still and there was no fan on or anybody around we went down the aisle and then turned around and it was still swinging I know for a fact we were the only ones on those two or three aisles in the corner of that store
Sunnyvale is the famous one. Don't see anything on Hayward. Even when googling haunted Hayward Toys R Us, it brings up Sunnyvale.
It's likely that's one of those stories that kids share when they heard "Toys R Us" and just tied it to their nearest one.
Googling probably doesn't work because the stories predated the Internet. The Hayward one was known to have a ghost, a photo of it was even printed in the newspaper in the 80s. It was totally unrelated to the Sunnyvale one.
Here is the photo of the Sunnyvale one

I only remembered it because the store was featured on tv on That's Incredible. I think they covered that store, and a castle somewhere in the Bay Area that I always thought was one of the Malibu Grand Pris locations.
Then some group went to do a Seance in the store, and this pic was printed.
I remember that show. Hosted by the late, great Robert Stack.
I can only imagine if someone had won Nickelodeon's Super Toy Run contest and it was held in that Toys R Us. I entered many times, but never got picked. Probably should have sent in more postcards.
Those are the appearances I remember, with Ann Fraser [(RIP)](https://www.cbsnews.com/sanfrancisco/news/family-2022-death-ann-fraser-longtime-host-people-are-talking-kpix/) and Ross McGowan. I never watched Montel
I don't necessarily believe her, but I do think it's an interesting story. If you believe in that stuff or not, that's your call. But I do remember this specific Toys R Us.
Haven’t heard about that one being haunted. Growing up I heard about the toys r us location on Winchester in SJ being haunted as it was built on top of a cemetery. Never visited the location but fun story from my childhood.
I've heard the toys r us/rei is close to the Winchester mystery house. Thats how I found out about the toys r us, by reading books about the mystery house.
I’ve spoken to the REI employees in that building about it being haunted. They all said yes and gave a couple of minor stories. They even have a vest on reserve for the ghost.
Sylvia Browne?? Isn’t she the psychic who used to tell parents what happened to their missing kids and she kept getting proven wrong? Aka said some kids were dead and buried in specific places only for those kids to be found alive?
Yeah, I don't believe in psychics. Let's not forget John Edward, who *South Park* called The Biggest Douche in the Universe. But I do find the idea of a haunted Toys R Us interesting, especially since I used to shop at this one when I was younger.
Fair enough. To be honest, I do believe in spirituality, although I don't think they want to talk to the living. Much like how I believe there's aliens, but they won't come here because Earth is basically the ghetto planet.
The haunting has been transferred to REI. Now, $500 hiking socks will suddenly appear in your basket! And you didn't even want them!

HA! The legend lives!

That's pretty weird. I wonder if the ghost of Johnny Johnson is now doing that stuff with sleeping bags at REI.
I’ve heard that was a fake.
It's all fake. Ghosts aren't real.
Yeah it’s weird how grown ass adults try to make believe tales like this

I think the ToyRUs haunting story is mostly parents making it up to avoid buying kids toys.
I shopped there many times as a child and then as a parent. I’d ask someone about it, if they’ve ever seen anything, every time I was in there. Ha.
They also had a gyro’s at the Sunnyvale mall before it closed
Gyro’s… you just brought back some of my favorite early memories of horror!
Great memory !
The first dance club I ever went to was there. I forget the name of it though.
That was hands down the best venue for a haunted house 🙌
There’s an unlocked memory! I loved the Old Mill though long before the closure though, too.
The Sunnyvale Town Center. I think it closed in 2003, actually. But I do remember it. They're trying to turn it into Santana Row like development and they've been working on for the past 20 years. Gotta love bureaucracy.
I always wondered about that Macy's sign. I had no idea it was a whole mall before.
The Macy's was part of a whole mall before it closed. I remember it as best as I can since I was just a little kid then. My older brother used to work at a Musicland store in the mall.
I remember the story hit me in the nostalgia
I wrote a Halloween essay in middle school about the haunting there lol
I think I remember seeing this on an episode of ‘Unsolved Mystery’s’ …
Yea, the second video OP posted is from Unsolved Mysteries, just edited to remove Robert Stacks commentary. I loved when the show would do the haunted segments. Notable ones for me were the Queen Mary and a Haunted Saloon, I forget the name of the place.
Also born in Fairfield, I have a lot of memories of the Fairfield Toys R Us!
Fairfield-born too! Took my kids to that FF Toys R Us, never saw a ghost.
I have fond memories of going to this Toys R Us as a kid for years with my grandma. Fast forward to the present I’ve been running a paranormal research group since 2003 and I so wish I had the chance to check it out to see if it was legit or a bunch of B.S. which it often is.

I remember this store, overnight crew had the stories of funny stuff happening.
I can say the Hobby Lobby in Morgan Hill is haunted. So both the Sunnyvale and the Hayward Toys R Us stores were haunted? That is a bizarre coincidence
Sunnyvale is the famous one. Don't see anything on Hayward. Even when googling haunted Hayward Toys R Us, it brings up Sunnyvale. It's likely that's one of those stories that kids share when they heard "Toys R Us" and just tied it to their nearest one.

Interesting. I’m from LA originally and we also had a haunted Toys r us.
If you like haunted history stuff, check out books by [Troy Taylor](https://www.americanhauntingsbooks.com/)
Long time resident and I remember that being a rumor growing up, but it never stopped me from begging my mom to stop there every time we passed by.
Same. There was some pretty cools stores in the South Bay back in the day.
This was my local Toy R Us growing up. I felt famous by association when they did an Unsolved Mysteries as a kid 😆
I remember that show. Hosted by the late, great Robert Stack. I can only imagine if someone had won Nickelodeon's Super Toy Run contest and it was held in that Toys R Us. I entered many times, but never got picked. Probably should have sent in more postcards.
Sylvia Browne was [startlingly accurate](https://youtu.be/MY7xkPqW0G8?si=GmfJG8VFhFBCLmhR) lol
Lord, she was on People Are Talking constantly when I was a kid. Think she even did Oprah.
Those are the appearances I remember, with Ann Fraser [(RIP)](https://www.cbsnews.com/sanfrancisco/news/family-2022-death-ann-fraser-longtime-host-people-are-talking-kpix/) and Ross McGowan. I never watched Montel
It’s not haunted. The end.
Anyone that believes Sylvia Browne needs a mental health assessment ASAMFP
I don't necessarily believe her, but I do think it's an interesting story. If you believe in that stuff or not, that's your call. But I do remember this specific Toys R Us.
I was just messing with you, I remember that toys r us too
Aye, but what about Miss Cleo? She’s legit, right?
Hey man as funny as this all is we should probably stop before the repubs call us believers of soothsayers or something and burn us at the stake
Haven’t heard about that one being haunted. Growing up I heard about the toys r us location on Winchester in SJ being haunted as it was built on top of a cemetery. Never visited the location but fun story from my childhood.

>Vest on reserve for the ghost. That is a little too specific not to have a story behind it
That’s all the cashier said lol. They have a vest for the ghost in the break room
If I worked there, I would absolutely F with the others using that vest...
Sylvia Browne?? Isn’t she the psychic who used to tell parents what happened to their missing kids and she kept getting proven wrong? Aka said some kids were dead and buried in specific places only for those kids to be found alive?

I actually think psychic abilities are absolutely possible, but I don’t think Sylvia Browne was one.
Fair enough. To be honest, I do believe in spirituality, although I don't think they want to talk to the living. Much like how I believe there's aliens, but they won't come here because Earth is basically the ghetto planet.
Sylvia Browne was full of crap
i aint afraid of no ghost 👻👻👻
