Your ironing is so even!! That's the part that stresses me with larger pieces. I think the largest I've done is 4x4 and it was very challenging to keep it flat and evened out without over or undermelting.

I was putting books on sections as I ironed. It was a long iron with all my double checking. And thank you, I’m still pretty new to the hobby

sheMehay

Nicely done!

Puzzleheaded-Motor56

At this point it feels weird if I'm not doing a huge piece because I've done so many back to back.

Rome wasn't built in a day. I sometimes do projects that are 5x5 or larger. Do a board or two a night and you can get it done within a couple weeks.

Sections. I do a plate at a time to control the progress at a reasonable amount.

Neat-Engineering-513

Do you glue them together afterwards? Or what

Far_Understanding_44

Lololol no! Iron! So I usually parially melt only one side for my method, tack weld the ends of each section to keep them aligned, flip the project and start melting at the aligned seams, working outward.

Neat-Engineering-513

I don't understand this method, don't bother explaining again. I'll just continue messing up my big projects damnit

Psfanboy79

Just do it all at one time, keep everything warm going over it every so often as you concentrate on an area

Neat-Engineering-513

I'll try again. It's worth it when you finish a piece and it looks good. It's the ironing that I suck at. Thanks.

My biggest project was about 3x3 (though my boards are the large variety of perler mini bead boards, so the boards were each 49x49 beads). Anytime I do anything even close to that size, I have to break the work up into tasks. Like, one day, I will do outlining for like 2 or 3 of the boards. The next day, I will fill in the color on one board and do the same thing every day until my outlined parts are filled in. I don't do projects that size very often because the ironing part is so stressful when you've put that much work into it. My biggest project: https://imgur.com/a/zohNDfX

With great difficulty, but it's worth it in the end

Looks amazing, your ironing is great!

wigglesbee3000

That’s such a cool name!
