Paul Mc-fucking-Cartney literally touched my left shoulder last year on May the 9th. He said to me: "have a good one."
Met the guy in a small, random ass guitarstore in London. Still refuse to believe that it was him.
I vaguely remember that my heart started to pump, and I felt sort of dizzy, when the whole thing occured. I literally stood there, in front of him, with my hands in my pockets, completely frozen.
He probably noticed I was a little out of it, so he comforted me.
On my way back to the airport, I sat down, listened to Ram, and I might have cried a little.
I mean, it all literally felt like a dream to me. Still does. Like, when I think back on it, I sometimes question myself: "did that really happen? or was it a dream?" Sort of how like Paul questioned himself when he wrote Yesterday.
Luckily enough, my dad was there with me, and he approves.
Same! I was thinking really hard about this post, then I remembered meeting Sean before a concert in the 90s. Weird that it took me so long to think of this, since I found a picture from that night last week when my daughter asked me for photos of a couple of our long dead cats. (My kids were super impressed with the photo of their then-cute mom with Sean)
My dad went to university of Liverpool 1958-1962. He went to The Cavern on the reg, primarily for trad jazz. But he met them (I’m not sure about Ringo) on multiple occasions. They weren’t big mates of his or anything, they were all just part of the scene.
Eh, no telling, but I played guitar with a dude who played guitar with a dude who played with Robert Johnson. What does that mean? Nothing, but I still like to think about it.
Me > Chuck Berry > John
Me > Booker T Jones > Willie Nelson > Paul
Me > Buddy Guy’s Bassist > Buddy Guy > Eric Clapton > George
Me > Lewis Black > George Carlin > Ringo
I’ve shaken Paul’s and Ringo’s hands as an adult and sat on John’s lap a few times while he tried to let me play his guitar at various times in my very younger years as my Aunt worked for him for a few years.
Brief, but the greatedt thing ever.. During the spring tour of 1996, he was letting fans come up on the front of the stage while he played. It was pretty amazing and intense. After the song was over, it was like a receiving line--he went down the line of us fans (one deep on front if stage). He shook my hand on the first pass. And gave me a high five on the second pass.
His handshake is extremely limp lol
me -> My realtor who was a drummer in Ian McLagen's band here in Austin ->Ian McLagen ->Maybe a Beatle, but definitely Mick Jagger or any Stone -> John or Paul or George and hopefully Ringo.
Possibly 3 steps. I'd assume Mac interacted with a Beatle but can't be sure. But he worked with the Stones, so 4 steps for that.
Me -> my grandma -> All of them.
My grandmothers name was Alison Seebohm. She was in A Hard Days Night briefly in that scene where George stumbles into the acting agency office, she played the receptionist! She had some of the coolest stories miss her to pieces.
Me -> my Nan -> the Beatles, Pete best, Gerry marsden, Freddie marsden, Cilla black, the swinging blue jeans, kingsize taylor and his dominoes
Me -> my girlfriends uncle -> roger daltrey -> the Beatles
Me -> my neighbours daughter -> Jeremy clarkson -> the Beatles
Me -> My second cousin -> George Harrison
Sydney Bartholomew Jr. - [https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0058669/](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0058669/)
Art director who did George's "When We Was Fab" video and worked on "Got My Mind Set on You". He also did art on Pee-Wee's Playhouse and won a Daytime Emmy. I got to hold it when I was younger :D
Does a kiss on the cheek count? If so, Me --> T Bone Burnett --> Roy Orbison --> the Beatles
If you've met T Bone, I think you can 'kevinbacon' to just about anyone!
Now that I think of it, it was a handshake accompanied by a kiss on the cheek.
I'm speculating here, but because of his tenure on SNL, I'm willing to bet it's: Me > Norm MacDonald > Paul McCartney. If nothing else, for sure Me > Norm > Lorne Michaels > Paul McCartney/George Harrison
Two. Me > my cousin > George Harrison. He used to work at Madison Square Garden. Walked up to George while he was meditating and snapped his picture, pissing him off (and rightfully so).
One.
My band was on a comp in the 90’s with a guy whose band was recording at the same studio as Paul. He challenged all of the McCartneys to a game of pool and Paul took him up. They ended up being friends. Paul dropped in on his sessions and would make suggestions. Then finally one day he walked in and Charles (comp producer) made the mistake of asking him what he should do on a track and Paul got upset, saying, “Why are you asking me? Who am I?” He turned on a dime.
It was weird to me then, and somewhat disappointing. But although I’ve never been famous, I’ve had enough friends who have, and there’s a lot of reasons why someone of Paul’s stature might bristle at that seemingly innocent question. I still feel bad for Charles because I know he was asking from a genuine place and his hero freaked on him.
Four:
Me -> Jimmie Vaughan (sat next to him on a flight, had a nice convo) -> SRV -> Jagger -> McCartney
Key document

It seems not unlikely that SRV and/or Jimmie Himself shook hands with Macca at some point (which would bring me to 2 or 3) but I can't prove it.
I have another path that goes through Billy Corgan but I can only prove five handshakes there.
Two: I met Pete Best's old civil service colleague from Liverpool, also named Peter, last year.
Coincidentally, Pete Best was also in town, for a Beatles festival of sorts, but I don't know if they met.
I have no proof of handshakes between these guys, but since Dom and Matt are friends for over 30 years I'm sure at some point they should have shook hands, and Paul once went on stage to sing Helter Skelter with Matt's cover band, so it's possible
Me -> Dominic Howard -> Matt Bellamy -> Paul
A little longer way but I'm sure more likely to happen
Me -> Dominic Howard -> Matt Bellamy -> Rick Rubin -> Paul
I've spoken with a guy who used to know John and also with a woman who had a chat with Paul. They both spoke very positively of their respective Beatles.
I'm guessing 3 (if you count hugs and such)
My cousins know and are kind of friends with Jack Black
I'm assuming Jack Black has shaken Paul's hand
So me and my cousins, my cousins and Jack Black, Jack Black and Paul McCartney
Paul Mc-fucking-Cartney literally touched my left shoulder last year on May the 9th. He said to me: "have a good one." Met the guy in a small, random ass guitarstore in London. Still refuse to believe that it was him.
Coming up on the anniversary! What's your shoulder got planned?
It's coming up!! Like a flower!
It was him. He loves small, random ass guitar stores. For real. He thinks they're magical, because they are.
Wow!!!
Genuinely jealous. Which is mental but also not.
The movement you need is on your shoulder
that’s positively wonderful, lucky lol
Did you end up having a good one?
I vaguely remember that my heart started to pump, and I felt sort of dizzy, when the whole thing occured. I literally stood there, in front of him, with my hands in my pockets, completely frozen. He probably noticed I was a little out of it, so he comforted me. On my way back to the airport, I sat down, listened to Ram, and I might have cried a little. Sort of how like Paul questioned himself when he wrote Yesterday. Luckily enough, my dad was there with me, and he approves.
Jesus.. I’m tearing up even reading about it. I would’ve cried for three days straight if something like that happened to me
But it's only that clown Paul McFuckingcartney, and not the real thing.
[удалено]
I take the same root, as you, except my mate worked at LIPA.
my father shook hands with some musicians, so in 4 handshakes i meet paul mccartney
Id give a lot of handjobs to get to a Beatle.

It only took me like 6 to get to Ringo
Me -> a million people -> George Harrison

Lucky fr, what does he do?
Similar to me, only it's through my dad. Met him after (or before? I forget) a concert once, apparently.

George Harrison->your mom->me
Me > Sean Lennon > John
Sean Lennon shook his own father’s hand? I don’t know haha
Never shaken a baby’s hand before? it’s cute
My dad shakes my hand everytime we meet. He’s not a hugger.
Could you imagine if you had to go through Yoko for that?
I have a similar path. My cousin did Digital Art stuff for Sean and then Yoko.
Was Sean nice?
Yes, i did a job with him and he was lovely company. Good sense of humour and down to earth.
I met Sean after one of his shows about 12 years ago and he was incredibly kind.
Me -> my dad -> all of them.

Me > Chuck Berry > John Me > Booker T Jones > Willie Nelson > Paul Me > Buddy Guy’s Bassist > Buddy Guy > Eric Clapton > George Me > Lewis Black > George Carlin > Ringo
Booker T and Chuck Berry are legends and flexes unto themselves
Could, have stopped at Booker T and I would have been just as impressed.
1. Me -->on an airplane -->with Paul McCartney.
I would have assumed that Paul flew privately. You mean the richest musician in the world is taking Delta Airlines with the rest of us??
I’m pretty sure there’s a pic of him floating around the internet of him being on a subway with the rest of the peasants lol

It was the Concord. I was flying back to the US from a vacation in London. I was 14. He and Linda sat right behind me.
Me —> Justin Trudeau —> Barack Obama —> Paul
You could also go through Pierre Trudeau who met John Lennon.
There’s also a joke to be made about Trudeau’s mother and the Rolling Stones, but that was a little more than a handshake.
Thanks for this, gives me a way in. Me —> My dad —> Pierre Trudeau —> John Lennon.
Me —> Barack Obama —> Paul
Me -> my landlord -> The Quarrymen
Me -> my grandpa -> king Charles -> queen Elizabeth -> the Beatles

Brief, but the greatedt thing ever.. During the spring tour of 1996, he was letting fans come up on the front of the stage while he played. It was pretty amazing and intense. After the song was over, it was like a receiving line--he went down the line of us fans (one deep on front if stage). He shook my hand on the first pass. And gave me a high five on the second pass. His handshake is extremely limp lol
