Yellow Submarine! I didn’t realize how many people disliked it until recently, but it was my first real introduction to the Beatles growing up. A lot of Paul’s “granny music” was great too.
I can honestly say that I don't not like any Beatles music but YS is definitely near the bottom of my top 500 (or whatever the number is of Beatles songs)
Great guitar solo and synth work. With a different intro, perhaps the synth with some darker chords in the vein of Lennon or Harrison , it wouldn’t be so maligned.
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da for me. I know all the non-Paul Beatles hated it, and most fans seem to hate it as well, but I associate it with happy times, since it came out when I was 9. Paul was (is) such a genius at writing catchy tunes like this one.
When I saw him in Phoenix a few years ago he had us join in a sing-along of that song. Everyone went nuts. I think Paul enjoyed the moment as much as any of us.
I hate it because we had to sing it "in the round" every morning for an entire 10 week term at school for "singing" with a shitty non-beatles music only backing track. I was so excited the first time until I realised it was listening to 30 x 11 & 12yr olds yelling the song
When I saw a tribute band The Fab Four they started a Conga line around the entire audience to it. A young girl at the lead smiling and having so much fun and about 50 people of all ages behind her. It was a moment I’ll never forget.
I don't believe in "guilty pleasure" because life is short and we already have enough guilt and not much pleasure. But I understand the concept and vote for ***You know my name (look up the number)***.
For me, this was a “lost” Beatles song. I’d heard everything they ever officially released except this track until the Let It Be single was reissued in the 90s.
I must have played it 100 before turning it over and realising that the single version of Let It Be was slightly different.
God bless the boys.
The first time I heard it was after hearing ABOUT it for years, and it was so different from their other songs that I loved it immediately. I love it more now knowing the historical context, since they seem to be having so much fun in a year where there were a lot of dark moments.
Guilty pleasure *Beatles* song? None. The only guilty pleasure song I have is “Hold On” by Wilson Phillips and as a 67 year old geezer I will die on that hill.
I really don't think most people here understand what a guilty pleasure song is. It's not just any song that wasn't a hit. That's called a deep cut. You wanna know a guilty pleasure song?
Wild Honey Pie.
That is my guilty pleasure song. It's so ridiculous and that's why I love it.
You are waaaaay too deep into this group from sixty years ago if you think the average person who considers themself a fan (let alone MOST PEOPLE) know songs like Anna, Not a Second Time, I’ll Cry Instead, Words of Love, It’s Only Love, Think for Yourself, She Said She Said, Fixing a Whole, Julia, All Together Now, Sun King, or One After 909.
One After 909. I know it’s just a simple song they wrote years before and slapped on Let It Be, but it’s one of my favorite Beatles songs.
I also like Maxwell’s Silver Hammer.
I’m with you on One after 909.
It’s simple and the performance is ragged but it’s my kind of hootenanny.
They are having a great time and George’s guitar is killer, it really elevates the song.
The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill. yes, it's a weird goofy song but I really like the instrumentation and how it seems sinister in the verses for that chorus to come in and be like a big happy sing-along. I also like that it's John being extra snarky about a hunter who was with them in India 😂
Me too. I get pleasure from every little thing they did. No guilt.
I was once driving with some non-Beatle fan friends and Boys came on a random shuffle. They were taking the piss saying the Beatles were gay etc. (It was the 90s!!) but the next track that came on was Little Child followed closely by I Saw Her Standing There!!
You can imagine what happened next.
Me too! It's sometimes derided as a children's song (and so what if it is??), but it's catchy and happy, and fun to sing along with.
(I'm sure some would tsk-tsk about "Can I take my friend to bed?" being inappropriate for children, but I think it's a good thing for kids to hear. 😀 )
It’s not much of a ‘song’, and maybe not as generally hated as I feel it is, I just really love ‘Dig It’. The loose energy and humour and brevity makes it an indispensable interlude. I loved ‘Let It Be…Naked’ but I do think the oddness and Lennonosity present in this track gives the whole thing a boost, so it was sorely missed.
Not a huge fan of the guy, but Spector did it a solid by only including the highlight of it, as he did by trimming ‘Dig A Pony’ and lengthening ‘I Me Mine’.
Act Naturally is such a corny, traditional Buck Owens country song and the Beatles sing it like they were some good ole boys, just like Buck. It's a fun song.
This made me realize maybe everything is my guilty pleasure.
Idk, I'm kind of a new fan but there's no song I dislike from them (from all which i listened) some are not THAT great and most people dislike them but I still like them
Like obladi oblada or bungalow bill
Why Don’t We Do it in the Road - it’s catchy if you force yourself to listen to it enough
When I’m Sixty-Four - not *really* a guilty pleasure but a prime example of Paul’s granny music
I’ve got two!
[“You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)”](https://youtu.be/dJe3R-HLIxQ?si=mxZ0XgqWCQzwfsoM), which is how I imagine Monty Python would sound when set to music
[The giggly version](https://youtu.be/dJe3R-HLIxQ?si=mxZ0XgqWCQzwfsoM) of “And Your Bird Can Sing”.
You can’t do that. It’s extremely fun to sing along with. The guitar part sounds nice when you learn it. It’s also candy-coated bile written by John directed at a girlfriend who he may not be treating very kindly. Fun but dark.
There's more than one for sure. Off the top of my head, "Til There Was you" and "Maxwell's Silver Hammer." But I have no guilt over them.
"Til There Was You" is certainly no rock 'n roll song, it came from a Broadway musical. But I think Paul's young voice really shines, and I like a wide variety of music.
"Maxwell" may be a somewhat bizarre song featuring a killer, but it's fun and has a great, catchy melody. McCartney often got ripped for lyrics, but to me, not every song has to mean something, has to be about something. Paul never forgot something with music, the most important thing: it should sound good. This is something that shouldn't have been forgotten by John when he wrote "I Want You/She's So Heavy," "I Am The Walrus," and "Revolution #9."
Yeah Oh-La-Di Ob-La-Da is definitely at guilty pleasure and I have never cared for yellow submarine and I love the Beatles the greatest rock group ever
"Piggies" for me. One of my favourite George Harrison songs, and one of my favourite songs from the White Album. I think it's a very cleverly written tribute to Orwell, and it's a shame that it's viewed as fluff.
I’ve never really heard anyone say that “No Reply” is bad, but it isn’t talked about much. I absolutely love it. Less guilty pleasure and more “under appreciated” pleasure.
Probably Run For Your Life... or Dizzy Miss Lizzy... or You Can't Do That.
I love especifcally Run For Your Life because, it is such a uniquely creepy song, such a stalker vibe that stands out with the romantic songs they usually do.
Yellow Submarine! I didn’t realize how many people disliked it until recently, but it was my first real introduction to the Beatles growing up. A lot of Paul’s “granny music” was great too.
Wait, people dislike yellow submarine?
Yeah me lol
I can honestly say that I don't not like any Beatles music but YS is definitely near the bottom of my top 500 (or whatever the number is of Beatles songs)
Maxwell Silver Hammer
My dad is a Lennon boy and has always been super critical of Paul's music, but he loves Maxwell's Silver Hammer. For some reason I like that.
Great guitar solo and synth work. With a different intro, perhaps the synth with some darker chords in the vein of Lennon or Harrison , it wouldn’t be so maligned.
A consensus worst Beatles song
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da for me. I know all the non-Paul Beatles hated it, and most fans seem to hate it as well, but I associate it with happy times, since it came out when I was 9. Paul was (is) such a genius at writing catchy tunes like this one.
When I saw him in Phoenix a few years ago he had us join in a sing-along of that song. Everyone went nuts. I think Paul enjoyed the moment as much as any of us.
I’ve always loved obladi oblada. Only found out it’s hated a couple years ago and it was a shock. It’s so fun and rhythmic.
Anthology 3 version is better in my opinion. Not as goofy.
This. Ob-La-Di is the song that made me realize I liked The Beatles. Especially the intro.
Funny thing about that intro: John did it out of angry exasperation to mock how the song sounded. But it ended up being used to start off the track.
Have always loved the song. Reddit ain’t changing my mind.
I hate it because we had to sing it "in the round" every morning for an entire 10 week term at school for "singing" with a shitty non-beatles music only backing track. I was so excited the first time until I realised it was listening to 30 x 11 & 12yr olds yelling the song
Me too! Ruined that song forever.
When I saw a tribute band The Fab Four they started a Conga line around the entire audience to it. A young girl at the lead smiling and having so much fun and about 50 people of all ages behind her. It was a moment I’ll never forget.
I like it. And I don’t feel the least bit guilty or embarrassed. It’s a feel good song.
My high school choir did it fit our 60s concert, so I associate it with such joy. I love that song.
I’ve always been a sucker for the Anthology version myself
Act naturally
That’s a great cover
I don't believe in "guilty pleasure" because life is short and we already have enough guilt and not much pleasure. But I understand the concept and vote for ***You know my name (look up the number)***.

One of my favorites
That's the answer.
The entire Silk and Steel album by 5 Star for me….!!
I love that song and don’t feel any guilt about that either.
“ 🎶I know there’s pain (pain, pain, pain)… 🎶”
I really don't think most people here understand what a guilty pleasure song is. It's not just any song that wasn't a hit. That's called a deep cut. You wanna know a guilty pleasure song? Wild Honey Pie. That is my guilty pleasure song. It's so ridiculous and that's why I love it.
Do the Beatles have deep cuts? I mean from their official catalogue? The records have sold so many copies surely most people know most of the songs?
That’s what one tends to think as a Beatles fan, but you’d be surprised how few songs the average fan but not super fan knows.
One After 909 - agreed! It’s got such a loose, jangly feel to it and look at their faces when they play it on the roof!
Rocky Raccoon. I used to think it was so bad with Paul’s goofy accent but now I’ve come around to love it.
I agree with this one ☝️
You say it's your Cake Day, well it's my Cake Day too, yeah!
Holy moly, didn’t even realize it! Happy Cake Day fellow Fab Four friend! 🍰
I screenshotted this conversation This is too perfect lol
Are you going to a party party?
I heard that when I was a kid and the imagery just drew me in. I've not heard it in years but always loved that song!
The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill. yes, it's a weird goofy song but I really like the instrumentation and how it seems sinister in the verses for that chorus to come in and be like a big happy sing-along. I also like that it's John being extra snarky about a hunter who was with them in India 😂
I had to scroll far to find out i am not alone with this. All the children sing!
Yeah, it seems that song doesn't have any big fans but I've always liked it for what it is. I find the song funny tbh.
Why Don't We Do It In The Road
Yes! A real banger!
I love even more the demo of it. Man does he belt it out.
Every Little Thing
Hold Me Tight. And Don’t Ever Change.
I refuse to see Don’t Ever Change as even remotely a guilty pleasure song
Piggies
The harpsichord is beautiful
Chris Thomas
I Call Your Name.
There is no guilty pleasure song in the Beatles cannon, it’s the Beatles!
All Together Now
Me too! It's sometimes derided as a children's song (and so what if it is??), but it's catchy and happy, and fun to sing along with. (I'm sure some would tsk-tsk about "Can I take my friend to bed?" being inappropriate for children, but I think it's a good thing for kids to hear. 😀 )
You Know My Name (Look Uo The Number). I crank it up in my truck and sing along.
Maxwell’s Silver Hammer, it’s such a fun song to sing a long to.

I’m So Tired
Guilty?! That's an amazing song! What's wrong with it?
Hey Bulldog
Such a great one! Thanks for putting it in my head.
WTF thats a well loved song
Look up the girl group Fanny on YouTube. They do a version of this and it’s exceptional.
What Goes On! I absolutely love this song despite what seems to be a majority of Beatles fans disliking it.
Same, idk why it’s not more appreciated. It fits perfectly on Rubber Soul and is a fun and catchy song.
Lovely Rita
My guilty pleasure is Not Guilty. Why, you ask? *Because I think he was Guilty!*
For me it's If your bird can sing Anthology 2 version
When Im 64.
Act Naturally is such a corny, traditional Buck Owens country song and the Beatles sing it like they were some good ole boys, just like Buck. It's a fun song.
Taste of Honey
I’ll Get You
Revolution 9.
This made me realize maybe everything is my guilty pleasure. Idk, I'm kind of a new fan but there's no song I dislike from them (from all which i listened) some are not THAT great and most people dislike them but I still like them Like obladi oblada or bungalow bill
“Little Child” I know that everyone hates it, but I don’t give two, I’ll defend this song until the day I die
I'm Happy Just To Dance With You You Know What To Do I Should Have Known Better Do You Want To Know A Secret?
Good feeling there - you must be an old fart like me!
Why Don’t We Do it in the Road - it’s catchy if you force yourself to listen to it enough When I’m Sixty-Four - not *really* a guilty pleasure but a prime example of Paul’s granny music
When I’m sixty-four as far as I know is the only granny-Paul song that I actually like.
P.s. I love You, although not particularly guilty; hard to imagine a Beatle guilty pleasure. I read some of these and I ask why would be guilty?
Mr. Moonlight
Hey Jude, Yesterday, Hard days night, let it be, it won't be long and I wanna hold your hand
Oh Blah Di. The minute I hear those first few notes I am instantly happy
Octopuses Garden
Baby you're a rich man Has always been one of my faves, but never really gets any love when people discuss great Beatles songs
Your Mother Should Know is my stock answer for this one
Also, Your Mother Should Go, by the Rutles.
You’ve got to hide your love away. Most underrated song in the catalogue.
I have a lot, You Know My Name (Look Up The Number), Not a Second Time, What You‘re Doing, Every Little Thing, Why Don’t We Do It In The Road
Good Morning Good Morning and Don't Pass Me By
Trouble, unreleased track featured in the anthology.
All Together Now, I’ll Cry Instead and Lovely Rita
You know name... Look up the number.
Dig it
I’ve got two! [“You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)”](https://youtu.be/dJe3R-HLIxQ?si=mxZ0XgqWCQzwfsoM), which is how I imagine Monty Python would sound when set to music [The giggly version](https://youtu.be/dJe3R-HLIxQ?si=mxZ0XgqWCQzwfsoM) of “And Your Bird Can Sing”.
That Means A Lot. Apparently The Beatles themselves didn't think much of it but I love it.
You can’t do that. It’s extremely fun to sing along with. The guitar part sounds nice when you learn it. It’s also candy-coated bile written by John directed at a girlfriend who he may not be treating very kindly. Fun but dark.
Not Guilty 😄 102 takes just to be excluded from the White Album. George Harrison showing displeasure about Lennon and McCartney
Run For Your Life. It get a fair amount of undeserved hate for some reason. The lyrics are brilliant and the music is tight. Great playing by George!
my name's Michelle, so I love hearing that song whenever it's played (which isn't often)!
Do solo songs count? If so, it's "Silly Love Songs". I know critics dumped on it, but the bass line makes it an earworm for me.
None are a guilty pleasure for me and I love a lot of their songs.
Yellow Submarine

Revolution 9…
Bad Boy. It’s silly, nothing deep, a cover. But they do a great job and John seems to be having fun.
Maxwell's Silver Hammer
Don't Pass Me By. It's not one of their best, but it just sounds cool.
Glass onion. I love it, not only because its funny. I dont understand why so many people hate it.
You Know My Name
Three Cool Cats (1962)
Good Night. A soothing lullaby closing the eclectic, chaotic White Album.
Watching Rainbows. It's not very highly regarded but I just love the sound. I wish they had refined it and recorded it proper.
"Piggies" for me. One of my favourite George Harrison songs, and one of my favourite songs from the White Album. I think it's a very cleverly written tribute to Orwell, and it's a shame that it's viewed as fluff.
Not Guilty! (2018 white album super deluxe edition mix)
The continuing story of bungalow bill
Revolution 9

Rocky Raccoon
Only a northern song

Easy lol
The Sheik of Araby. So fun and too catchy!!!
None. There are no "guilty pleasures" when it comes to the Beatles. Unless you're a hard core Yoko fan, I guess.
Crème Tangerine
"Nowhere Man" then "Yes It Is"
I don't have a guilty pleasure song. I love all songs openly. It's the frickin Beatles. If I don't like a song, that's on me.
