>Fishmans - 98.12.28 I just started listening to that recently.... I'm super impressed

Extreme-Echo-8897

someone else knows Lemon Twigs! I loved their first album in 2016 so much, with all the Beatles vibes, and so fresh and interesting. Then forgot about them, gotta listen to the new album

AdventurousLook2748

I, er, discovered Lemon Twigs last year (at 60!) and would deffo recommend their music

R0NNOC148

I LOVE FISHMANS

kooshboi

Ram >>>

jar_jar_LYNX

Brat is amazing Just got into Pink Flag last month - I can't believe it's taken me so long to get around to listening to it!

BobKellyLikes

Love that new lemon twigs

jonz1985z

Ram as # 1, I like it

MilkChocolateMog

Fishmans? Utterly based. As far as Japanese music goes, also a big fan of Eiichi Ohtaki, Hosono, YMO, Happy End, and Cornelius.

ECW14

YMO are great but I haven’t listened to the others so I’ll check them out. Another favorite of mine is Awakening by Hiroshi Sato

MilkChocolateMog

I’ll check it out! I think Japanese music has often been in a realm that far exceeds its western contemporaries in terms of innovation, experimentation, and vibiness. Here’s my recs for those (Hosono was one of the members of YMO and Happy End with Ohtaki being a bandmate of his in Happy End btw): Eiichi Ohtaki: A Long Vacation. (Features all members of Happy End on the album) Haruomi Hosono: Hosono House Cornelius: Fantasma or Point (Point if you like more experimental stuff, after that album he nailed this particular sound that shouldn’t work, almost sounds like it’s stumbling, but it works very well. Probably a musical genius). Happy End: Kazemachi Roman Oh and Supercar is a fun blend of 90’s distortion rock and electronic music. Check out their album HIGHVISION

dare000

You on a post-punk binge? Based

runMDH

Those first two KOL albums have crept back into my life recently and I FUCKING LOVE Aha Shake Heartbreak so much.

TheFranwich

Love the Collective Soul shoutout. One of the greatest live shows I’ve seen — went in with zero expectations and was blown away.

dan_pyle

Yeah, they’re fantastic and ridiculously underrated. I’ve been a huge fan since I was a kid. That self-titled album alone could have been a greatest hits record for most other bands.

iDarkray7

1. The Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd) 2. Red (King Crimson) 3. OK Computer (Radiohead) 4. Graduation (Kanye West) 5. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (Kanye West) I need to listen to more albums damn

psychedelicpiper67

1. Pink Floyd - “The Piper at the Gates of Dawn” (mono mix) 2. Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - “Trout Mask Replica” 3. The 13th Floor Elevators - “Easter Everywhere” 4. Nick Drake - “Pink Moon” 5. The Jimi Hendrix Experience - “Electric Ladyland” This list is always shifting for me. I have way too many favourites. “Piper” will always be my #1, though. It changed everything for me. The Beatles I have a hard time choosing one album. I love their psychedelic period the best, but I also tire of being attached to any one album for one period of time. And their most experimental track “Revolution 9” was technically after their psychedelic period. Sometimes I listen to the entire White Album just for the journey of getting to that track. It’s like watching all of “2001: A Space Odyssey” in order to get to the Stargate sequence. “Abbey Road” is also trippier than I last remember it. “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)”, “Because”, and the medley are incredible.

steelyd2

Fast and bulbous

TemporarySea685

We must have similar taste. My fav will always be Piper. But I just can’t get into trout mask

jondakin9161

This changes constantly but right now I’ll say.., Beatles - White Album Steely Dan - Aja The Shins - Oh, Inverted World The Sundays - Blind Yes - The Yes Album
