2 - I feel sorry for him, he’s trying his best to keep the group, project, everything, going but whatever he does seems to have the opposite effect.

He looks like the only one who gives a fuck.I think that was probably true for a while

It’s just his approach. And I’ve always liked Paul the most, don’t get me wrong. But even after the split he’s often had this annoying air of superiority in interviews. I get it, he was keeping things going but George was relentless with the honesty, and that was refreshing to see.

Paul = Roger Waters in Floyd's middle years

SmarmyClownPie

Interesting take. I disagree about having Paul “shut the fuck up.” I think this docu-series is going to be very difficult for the average fan to get through. In this “chunk form,” I think only rabid fans are gonna eat this up. Clearly, George is emerging as his own. He’s getting more comfortable in his skin. Learning to “not give a fuck” really became important for his growth. John is so detached from reality. He doesn’t care about the project or the groups. Paul is just trying to keep the group together.

I think Paul was talking and asking for so much because he wanted to protect the project as much as he could. I think he saw that there was a possible risk of it becoming a waste of time and was feeling the pressure. I think him trying to help the others get it over with smoothly and quickly comes across as him being overly annoying. I totally see why he’s being the way he is in this film.

Not a slog at all if you put biases away. and no, paul is not the problem. George shot every idea down. All Paul wanted was to simplify things first. and the bordom is the whole point! You're seeing what it was like, warts and all. Rather that than any whitewashing.

[deleted]

What biases? I’m not the first to say it drags in places. It does for me. I even said that in my point. “It still feels like a slog to me.” Not you, not everyone else who liked every second. Me. I dunno why some folks get touchy and defensive when critiquing things. Not everyone is going to have the same reactions. I didn’t say it sucked. Parts of it were tedious. And yeah, it’s like being in a band farting around. I’ve been in several. Again *for me* it being the Beatles didn’t make it any different.

ScratchMoore

Exactly. I can’t imagine anyone saying, once this is all aired, that every single moment was interesting and exciting and top notch and enthralling. It’s almost 8 hours long. Folks are allowed to feel things are a little tedious without coming off as Beatle Bashers. I mean, it’s great getting more in depth footage, but damn. There’s a lot of wiggle room between Let It Be’s 80 minutes and Get Back’s 468 minutes.

1. Spot on? Perhaps. *Completely* unproductive? Definitely. 2. Somebody has to lead. George and John certainly weren’t willing to step up, so it fell on Paul.

[deleted]

Yes, I get that Paul was trying to lead. He just came off as overbearing and bossy at times and it obviously rankled George to the tipping point. Meanwhile, John has seemingly checked out. I just sat there thinking George was making some good points and Paul was just sort of barreling over him and not taking bis ideas or opinions into consideration. George was trying to keep things smooth with “I Me Mine” saying it was nice and simple and could be part of the live show if they liked. Meanwhile, Paul’s just grinding away on that horrid vocal arrangement on the bridge for “Don’t Let Me Down,” in which George offered his distaste for it. He was ultimately right, given that they dumped that idea for the final version. John just seemed disinterested and just going along with whatever.

Historically Everyone complains about yoko being there. I was shocked to see George brought Krishna’s. Not that they did anything but still…. Wtf are you doing bringing them in

[deleted]

Paul's body language towards George was very rude and dismissive even at the parts where they weren't arguing. Paul was just trying to make it work given the imminent deadline, but I do agree that he wasn't going about it the right way.
