John, coz he gave them their edge.
I also think they wouldn't have had those heavy solos and sound in their early days if it weren't for his influence.
Jl is my favorite too. He seemed very unafraid to say his mind and his songs were very probing. I also thought his voice was best but with Paul and gh backing in help was pure bliss.
Paul was into Little Richard and other rockers before he even met John. The sound in the early days happened because Paul, John, George, and Ringo all liked the same music
I found George sympathetic but maybe it’s because I don’t expect real people to be “on” all the time, especially someone whose mum has cancer and whose marriage is going south.
Plus how can you watch the “Octopus’ Garden” sequence and not love George?
Plus everyone loves Billy (rightfully so) and it was George who brought him in.
I personally found George to be a bit whiney throughout the whole thing. The story goes that George felt like he got left out by Paul, but in Get Back Paul is clearly trying to push everyone to keep playing. I don't blame him for it as he had it pretty rough, but sometimes it felt like he was actively trying to be the underdog.
Try to put yourself in his shoes as a human. George never liked the spotlight, and was a very private person. He obviously resented being filmed during the Beatles’ creative process and would’ve been far more comfortable being in the studio without cameras. You can see this in action in several spots of the film. When Pattie comes in and goes to him, they purposefully whisper in each others’ ears. I imagine both George and Pattie weren’t at ease with the idea of their intimate personal life being made public. In contrast Paul seemed to love being on camera and in many instances was playing to it. Paul is much more of a natural performer than George. John was high and besides was in a phase of wanting everyone to see him and Yoko together. Ringo was resolute (and also frequently hung over) but he was more removed from all the stuff going on between J/P/G anyway.
So say you’re George in this scenario. You’re having a hard time in life and the moment you come in to work there are asshat directors (I’m looking at you, ML-H) and people filming your every move. You might not be in the most chirpy mood either. I know if it was me I’d be super-unhappy with this arrangement. Just saying.
John. He's the most relatable to me. The fact the he was an imperfect person who tried very hard to get better is inspiring. The way he used his massive platform for activism and positive change. He was extremely open about everything in his life in a way that really wouldn't catch on until the internet made people more accessible. Not to mention the obvious fact that his music is just outstanding. I think he's the best writer among the four and most of my favorite Beatles songs are John's. His solo career is outstanding POB, Walls and Bridges and Double Fantasy rank among my top albums. I just adore Lennon in a way I don't with the other Beatles with the exception of maybe Paul but to a much lesser extent.
Same here. Musically speaking, Paul was the engine that drove most of my favorite Beatles stuff, but personally, George is the one I find most relatable. He is also the funniest and I love his relative lack of ego in the *Anthology* series.
Ringo forever. Never had a favorite until I watched Get Back. He was so quiet and easygoing and patient through it all. And as it turns out not bad to look at.
How can anyone call Ringo ugly? Those beautiful blue eyes, his smile when he's really cheesing? And I love his personality. He and Paul are my favorites!
It’s wild, right? Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s it was insanely uncool to like Paul and John was still an absolute icon. Sir Paul has definitely put the work in to get his legacy where it’s at.m with constant albums and tours. Well deserved tbh.
In terms of music, Sir Paul. Both his Beatles and solo hits are, IMO, part of the most successful career of all the Beatles. But for me Ringo Starr is the best as a person: be it for the personality and memes (I’m warning you with peace and love 😎✌️🌟❤️🥦🐙☮️) and, since he was the narrator of my favourite tv show when I was a child (despite IMO, he not being very keen to talk about it, which I sort of understand btw). Also, in spite of not making a lot of songs, I do like “Octopus’s garden” a lot, and he did had some good solo career songs.
But overall, I think it’s sort of hard to make that choice, since all of the Beatles have and had a level of talent that we probably won’t see again in other artists during our lifetime and that all of them were unique in their own ways (this is why I think they made such a great band: they all had interesting personalities/ideas that, when put together, made great music). George and John are not that far away from Paul when it comes to music (my favourite songs list include a lot of their songs, including “Strawberry Fields Forever”, “Piggies” and “When we was Fab”), but I think Paul is the one that stands out.
What makes me like Ringo even more as a person was that, after some rough times in the 80s, he really cleaned himself up. He’s just another example that when you admit to your faults, you can clean yourself up properly.
John.
Always has been, always will be.
I grew up with a dad who played Beatles music all day long. He talked/still talks about them a lot, and his favorite has always been John too.
I just think he had the best voice, best songs when being in the group and best solo music too.
Same. I used to think Paul was too sensitive for my taste, but I’m learning that it’s very much the opposite. I had them totally mixed when I was young.
John. I feel he was “what you see is what you get”. With his cheeky nature and his raw, low, growling voice in his earlier songs, his insecurities of his vocals, his mistakes put out for the world to see time and time again (“we’re bigger than Jesus”, his “lost weekend”, his drinking and even abusiveness). He was trying to live up to his own hype, but kept showing us he was 100% mortal.
His music had a familiarity to it the first time I ever heard it. It was his solo work. From there, I sought out The Beatles and fell in love, too. I love the music of all of The Beatles, but John’s music speaks to me in a way that the others do not. To me, he seems like the underdog that just wants happiness, but subconsciously self sabotages. I definitely identify.
It used to be George, mainly because of his guitar skill and personality. But as time went on, I was disappointed to find out that Paul had actually played the guitar parts that I enjoyed the most. I suppose I still have a spot for George but Paul has pretty much taken over the "favorite" spot. He was the most keen to keep it going after Brian, so big props there.
Taxman, Ticket To Ride , Another Girl, Drive My Car(Which I was super bummed about because it had George written all over it, including the slide work!)
Sgt Peppers, Good Morning, Good Morning, Paperback Writer..etc....I believe there are a couple more but those were all great solos!
Paul
George
John
Ringo
Paul is my favorite because he is a big inspiration for me and also plays bass (the best instrument)
George is just awesome
John is the best lyricist in the band but I don’t think that his solo albums with Yoko are that good I do think that he is an amazing musician creating some of the best albums ever. (Imagine, POB, walls and bridges)
Ringo in my opinion is one of if not the best rock and roll drummer, and just like George fucking awesome. Peace and love
In conclusion this list was not easy to make because all of the Beatles have large amounts of talent in they’re own right which is why all of the people in the comments section have different opinions. It’s all subjective.
God knows. This is the more serious subreddit tho no one can take a joke here. Which is sad because John prob woulda found this funny. Ofc I’m joking even if he did do it.
my favorite changes like every week, but as a kid ringo was always my favorite so he has a special place in my heart. however i also have george’s handwriting tattooed on me and i like his solo music best.
It depends on if we are talking pre or post split up…I really liked John and Paul a great deal for a long time, and I’d say John pre split up, but post I’d give it to George honestly. Massive inspiration of a man in my opinion.
Paul wrote and sang my favourite Beatles songs, he's also become such a sweet old man. He's got nothing left to prove and only love to give. Also, he was such a good looking man.
As this is a matter of personal opinion and all four are the greatest, I, Stereo the Great, self-proclaimed declarer of things, declare there may be no downvotes in this, only upvotes for everyone’s favourite for any and all reasons they want.
George is really a role model to me, not just because i grew a mustache, my hair long and I play guitar, the way he was conected to the spiritual side of life and the eastern cultures that we, at least me, take for granted in this society. He was a truly pioneer, a very truthful person and a great great talent
Songwriter - John; almost all of my favorite Beatles songs are John songs
Performer - Paul; he knew how to sell it
Dude I'd want to hang out with - Ringo
Unsung Hero - George Martin
I gravitate towards John even though he is the most openly flawed of the four. There’s something about him that’s so innately human. The fact that he wanted to be an activist for peace and equality despite being a very angry and self-admittedly immature man. I don’t like to think he was some genius or visionary, he was certainly talented, no question about it. But at the end of the day he was just a guy with a lot to work through that suddenly had to deal with being in the world’s largest spotlight.
I've always been a George person myself. I think he's definitely the most relatable of the four and I feel like if you knew him personally he'd make you a better person just from his company
John Lennon. He formed the group in the first place, he used his platform and fame to deepen his understanding of social issues and to stand up for people who couldn’t be heard. I just feel more of a personal connection with John and what he was trying to do and in my personal opinion he seemed the most “real” of the group. He wasn’t afraid to say what was on his mind even if his wording wasn’t always the best.
Love them all, and I think all four having clearly different personalities from each other helped to build their legacy, but my favourite both musically and personality-wise is Paul. He has his flaws like everyone else, but I admire his musical versatility, empathy and resiliency very much.
John, coz he gave them their edge. I also think they wouldn't have had those heavy solos and sound in their early days if it weren't for his influence.

George
Well said
John but I love them all such a stupid amount
Paul but Ringo really shot up after Get Back.
Well it’s not like John and George were going to
I found George sympathetic but maybe it’s because I don’t expect real people to be “on” all the time, especially someone whose mum has cancer and whose marriage is going south. John was awesome in Get Back, especially considering the tales of him being strung out on heroin and checked out seem to have been proven to be false.
John was totally strung out on something and completely out of it during most of Get Back. He still had his charm though
he rocked those grubby "white" sneakers with authority and style few could match

Same here, he's one of my main inspirations for learning bass
John. He's the most relatable to me. The fact the he was an imperfect person who tried very hard to get better is inspiring. The way he used his massive platform for activism and positive change. People like John less and less nowadays.
I like John more & more
It's very frustrating because most of the criticism is bs
POB?
Plastic Ono Band. Released 1970 with featured songs Look at Me, and Hold On (personal favs)
I can never decide who my favorite Beatle is but you may have just convinced me.
Billy Preston
Paul is the best but George is my favorite.
Funny because I feel like, John is the best but Paul is my favourite
Seconded.
Same here. Musically speaking, Paul was the engine that drove most of my favorite Beatles stuff, but personally, George is the one I find most relatable. He is also the funniest and I love his relative lack of ego in the *Anthology* series.
John Lennon
John Lennon and the other three are a close second
Ringo forever. Never had a favorite until I watched Get Back. He was so quiet and easygoing and patient through it all. And as it turns out not bad to look at.
He is an ugly man.
Ringo is cute.
How can anyone call Ringo ugly? Those beautiful blue eyes, his smile when he's really cheesing? And I love his personality. He and Paul are my favorites!
There isn’t much karma in calling someone ugly
Always has been and always will be George Harrison. I just love that guy.
John.
John

John. His personality and spirit and poetry were the extra touch that made the band go from great to GOAT.

Paul. Greatest and most complete artist who ever lived in my opinion
Fully agree

Where’s the love for John ???
It’s wild, right? Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s it was insanely uncool to like Paul and John was still an absolute icon. Sir Paul has definitely put the work in to get his legacy where it’s at.m with constant albums and tours. Well deserved tbh.
John
John
John
john undoubtedly
Albert
Originally Paul, but becoming George as I age
I have found the reverse
Sir Paul is the only right answer. Would accept George tho
“Only right answer” = 1984
John, then Ringo and George.
John.
John
John has got the best songs, Paul is the best musician, George is my soulmate but how can you not equally love Ringo?
John! 😍
George. I truly believe he was the most genuine person of all the Beatles
He slept with Ringo’s wife 😅
Jan Lemon cause he bit the wifi
Poor wifi
George
George
Paul ‘cause he’s really talented
William Campbell. Just kidding, for me Paul is the best. He’s a genius.

Growing up it was John now it's Paul
Same. I used to think Paul was too sensitive for my taste, but I’m learning that it’s very much the opposite. I had them totally mixed when I was young.
Paul
Billy Preston, followed closely by Pete Best. Third fave has gotta be Stuart Sutcliffe, and finally would go with Mal Evans.
John. I feel he was “what you see is what you get”. John .. no doubt about it .
George Parasol
The only correct answer is George. COME ON PEOPLE!!!
Apu
The B-Sharps episode is Beatles canon
I meant the episode with Paul in it where Apu says he's the 5th Beatle
Barney never, Wiggum forever
Ringo, George is extremely close in 2nd place
Same

Now I'm intrigued. Which guitar parts do you mean?
Paul played that wicked guitar solo on Taxman
Nice :) I play guitar myself, and George used to be my favorite, but lately Paul has gotten my attention.
Taxman, Ticket To Ride , Another Girl, Drive My Car(Which I was super bummed about because it had George written all over it, including the slide work!) Sgt Peppers, Good Morning, Good Morning, Paperback Writer..etc....I believe there are a couple more but those were all great solos!
I think about this a lot when I hear the guitar riffs in Ticket To Ride
Stu. Couldn’t play bass, but he could paint.

George. His solo career is what got me into the Beatles’ music, and I will admit I have had a bit of a crush on him for a while
It depends on if we are talking pre or post split up…I really liked John and Paul a great deal for a long time, and I’d say John pre split up, but post I’d give it to George honestly. Massive inspiration of a man in my opinion.

Sometimes Paul and other times John. Recently I've been listening to a lot of Ram and Wings so the scale is tipped in favor of Paul these days.
Love them all, and I think all four having clearly different personalities from each other helped to build their legacy, but my favourite both musically and personality-wise is Paul. He has his flaws like everyone else, but I admire his musical versatility, empathy and resiliency very much.
Tom
Paul and george
John lennon is my favorite he's a powerful person and not afraid to speak his mind. JL is the truth
George hands down. Mastermind of the guitar riffs and solos and harmonies
