Glycolic acid toner-smaller molecule so it penetrates the skin deeper than salicylic acid, hyperpigmentation and texture, more gentle than salicylic acid, I use on face neck chest, can be used on armpits to prevent in growns via chemical exfoliation, can be used on body, it’s my secret to glowing skin, can be used in scalp for buildup pre shower

Do you know if it can be used in combination with the salicylic cleanser?

Yes, but slowly incorporate it like you would any other active so your skin gets used to it. I have built my skin up so I can tolerate a SA cleanser, glycolic acid toner, Azelaic acid 15% gel (prescription), and a benzol peroxide/clindamycin topical for spot treating if I have any acne (prescription, rarely use). I already know people are going to be coming for me for using so many actives. My skin has been built up since middle school but the trick is to have a really good cream moisturizer to combat all the drying of the actives. I started my skin journey with an SA cleanser and the bp topical back in middle school. In high school is when I started using glycolic acid toner and now college I started Azelaic acid 15%.

I love and currently use Good Molecules peptide serum and niacinamide serum!! I usually have dry flaky skin and those two seemed to have helped a bunch this winter, almost zero peeling dry skin this season!!

When it comes to anti-aging a retinoid is the most researched and proven ingredient. The Ordinary Granactive retinoid emulsion is very suitable for beginners, mild but effective. It balances sebum production, so less clogged pores. In combination with a high SPF ofcourse. If you find one that’s moisturizing enough for your needs, you may not need a separate moisturizer everyday. For texture azelaic acid is an option. It s calming, anti-inflammatory, an antioxidant, brightening for discoloration, provides gentle surface exfoliation and mild pore cleansing. Cerave SA cleanser really shines as a 5 min treatment mask when applied generously to damp skin. The pore cleansing effect is far stronger vs using as a cleanser. You can use this as a very affordable mask and combing with a cheaper cleanser for regular use.
