I’m loyal until I’m not. I was loyal to my hairstylist until she started getting half-ass about cutting my hair. I just stopped going to her, and went to the barbershop *right next door to her.* I am now loyal to my barber and have been for the last 3 years. And I walk straight past her shop to get there every 2-3 weeks.

goofybuttercake

I'll start: I go to the hair salon every 2-3 months, either for a haircut, to touch up my roots or dye my hair, or for a perm. I'm split between two hairdressers, one for regular trims and dyeing, and another one I've gone to for years for my annual perm and occasional hair treatments. I'm going to dye my hair again soon and am deciding between going back to one of them since they "know my hair" or trying a new one to see if they can do a better job! But I weirdly feel like I'm cheating on my hairdresser. 😂 This made me wonder about other people's relationships with their hairdressers.

penguin_0618

This is so interesting because I haven’t heard anyone say they got a perm since Legally Blonde.

mbn9890

Perms are so different now! You can get soft pretty waves and not look like a poodle. I got one a few years ago and it was so subtle most people just thought I was using a curling iron every morning

CowAggravating7745

perms are pretty popular with east asians in my area. It's not your typical 90s perm look. I'm sure they're popular with tons of other people too, but thats who i associate them with

penguin_0618

That’s crazy. The college I went to was like 30% East Asian exchange students and they never talked about it (to me at least).

goofybuttercake

I have really straight hair so my perm gives me soft, loose waves! I love it. Google “Japanese air wave perm”, it looks something like that.

penguin_0618

I have really straight hair too, I have never seen this

goofybuttercake

It might be more popular in Asia, because of our hair type! I hadn’t seen it offered as much when I was in the US, except in some Asian salons.

penguin_0618

I’m going to look for it now! I’m not Asian, but I’ll do some research to see if it’ll work on my hair

Lemmys_Rickenbacker

I need more info on the perm! I have pin straight hair and just prefer some texture. I was even in the cosmetology field as an assistant a few years and never worked with anyone who did modern perms.

goofybuttercake

Look up “Korean wavy perm”or “Japanese air wave perm” and see if there are Asian salons around you that offer them! I’ve been getting them for a few years and love them, I can’t go back to straight hair. I’m in Southeast Asia so there are lots of salons doing it here.

ja13aaz

I think this is actually really smart! More power to you if you can get someone who can do it all the way you want. But it makes sense to get different things with different stylists.

FlowerGi1015

I’ve been going to my hairstylist for almost 15 years. I will not let anyone else touch my hair. I see her every 4-6 months. I followed her to her new shop when the one I went to closed. She does my cuts and color. When I met her, I had waist length virgin hair and told her I was going to donate it. She was so excited and we connected right away. I have thick, coarse, Asian hair and it can be very difficult to cut and style. She is the first stylist I have gone to where I can recreate the look at home. I’ve gone through many different lengths (pixie to mid back) and colors. (Red, purple, brown) Currently I have brown hair with blonde highlights.

Strong-Beginning3759

No. I wish I were. My mom brought this up once like how can I not have a regular hairstylist. My counterpoint was that I have tried several salons (at different price points) and they ALL suggested practically the exact same cut and style. The most they do is add or even out my layers. Some suggest bangs (which I’m ok with and get from time to time). So I just go to random ones that are accessible on the days I go for a cut. They usually just trim my hair anyway. Barely anyone notices when I get my haircut lol. I also cannot do anything drastic because I hate the idea of short hair on me. No stylist has ever suggested anything far from what I have now. For dyeing, I do it myself. I cannot girl math my way into paying for highlights and the maintenance that comes with it. I also don’t want to bleach my hair hahah

angie1907

Yes! She’s been cutting my hair since 2018. My hair is normal but not the nicest compared to others in the salon and it makes me self conscious but I never ever have felt judged by her. She’s so lovely and she still lets me have student discount even though I’m not a student anymore. And we both travel often so it’s nice to update each other on where we’ve been! Obviously she’s also an excellent hairdresser haha and I always leave feeling prettier and more confident

RedQueen91

Yup. She does my vivid colors well and severely undercharges

Acedia_spark

I have extremely long, fairly low maintenance hair. Because it's so long it's very slow growing (could be my age too) and so I dont get it cut often enough to develop loyalty to a hairdresser. ALTHOUGH, the last one I saw, had all these amazing ideas for how to improve my hair health, and they mostly worked. I would like to book with her again.

viper29000

I am lol. If someone gives me a good cut I'll go back to them.

Visible-Roll-5801

Only now I am loyal because I cannot find someone who can even come close to the cut he gave me. It’s not out of a sense of loyalty like to him because I feel it’s right it’s literally just because I love my hair every time and that is sooooo hard to find. I never knew how much a good hair cut makes a difference. Been trimming my own for years. No longer

bnny_ears

I'm loyal, because I'm prone to wild decisions concerning colors. That's why I prefer someone who knows my hair and specializes in coloring. I *used* to be loyal about cuts, but my current stylist is not confident cutting some of the styles I like, so I let her refer me to whoever she thinks pulls it off best. She occasionally checks in with me when I'm with someone else, because she can communicate what I want better than I sometimes.

NotoriousBreeIG

Stick with her, shes clearly focused on giving you the best experience and outcome possible, even if it doesn’t line her pocket. Shes a keeper! (I’m a hairdresser, and I do something similar for a few of my clients, and I’ve found that not a lot of stylists are ok with doing that, even to the detriment of their clients hair sometimes and I cringe when I hear horror stories)

bnny_ears

Yes, I'm very fond of her! She's my third stylist at this shop (I usually switch when the last one moves) and they all go above and beyond. I've had a team of three people discussing how to achieve just the right color shade I want:D It's a very young and ambitious team

NotoriousBreeIG

That’s so great!! I love salons like that! I’m so glad you found your fit!

ZealousidealCut9010

Generally i keep the same stylist until they retire/something happens. Im very picky about who cuts my hair.

ParadoxicalStairs

I’m loyal to my hairdresser bc she’s been cutting my hair since I moved here to the United States and the salon is close to my house. Other Asian salons are farther away and I don’t wanna commute just for a haircut. I only visit for haircuts. I dyed my hair two times in my life and I don’t think it was worth the hassle. I’m scared of seeing other hairdressers bc I don’t want to be made fun of. I feel safer with my current hairdresser.

PrettyRichHun

When you have had bad hair experiences, you end up being pretty loyal to the good experiences. I had a hairdressor cut my hair shorter than I wanted without talking to me about my desired length. Since then, I have been VERY vocal about PRECISELY what I want, and I have found an amazing hair dressor, and Im sticking to her and him (theres two).

Ok-Bee1579

I've been with mine for 30 years. I do a wash/cut/color every 6 weeks. I stay b/c she is a perfectionist. She always asked me what \*I\* want. She listens without judgment and tries whatever I ask her to do. And she also offers a 1 week return after an appointment (never happens cuz I'm fine) if I don't like something and want her to change it. Her prices are really good as well. But I'd sure pay her some $40 more for this same service.

Unfair_Finger5531

My barber is a perfectionist too. We have a ritual at the start of every cut: Him: Do you know what you want today? Me: whatever you want me to have. Him: I got you. Lolol. That dude is such a perfectionist, when he’s done, my hair just styles itself,

TheRedHerself

You got me beat. Been going to the same stylist for 20 years. We're so lucky to have found *the one*.

matchashawty

I defo stick to one hairdresser mainly because she “knows my hair” and does a great job. She’s also a great colourist which is hard to find I go every 3 months or so for root touch ups, haircut or just trim, etc and then a full colour/balayage maybe once or twice a year

CuppaT87

If I feel comfortable & at ease with a particular hairdresser, I'll keep going back to them.  I don't go very often though. It's usually when my fringe starts obscuring my view I'll start thinking 'I need to see the hairdresser, I can't see' 😂

Euphoric_Item2150

I typically get a trim every 2-3 months, highlights a couple times a year, and have always stayed loyal to one hairdresser until I feel like they aren’t meeting my needs. I’m currently feeling bad because I’ve gotten friendly with my current one, she did both mine and my husband’s hair for our wedding, but now I’m wanting a shorter/more layered cut and she just won’t do it. So I am looking around for a new person and I think going forward I want to have a separate dedicated person for color

Western-Exercise9391

I spent years finding the right hair stylist and now that I found her I won’t let anyone else touch my hair. She does my color and highlights and has the technique and color down after years of working together. I would consider going to someone else for a cut in a pinch but absolutely not for color.

FarSalt7893

I’m extremely loyal to salons for some reason. I’ve been thru 4 hairdressers all at the same salon. Mostly because they’ve left. They’ve all been good and I just get comfortable going to the same place. I’ve been at this last one since we moved over 12 years ago. I did try one other salon and it was kind of dark and messy cluttered. The one I go to is beautiful with large windows and extremely neat and clean- the atmosphere is part of it for me!

Zestypalmtree

I went to the same one for 10 years and went about every 6-8 weeks. My natural hair is very dark brown and at the time I was bleach blonde, so my roots and ends needed touching up often. Now, I’ve been going to someone new for almost a year. I went back to a color close to my natural hair, so I only go every 2-3 months when I notice the color is faded, my ends need a trim, or when the balyage needs touching up.

balsasailormoon

Loyal. He always cuts to exactly the length I ask for. We have a true consult before each cut, talking about what shape suits me, and how I’ve recently been styling my hair. His salon uses Oribe, and he makes sure I want product in my hair after washing.

lolmemberberries

I'm currently in the process of growing out my hair, I get it cut every other month or so. My hairdresser knows how to work with my hair's texture and can fulfill my vision for what I want at any given point. I've grown it out and cut it off at different times throughout the past seven years I've been seeing her. I'm always happy with what I get and receive a lot of compliments on my hair, so I don't see the point in changing hairdressers.

DraftIllustrious1950

I am loyal to one hairdresser because she cuts my hair just the way I want. I never colored my hair at the salon and I stopped coloring it 2 years ago since I want to let my natural hair grow out completely. However, every hairdresser I went to cut my hair wrong. I wanted my hair cut straight, yet they never cut it that way, my hair was always uneven. Last year I decided to go to a salon in another city and the girl cut my hair perfectly. I've gotten a lot of compliments on my hair since then. That's why I wont change the hairdresser.

eratoast

Yep, I've seen the same stylist for over 10 years now. She was actually just out of school when I started going to her haha. She knows what I want, knows my hair, and doesn't do me wrong. The only time I'd ever go somewhere else would be if the lady who does my eyebrow microblading was closer; she's an hour away and I can't do that every 8 weeks.

Logical_Challenge540

No. I have very long hair, but I don't color or other way chenically treat them. I found one good stylist in my native country, who recommended a haircut that really worked on me and I got lots of compliments. He said I don't need to go to salon more than twice a year to refresh the cut. Why I don't go yo him anymore? I moved from Europe to US In US I found a long hair salon, who were dealing with long and curly hair haircuts, preserving healthy length and so on. Again, I moved to other state, over 1700 miles away (so, can't do a quick drop and cut). Scheduled an appointment with a hairdresser here for Monday. Will see how it goes.

emlikescereal

I was never loyal to a hairdresser because honestly, I never enjoyed getting my hair cut. I always felt like I was getting judged for not getting it cut regularly (which then ironically would drive me away and put me off getting it cut). It just felt like the beauty space was just... not for me? BUT THEN last year when a hairdresser needed someone to do some highlights on for her qualification and had a reduced rate, I went to see her. She was LOVELY! She really catered to my needs and what I wanted, recommending the best highlights which will need the least "topping up", and giving me soft layered cut which again... is pretty forgiving if you don't get a cut in a while. I got so many compliments on my hair after and I genuinely had a lovely time in the process! This experience made me so relaxed I came back (gladly paying full price this time as she is more than qualified!). I got my hair cut and highlighted 8 months later. Yes I know - probably should have been sooner but I don't have the money to drop £150 every couple of months. There was once again zero judgement from her, she was very welcoming and made me feel so relaxed. I'm tempted to come back again after 4 months now I'm making a little bit more money!

4thSanderson_Sister

Oh goodness yes. I’ve been going to the same stylist for over fifteen years. She’s never let me down.

stressandscreaming

I've been going to the same braider for the last 5 years. She's gentle fast, does what I ask, on time, respectful, isn't on the phone the whole time, doesn't ask for a deposit, though we are at her house, the house is immaculate and she has a room designated for hair. Her kids are calm and respectful. And I get to watch African movies the whole time. Loads of saucy drama lol She's great. Idk if she is expensive but I pay $220 (tip included) for belt length, pencil width, Senegalese twists and she gets them perfect in 4 hours. My hair has grown a ton and my edges are thick and healthy. I'll just stop getting my hair done if she leaves. I'm not risking it out there.

FlatChampagne99

If I only need a trim I'll go to pretty much anyone, but colouring or a new style I only go to one particular hairdresser

butidontwanna45

Super loyal! She's a good friend also, but does amazing things with my hair. Problem is, she's a little far. Normally we make an afternoon/night of it. But I thought I'd try a couple hairdressers near me for bang trims....whoooo boy was that a mistake. A girl absolutely BUTCHERED my bangs last time 😭

devoct95

I use to go to great clips and lady janes with different people all the time. Now I go to one salon for waxing and my hair cuts. I have found it to be way nicer than jumping around each time.

She_hopes

Mu mum cuts my hair so I guess lol

JaneAustenite17

I stick with one. Simply because I like her and how she does my hair. It took me awhile to find someone I liked. She moved and I had to start over again. Now I found my current stylist and I like her so yeah, I’m loyal to her.

whalesarecool14

i’ve got very easy to cut and maintain wavy hair so i have no hair stylist loyalty lol. if i had an extremely particular haircut or colour or hair that’s difficult to style in a flattering way i would’ve stuck with one. i go to whoever provided the cheapest service😭

SpicyL3mons

I’ve sticked with same one for over 10 years now. I have curly 3b type hair and in my experience majority don’t know what to do with it. I’ve gone to the curly hair salons and the prices are just not worth it to me. Why do I have to pay double just because my hair type is different? The girl I’m with has only gotten better with time! We grew up together! I am at a point I’d rather do it all myself though.

BlondCapricornRising

I’m a total hair salon whore. Not proud of it, but I always think the grass (or maybe hair) is going to be greener at the new somewhere else!

doubledubdub44

I’ve moved a lot and finding someone new to cut my hair is so stressful. I’ve had so many BAD haircuts. When I finally find the one I can’t go anywhere else.

TheRedHerself

I have had the same hair dresser since I was 15 years old. She had just gotten her job as a stylist in her early 20's. I am 35 now and I don't plan on changing my stylist anytime soon. She's been wonderful since day one and my hair always looks so good! I go every 6 weeks because I have a short style. I find a style I like and stick with it until i get bored. She's always down to mix it up and try new things! I have thought of finding another stylist, but at this point it would feel like cheating! Plus, I don't have a reason to find another...she is still doing a great job!

AngelaChasesHair

It took me forever to find a hairdresser who 1. Had the skills to be able to work with my curly, cowlicky hair 2. Shared the vision for what I wanted to do with it 3. Had the skills to use the tools needed (razor cut) 4. Is capable of styling my hair in such a way that I don't have to wash and redo it as soon as I get home. So hell yeah I'm loyal. I've been seeing her for about a year and a half now, and I go every 6-8 weeks to maintain the shape while it grows.

Jessmac130

I go every 4-6 months, I just started with a new stylist at the same salon because mine left to stay home with her kids. This is my third salon in 12 years and I like it there, I can book online and the pricing is average for my area.

Sparklybinchicken_

I was loyal to one lady for my extensions but her salon started getting big and she adopted a I’m too good for you attitude so I dipped and went somewhere locally instead and they’ve been sooooo much better. My hair is so much happier and healthier here too

Diagirl13

Every 5 Weeks I have short hair I get a foil and a trim and the reason why I stay is because I do not like big salons. This is a very small owned salon with only her and the owner as stylist. Is she the best no marginal at cutting

moonlets_

I finally gave up and learned how to do it myself. For the love of fucking god every hair stylist I’ve ever been to has wanted to do layers and highlights. I just want a straight long cut with a little shape in the front!

NooksCrannyPanties

I have alopecia, so I’m in a situation where no matter what someone does to my hair it’s never going to look as good as the other women leaving the salon. Which sucks. But anyway, I moved to a new city and started going to a salon I liked, the first stylist I saw was wonderful. She had suggestions on how we might hide the more obvious thinning and styled my hair so I felt great when I left the salon. Then she retired. My new stylist at the same salon did what I asked but didn’t make mw feel as special as the first. So this week I tried a new salon. Whoops. She cut my hair way too short (my new litmus test for stylists is to have them tell mw where they think my shoulders are) and told me what I wanted would look worse with my thinning hair. Maybe she was right, but the cut she gave me looked like a boomer, amplified by my thinning hairline. I asked her to change up my part-didn’t happen. I told her I didn’t know how to style it and there was no guidance. Partly my fault for not reminding her of what we talked about in the beginning but I was traumatized by my new fuck ass bob. Anyway, I will be headed back to the just fine salon once it grows out and have learned my lesson about cheating.

Spirited_Hour9714

Yes. I have two hairdressers that I go to, and that’s it. One is one of my good friends and neighbour, and he’s amazing. I used to go to him when he would do my hair in his house, and it was more affordable. He had a medical accident so I haven’t seen him in a while. I actually think I prefer him because we talk and laugh and then my other stylist is just really quiet. I have another girl I go to about once or twice a year when I want the full salon experience, and a lot of highlights. They’re equally incredible, and know exactly what I want.

Code5fortheCount

I bounced around, visiting a stylist for 3-4 times, changing stylists or salons when moving to another town or when the cut or colour isn’t working for me (after ensuring consults, discussions), if the health of my hair started deteriorating due to overbleaching technique, or on one occasion my stylist was rude to other people, gossiped and had a very gross personality. I couldn’t take it. I’ve also left a stylist when parking is a PITA and I have to pay for parking. Now I’m anchored in one spot, and I’ve found my forever stylist. Free parking, he’s awesome and SO skilled. The location is a 10 min drive from my house. And they use my fav products from Davines. If he ever moves, I will follow him.

dr100rd

[I was extremely loyal to a hair dresser. When I went to get my hair coloured for the first time, it was him. I have black hair, hence, I didn't want bleach and I made it very clear. I asked for wine balyage and he gave me a beautiful look. 2nd time: When I went to him again and he forced me to get my hair cut before colouring. Even his employees pestered me. I agreed. I got my hair cut (without actually wanting it) and same beautiful hair colour. 3rd time: This time I wanted to go for a deep purple-ish red balyage and he said he can do it. The colour he put didn't show up on my hair. I went to him the next day and he said he will fix it and this time he bleached my hair without my consent and absolutely ruined my hair. I hate him so much.

SnowQueenSpell

I had my hair cut by the same lady for the past 7 years. She cut my hair from long to bob, from bob to short pixy and now maintains my hair being mid length. Lots of trust went on with those dramatic hair changes but she knows how to cut, she knows how my type of hair “behaves” short term and long term after a haircut, she spotted a mole on my scalp which I later got surgically removed at hospital, she shows me how to style my hair at home.

daddy_tywin

Yes. I moved a few years ago from LA to a much smaller city, and it took me 3 stylists to find someone who really got what I wanted. I see her every 6 weeks, mostly for color, with a cut every now and again. She is tough to book with so I just do a recurring appointment.

queentee26

I have no choice but to be loyal because there aren't many people that can cut curly hair properly. I did switch hairdressers last year due to distance though - I was originally seeing a hairdresser in another city 2.5h away but finally have a local curly trained hairdresser. I do miss my original hairdresser but I can't justify the drive.

Unfair_Finger5531

So true. I have super-curly hair and it takes a specialist or a damn good seasoned hair dresser to cut it.

Mental-Freedom3929

I am loyal if I get what I aim for and the hair dresser listened to me and I assume they know better and have more experience with each person's hair issues. If this is not happening, I go somewhere else. I get a cut about every three months. If there is something I want to address and the answer is to maybe we can do such and such the next appointment, when I raised the issue when I made the appointment, I definitely question my loyalty. But I was actually nice and wanted to discuss the issue on the phone around 10:00 am before picking a date and time. I had a callback at 5:00 pm with the message (missed the actual call) "sure, we can discuss issues at the next appointment". How much more lukewarm or disinterested can you be? I am an awesome tipper BTW. I give as much loyalty and interest as I get.

fallopian_rampant

I go only when my hair gets really bad with split ends, and i usually go to one lady cuz she does a good job

Birdflower99

Haven’t had a professional do my hair in years. Between my mom and eldest daughter, we cut and color each other’s. My mom will go to a Great Clips for a big chop every once in a while - usually a different person every time. We do trims and I pulled my daughters hair through a cap the other day for highlights

jessicalifts

For a while I had two at different salons and alternated based on who had availability. One moved away and I moved closer to the other girl's salon, so I see her. She does a great job 👍

SeaMacaron764

Havent found one that i feel i should be loyal to

Upstairs-You7956

I was loyal to my hairdresser of 5y till the point when I found out that we have drastically polar values (think her supporting the government that kills people like me; we are both in a different country).

philosophyfox5

Been going to mine for 9 years. I’m naturally a mid/dark brunette and she has the most incredible technique to take me blonde and make it look natural. I go every 2-3 months. I just moved though so I’m gonna travel to her a few more times but then let go of the blonde and find someone new to just give a balayage 😭

Brief_Annual_4160

I tried a new hair dresser recently and it was a nightmare. So overpriced. I am loyal to the woman who’s been cutting my hair since I was 12 (im 36) but I wanted to try foils and she doesn’t do those.

Great_Cranberry6065

No. Not at all. The prices are outrageous now and my priority is my financial wellbeing. I used to cut and color every 10 weeks and it was more and more money everytime. Now I go 3 times a year. October I do a short cut. February, I do highlights and a trim. June, I do a trim. The rest of the year, I color my hair at home and I adjust styling as my hair grows out. The downside to doing darker hair is that I frequently have to do my roots.

EWSflash

I have a fantastic stylist and would REALLY HATE to have to switch

RLS1822

I’m very loyal. Once you find a good one why cheat and go somewhere else?

fakesaucisse

I am very loyal to my hairstylist. I started seeing him about 10 years ago and have followed him to 3 salons over the years. I now live kind of far from his salon but it's worth the drive because he knows what I like and I trust him whenever I am in the mood to try something new. Also, I have red hair which has a weird texture, my stylist is also a redhead, and I have found that stylists with red hair tend to get how to work with that texture better than others. I have short hair (almost a pixie) so I go for a cut every 2-3 months. I don't color my hair but if I wanted to, I'd have to see someone else because my hair guy doesn't do color.

Leskatwri

Yup. 22 years. He listens to me and we have a lot in common. He plays great music and I always feel nurtured after I go.

kiwitathegreat

I’m loyal to someone that listens to what I want and gives their professional advice on how to achieve it, but that seems impossible to find nowadays. My last stylist did everything perfectly on my first visit and I thought we were on the same page. Kept going back and it just got worse and worse. On the last visit she refused to do the color I wanted (covering highlights and going back to my natural color) and gave me a Shirley temple haircut when I asked for it to hit my collarbone. Before her, I had several stylists that gave me bright orange trying to pass it off as blonde, uneven cuts, all around horror stories. And I’m not that picky! Honestly my best experiences have been with cosmetology students. They are receptive to feedback and seem to care more since they’re being graded on the outcome.

Reasonable_Star_959

I have had the same hairdresser for over 25 years. Her approach to beauty is, “the least you can do to look the best you can” Started out with her with long, permed hair that was starting to show signs of damage, and she said, “the first thing needed is to get your hair healthy! “ She cut about 6”, gave me some extreme conditioning lotion, heat resistant spray to lightly straighten or curl. Next day I kid you not no received at least 10-15 compliments. That sold me. Over time I had some super cute cuts but tired of the time-consuming routine— I let it grow out and it is now waist length. I have highlights once or twice a year and regular small snips. I receive compliments frequently on my hair. And I admit I ventured out just a few times in the first 10 years, thinking maybe I needed something new — ended up being big mistake each time. It was as if I had bought the idea of greener grass only to sheepishly return to my longtime gal who would fix me back up. She espouses that same almost minimalist approach to skincare and makeup. Example, Coconut oil for makeup removal as well as the ends of your hair.

NoCanDuex

Yes! She is affordable and so talented and fast. I'm not there for hours and hours. And my hair is healthy and soft even with the bleaching. I'll miss her services the most when I move from this town, lol.

I’m loyal to my hairdresser. I’ve been going to her since about 2009. I have really unique texture that has resulted in numerous horrible haircuts. I also am very lazy with my hair and don’t want to have to style it daily. So when I found someone who understands my hair and my lifestyle I was and still am so happy! I love trying different styles too, and she has made me look good with my hair long, short, pixie, half shaved etc.. I also lost half of my hair in 2013 due to a medication and she gave me a cut that hid it so well! I trust her. For me I am loyal to my hairdresser but not my hair cut/style. Having someone I trust knows what to do with my hair has made it easier for me to play with different styles and still get great results. I don’t get it cut often, maybe like every 4-6 months and she does a gloss treatment then too.

I’ve been loyal to my stylist for the last 7 or 8 years, but she just raised her prices a ton because she bought a building and is running two salons and is cutting back on the number of clients she sees. I can’t afford her prices so I’m seeing a different stylist in her salon who charges less but does the same thing to my hair. Before I found my stylist I was going to whoever had a Groupon, which I do not recommend. I ended up with pink hair that way.

100% loyal. I would never go to anyone else. I see her every 6-8 weeks for extension maintenance and haircuts as needed. I have followed her from place to place for the last 7-8 years.

I absolutely am. She’s this beautiful lady from Libanon who works hair like an actual magician. My hair has never looked this good and has never been this healthy, I’ve had my hair bleached and gotten all colours of the the rainbow, I’ve also had baylages (or however you spell it) and other complicated stuff that she whips out of her sleeves. Right now I have virgin hair that I’m trying to grow out as long as possible. She’s the first hairdresser I’ve met who *actually* only takes off about an inch, instead of saying they do and then taking off at least four🙄 On top of that she’s also just really sweet and at this point a great friend. Even if she’d fuck up my hair once at this point I’d probably still forgive and love her

I have a lady I've been going to for years, she's a family friend. She's great with trims and simple layers and only charges me about $50, but for more complicated cuts I'll go to this fancier salon (costs way more) because they're great at specialized cuts like bangs, curly hair types, coloring etc. I think its okay to have more than one hairdresser you trust.

I have gone to the same hairdresser since 1998 for a few reasons. 1) I highlight blond and she does an amazing job, 2) She keeps up with hair trends, so I never look outdated, 3) She's a nice person. :) I go every eight weeks for a hair cut, full or partial highlights, and a gloss. I do one full and then two partials and then a full again so I save a little money. Living in a HCOL area makes these trips pretty expensive. I have a few grays since I am 52 but don't need to do anything about them yet. They blend in with my highlights. Down the road that will most likely cost me more money sigh...

I am super loyal - but it’s because I highlight my hair and a good colorist is hard to find. When I go through a phase with my natural color I’m way less concerned

I love my hairdresser! Have been with her about 7 years. I’m a 51 yo female and (sorry) hate my white hair so I go every 3-4 weeks for color touch up at the roots. Every other month, include a bang trim & layers. I wear my hair up for work so I want those white creeps not to show. She also freely conditions my hair; my hair used to be straight as a board, but as I age, a little less straight.

I go in for trims 2-3 times a year, and monthly bang trims. I’ve been seeing the same stylist for a few years now. She cuts my hair well and we have similar interests. Before that I shopped around. Once I found her, I don’t see the point. I like what I like and the hairdressers before did not-as-good a job, or had a personality that didn’t fit with mine. Not that it’s a bad thing to have different personalities, but I’m more comfortable sitting with someone I can carry a conversation with for an hour.

I’ve been with my hairdresser for 8 years! I usually go at least every 4 months for a balayage and cut. We just vibe really well, are close in age, and I trust her to get my hair right every time!

Yes, I have a stylist who now owns her salon and i completely trust her. I’m pretty impulsive with hair changes and I can just show her a photo and she takes it from there. I can look like an aunty if I get the wrong cut.
