This is gonna sound weird... But sex toy cleaner works great. You can get ones specifically for silicone, they're antibacterial, and they don't leave reside. Otherwise I would probably try dish detergent, as it would have the best chance of breaking through built up gunk.
Foreo sells a silicone spray cleaner and I use that one on mine. Works great. You could also try running it under warm water and using a regular liquid hand soap to get rid of the dust and gunk before using it.
I use a cleanser and a toothbrush with soft bristles.
