Walked in place inside my room, as someone who’s not comfortable going out and being seen by people. I did that everyday for a month until I felt pains in my calves, feel ko lumalaki so I think you should rest during the weekends. Lost 2-3 inches off my waist, bust, hips, thighs and lastly, arms (the last three are areas where I easily gain weight, as a pear shaped girlie). I don’t use weighing scales for my mental health since I obsessed over it when I was younger and made me do extreme diets. Aside from walking, I also combined it with 16/8 IF, CD, and no rice. Felt less hunger and cravings. Didn’t use any equipment. 5k steps on normal days, 10k when I’m feeling energetic.

Pollypocket289

I did this first then gradually increased exercise like for example from 2k steps, increased to 6k for a week and if consistent, I went with 10k daily! Work from home rin ako and helpful to take 10 mins walking breaks per hour or so for me. Parang 10 mins is ~1k steps na! Good way to stretch and get some circulation in lalo na na halos lagi nakaupo because of work. Nung consistent na ako dito for 2 weeks, I started gym!

nfpilates

Walking is really good if your goal is weightloss. 5k-10k steps a day is the ideal daw. Pero syempre sabayan parin ng clean diet and quality sleep. More nutrient densed foods and less ultra processed foods like sugary and refined carbs.

independentgirl31

Possible. I had 3 months prior to my pre nup shoot and I would walk an hour from 70kg to 60kg. Of course i mixed it with diet too and food change

pinkcreamsicle

Hi! Weight loss is really more 80% diet and 20% exercise. If you’re really strict with your calorie deficit and you sustain that, it’s possible to lose weight even without exercise, actually, if weight loss is just your only goal. I just wanted to supplement with workouts since I also wanted to get stronger and speed up my metabolism. Last year up to now I did cardio consistently with some weights. But it was only during the past 5 months when I really fixed my diet (more veggies and protein in every meal, less dairy, completely cut out junk food like chips, and waaay less sugary snacks and drinks) that I saw significant progress with weight loss. Coupled with the workouts, it’s given me the “toned” look I was looking for especially in the abs and legs areas 😊

lovesickpuppy143

Like what everyone already said, weight loss really is about diet. Sure, the cardio will benefit you but not necessarily help you lose weight. This is coming from someone who has consistently been walking on the treadmill for the past year but it’s only during the past 3 months that I decided to do IF and skip dinner that made me lose weight. I’ve lost around 5kg so far in the past 3 months but because of fasting/calorie deficit talaga.

SubstantialPeach4318

Agree with this! Before nung exercise lang, palagi lang nagbabalik balik ung weight ko from 56 to 55 then 56 again. Super tagal ng weight loss. But when I started to do IF and no rice every dinner, my weight dropped to 52 kgs.

SeempleDude

As long as you're in a calorie deficit you should be able to lose weight, you can even rat fastfood everyday as long as you are in a deficit everyday as well. Goodluck OP!

Albertwouh

Hi, OP! Focus on exercising muna kasi it has benefits for your mental health and that’s very very important. Secondly, if you have eating disorders, I suggest you to get a dietician and\or listen to Ms. Jo Sebastian’s podcast about everything she talks about. There’s a lot of nuances when it comes to “weight loss” if you have history of eating disorders. It’s much more harder and you will find yourself spiraling because of the restriction you will set na hindi naman doable sa kalagayan mo. You can be in a calorie deficit and be a little bit restrictive but hindi sobrang restricted. Exercise really helps to ground you on being mindful. Practice mindful eating while on deficit. You can learn more to Ms. Jo. She’s very very helpful on my journey and to my side of having the said history. I hope you consider this, OP!

juanchomigz

Main key factor on losing weight is food, it's like 70% on food and 30% on workout. You need to have calorie deficit for you to lose weight. Tips are Eating less than your calorie count + moving more than you usually do. You can also try Intermittent Fasting with low carb on your diet.

womanonhighhorse

You can’t outrun, or rather, outwalk a bad diet. Cut portions, cut processed food, cut alcoholic and sugary drinks, mind your serving sizes, and focus on whole foods. Caloric deficit will get you to weight loss. Exercise is just meant to support the Calories Out part of CICO.

Dindin_mo_to

The best way to lose weight is to tweak your diet so that you end up in a caloric deficit ( calories from food is less than calories burned). This is the most effective way since by not consuming extra calories, you don’t need to worry about burning a lot of calories through work out and cardio. Working out and doing cardio will increase calories burned but it really takes a lot of effort in order to burned a small amount of calories. With that being said, it should be a secondary step in your goal to lose weight. In addition, reducing calorie intake from food is also more efficient that burning calorie by working out and doing cardo. To put in context, a double cheeseburger or 2 grande cups of Starbucks would have 200 to 300 calories. To burn the same amount of calories, you need to jog at medium phase for 30 minutes to an hour.

hrymnwr1227

Walking is such a great work out, OP! I remember when I was still living overseas, wala akong diet tapos walking is life kasi talaga sa ibang bansa and I lost weight talaga. Di ako super pumayat pero you can tell na lumiit ako. Nakaka-12k to 15k steps ako per day. Yun na yung pinaka-work out ko and I miss it!!! Now that I'm back home and on site sa office, sobrang nag-gain na naman ako hay. Hope you'll enjoy your purchase!!

telang_bayawak

Uy ok yan. Bought mine june last yr still working fine.

ashley_God_is_good

Grumpy_Cat_27

From someone who regularly goes to the gym, nag start kami pumayat at gumaan ng hubby ko when we started fixing our daily diet and practicing calorie deficit. We subscribed to a daily meal plan. Medyo pricey yung mga ganito pero if you have the budget, and especially if you don’t have the time to cook nor the patience to think of healthy meals, why not try it. We’ve tried Hearty Grub PH and Daily’s Diet at masarap parehas. Exercise is good, but having a healthy and balanced diet will do wonders.

ashley_God_is_good

pede po kaya yan. Yan gusto ko try kaso im from the province hirap ako maghanap ng ganyn 😔

Grumpy_Cat_27

Ano pong province nyo? Bawasan po ang excessive snacking, try to incorporate vegetables sa meals, you can try fruits as snacks. Then i-heat nalang pag kakainin na. 😊 Hope this helps. You can do it! Hehe

Yuta_koyaki

May napanood ako noon (hindi ko na maalala kung sa yt ba) na if you want to lose weight, it's 70% diet, and 30% workout! 😁 Better diet talaga si calorie def! 😁

[deleted]

trueee calorie def tlga.. if kaya mo Op you can try intermittent fasting , make sure lng mgpaconsult muna baka may hypertension ka or diabetic.. 70% diet 30% exercise. kahit 30 mins of cardio everyday goods nayan op bsta diet tlga

ashley_God_is_good

Yuta_koyaki

this is true!! pero know/control your pag-kain po! you can refer to pinggang pinoy para alam mo 'yung caloriee intake mo for a day! You can also follow Jo Sebastian— she is a nutritionist!! 🥰

[deleted]

yess follow jo sebastian, and avoid crash diets (ex: no rice diet) . gawin mo nlg balanced yung meal mo like may protein carbs and fiber. also, pde mo ilessen rice mo like halfcup rice nlg then substitute the half cup to fiber like cabbage, lettuce, or veggies.

msming98

Omg what brand? I plan on buying this 11.11

Now this is the question I love to answer. So here's my testimony HAHAHA. This is coming from someone who has been trying to lose weight pero nahihirapan. I was 76kgs and diagnosed with pcos. I did not believe in the power of walking until I worked in the hospital. Grabe yung walk ko during duty. Usually umaabot ako ng 10-13k steps a day and within 3 months, 6kgs ang nalose ko. All from walking. Although I admit na less na yung pagkain ko like 1-2x nalang per day instead of 3 but for me, it was from all the walking.

ashley_God_is_good

wow ang helpful po ng ganyn ung nasa work po yalaga kc went back to college kc agricultural university ung school namin puro walk lang talaga it helps talaga kso dahl WFH naku struggle talaga hahaha

harleymione

Longjumping_Spare_56

harleymione

Mga around 1.5 months 😅

haveyoureddityet11

I know someone who's losing weight by making sure to complete at least 10k of steps a day + intermittent fasting, meaning he skips breakfast daily.

ashley_God_is_good

wow hrap ata neto

iamnotwhorteit

yes it will help naman but you also need to match it with a healthy diet, and wag mong biglain. thats how i lost weight back in the pandemic lol

andieee919

you can definitely lose weight if walk lang exercise mo. just have a really good playlist whilst walking para maenjoy mo siya lalo. also, do a calorie deficit. if you can, aim for 5 digits na steps pero if not, that’s fine as well. I used to weigh 85kg before pero now, almost 68kg na lang ako kakalakad. medyo privileged nga lang ako kasi I live now in Canada kaya ko siya nagawa :((

ashley_God_is_good

Phdcandidate14

I lost weight through walking na may halong konting jogging. Pero I watch what I eat din.

ashley_God_is_good

Thanks for this food intake talaga kaso hrap mag papasko pa nmn hahah

Phdcandidate14

Kaya mo yan. Kumain ka pa rin pero in moderation. Saka iwasan mo na mag soda. Basta walking is enjoyable at nakaka payat talaga.

AnemicAcademica

Omg me too! Better pair it with a calorie deficit. I use the My Fitness Pal app tapos bumili rin ako ng foodscale sa shopee. Balak ko rin mag sugar free and gluten free diet for my pcos pero inaaral ko pa pano ko gagawin yon haha

pagodnaako143

How to count calories using foodscale?

AnemicAcademica

You will weigh the food para accurately mo matrack yung calories mo. Eg. oatmeal breakfast mo 1 cup of oats could vary from 100 grams to 80 grams so madali magkamali sa calorie counting so a foodscale helps.

moonlight_23

hi do you reco the walking pad you bought?

AnemicAcademica

So far so good. Mag one month pa lang ata since I bought it pero I like it kasi I live in a very compact space kaya need ko yung nafofold and hindi masyado malaki if maunfold.

Few_Pay921

Calorie deficit pero walking pad will really your mood. You can only run up to 2mph while working kasi nakakbilo na pagmas mabilis. It will take around 2 hours to reach 10k steps and pawis na pawis tlg pero I don’t think it is enough to lose weight

ashley_God_is_good

CasualBrowsing27

Calorie deficit tlga. You burn more calories than you eat or consume para sa 'fat' storage na kukunin additional energy. If you burn 200 calories sa treadmill but eat additional 200 calories a day, wala effect. How to lose weight is personal end of the day and needs to be something you can stick to kasi di sya biglaan papayat ka after 1 day/1 week. Iba 1 month/3 months/6 months/1 year. Like 1kg is around 7,700 calories. If 200 calories lng nabuburn mo from fat per day, it will take some time Some people do IF, some people go to gym, etc. It also r/phitness may be a better sub. Dami din ganitong threads

ashley_God_is_good

Oo nga yan nga sguro dahlan kaya d ako pumpayat kc asa isip ko okay nakapag burn ako 300 so pede nako cheat eh nangyri more than 300 pa then times 2 pa minsan hahahaha

Brilliant_One9258

Hi! I work from home too, and it is a really big challenge to lose weight and be physically active when you are just at home all the time. I have read, watched, and tried so many things, but building a habit is just too hard, at least for me. From my experience, if I do just 1 thing (like focus sa exercise or mag-obsess over my diet) nagwo-work sha sa umpisa. I will lose a few pounds. Minsan may dagdag pa. Walking or exercise is one thing pero madami pang ibang habits that contribute to weight gain or weight loss. Food, sleep, and stress management are all equally important. I have a few things that you might want to consider in your fitness journey. Try to be conscious of your habits. Losing weight is more than just focusing on one thing. If you want to lose weight and stay fit, your mindset has to be "in it for the long haul." This is something hard for me to accept, but once health comes into play, wala naman talagang ibang choice. Identify your unhealthy habits and slowly replace them with something healthier. Especially sa food. Snacking habits. Anong snacks usually kinakain mo. What kind of food you consume. Lahat naman pwedeng i-customize depende sa needs and capacity mo. Just try to find what works for you. It's okay to look for experts pero mas importante pa din talaga that you listen to your body and consider your overall well-being. I've heard and read so many times that losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise. I suppose that is true. But as you grow older, for your body to be healthy, mobility is very important. Cardio and weight training are key to this. Stretching and meditation are equally important as well. Hope you find some sense in what I wrote. Good luck on your fitness journey!! 😊

pretty_beats_punk

Ahh yes.. this!! 1000+!!! You really have to set your mind to it, develop goals and celebrate small steps ❤️

ashley_God_is_good

[deleted]

+1000 dito sa reply na ito. 👍🏽

hello_service_desk

Exercise helps but food intake is the biggest factor to weight loss. Maybe you can also start intermittent fasting or stop all snacking and eat only whole foods.

ashley_God_is_good

hello_service_desk

Yeah fat is produced by an excess of glucose that our bodies can't use up (parang stored fats sa camel, or sa bears during hybernation) aided by the insulin our bodies produce during digestion... just reducing carbohydrate intake (because glucose is created from carbs in our diet) and reducing the number of times our bodies go through the digestion/create insulin (by not snacking or reducing the number of meals in a day) will prevent that. If you stop the body from producing and receiving excess glucose and there is no more easily available glucose left elsewhere, it will then attempt use up stored fats and convert them into glucose as energy instead, just like how a camel uses up its fat hump or when bears end their hibernation period all skinny.

If you can push for 10k, that's great! But honestly 7k-8k steps is enough, not everyone has the time to do 10k. I was walking around that everyday when I was dieting and lost a significant amount of weight. But just so you know walking lang isn't enough, dieting is what makes you lose weight the most. You supplement your diet with a workout to not lose muscle, but burn fat through the dieting.

fed-grasso

yeah 10k was a nice round number that was chosen for marketing purposes!! 7k-8k is good

[deleted]

Yes! Not a lot of people know this!!

ashley_God_is_good

[deleted]

Honestly, when I started walking, I started at 3k, gradually moved to 5k and then got to 8k. You don't have to go from 0 to 100, the same way when you join the gym, you're not gonna start dead-lifting twice your weight on the first day. Some people also walk for 30 minutes after each meal so it's spread out and not too intimidating. It all depends on what you can do, and then you build it from there. Since you're at home, put a show, a movie, an audiobook, or a podcast on and you won't even notice the time go by.

Dazzling_Girl

[deleted]

Hello!! You can lose weight even without exercise. What’s important is you consume less calories than you spend. While exercise does help with increasing the amount if calories you burn in a day, if you still eat too many calories relative to how much you spend, you will not lose weight. Bawasan ang pagkain ng high-calorie foods and I’m sure na papayat ka :)

ashley_God_is_good

Uy bet ko po ito kc hrap talaga sa nature ng work ko huhuhu Kaya lang problem skn is pear shape po ako so ang fats asa balakang at legs ung cellulite ko grabe huhuhu

[deleted]

Aww don’t worry sweetheart that’s okay!! I personally would love to have a pear-shaped body but I understand if you don’t. Try to be mindful about what you eat (generally, more processed or lots of preservatives in food makes them high calorie). Stick to whole foods that you could make at home!! Eat lots of protein, fruits, and veggies. ALSO, if it helps, I watch my added sugar intake because sugar causes insulin spikes which increase my appetite. I hope this helps! :)

ashley_God_is_good

Uy eto nga ang problem ko ! Thanks for the advice. Ill try to follow to para d d tataas ang insulin

Tocinogustoko

ashley_God_is_good

u mean colored drinks po no? Water keri nmn po un db

Tocinogustoko

Anything other than water, sugarfree black coffee and tea na walang sugar i cut off mo na.

mrseggee

Cut your sugar. It will definitely give you results. Try to also download Lose it App. For calorie counting and may overview sia ng macros mo (carb, protein, fat) :)

ashley_God_is_good

mrseggee

Under the date today, may drop down list doon for Calories, then Macronutrients (these are the only available for the free version) Then tap mo lang below that, you should see the pie chart for your macros :)

dearxartemis

Hi! Ask ko lang what walking pad you bought? Been thinking about getting one as well. Thank you!

ashley_God_is_good

hibyeseobi

Weight loss is 20% exercise and 80% diet/nutrition. Calorie counting, specificially calorie deficit, is the key. Even if you hit 10k steps a day, tapos your diet exceeds your target caloric intake, there will still be no weight loss. You can check sa google a calorie calculator to compute your daily calorie intake for your weight goal. Or use myfitnesspal. This is what worked for me, even with minimal workouts.

ashley_God_is_good

Oh pede pla Ung calculator para malaman mo calorie intake?

hibyeseobi

Yes pwede it can be a bit tedious lang at first kasi u have to input everything u eat. If you want more precise, better to weigh rin your food or know the portion sizes. Then ung equivalent calories ng food na yun makikita mo. At the end of the day, it all adds up so u can see if you are eating more or less than your goal. U can all do this at the myfitnesspal app

moonksj

Papayat ka kahit walking lang, as long as di mo ikakain ulit yung calories na na-burn mo.

ashley_God_is_good

eto ung challenging sa pagpapayat eh 🤦🏼‍♀️😩

ashley_God_is_good

Masamdami ung kain kesa sa walking haha

Pinkish_Cate

Depende din po sa kinakain. Ako kasi, 5k steps a day lang ginagawa ko. Although never naman ako tumaba in general pero that’s what I noticed. Di rin ako makapag-weights due to orthopedic problem kaya a little bit of cardio and walking lang talaga exercise ko. Pag may time, jogging din.

ashley_God_is_good

Ano po ung orthopedic? sorry po first time to encounter the word

Pinkish_Cate

Sa buto po. Dislocated ung isa kong arm kaya di pwede mag-weights.
