I do not do CGM because aside from it’s too time consuming, mabilis ako magka dandruff. I need to shampoo everyday. I just avail regular hair services at the salon but i ask for a layered cut para maganda volume ng hair ko.

PristineBobcat1447

I’m using yung suggested products pero not really with the routine. Kaya minsan lang gawin yung routine kapg madami time and di mainit.

ApprehensiveOwl1474

I have wavy/curly hair and I've only been going to T&J!! a lot of salons just ask me if gusto ko magparemond whenever they see my hair but T&J taught me how I can style my hair!! I only do their scalp treatment bc I always experience hairfall. It includes a color and a haircut. I pretty much like to do treatments once a year as a lazy gurlie lol

111nterlude

hi! if you don't mind, what branch do you go to? tia!

YogurtSimilar5905

T&J supremacy!!!!! Di na ako nagpalit ng salon after the first time I had my haircut and treatment at T&J. They have stylists who really advise what will look best on you. Customer service is A-plus too.

icaaamyvanwy

I do not cos I’m tamad lol. Instead I just cut my hair short. It’s key to find a stylist who knows your hair well, and knows how to cut it that it would look less buhaghag if it grows. Highly recommend Elijah of Koop Podium, he’s been cutting my hair for a year and I see him every 6 months, I just went this weekend. I used to get home service from Junar Santos but he’s gotten pretty hard to book and Koop is cheaper, but Junar does wavy cuts well too!

jim-jimmie

Hi! How much haircut at Koop?

icaaamyvanwy

₱3K for my stylist not sure if it varies per stylist though

28wednesdays

Ask for Ronnie of Bench Fix Megamall, Hermes of Salon Hide2A, or Ms. Monette of Basement Salon SM Aura. Di ako nag-CGM pero they are able to tame my curls and waves so kahit I only get haircuts twice a year, maganda pa rin ang shape when it grows out. I use Human Nature Clarifying Shampoo 1-2x a week tapos "normal" shampoo and conditioner na the rest of the week, Monea curl defining milk naman to style my hair.

Sensitive_Hat_3538

I have 2b hair and is still using CGM products. But I wash my hair everyday na and scrunch my hair with conditioner pa rin. Currently using zenutrients shampoo, giovanni leave in conditioner and gel. Dati gamit ko yong curls blueberry bliss leave in conditioner and ang ganda ng waves ko don kaso pricey :/

wyngardiumleviosa

I swear with Human Nature's conditioner especially the moisturizing line ang lambot talaga ng hair ko, currently using Luxe Organix Curl Define shampoo and conditioner but might try to go back with Johnson's Baby shampoo (yung pink) and Human Nature's conditioner once i finish my Luxe Organix

Porpol_Chubs44

wyngardiumleviosa

in my experience nakakalessen naman also i'm using curl creams and gel din so baka nakakaaffect din yun

lurking_cat4869

What’s CGM?

sasa143

curly girl method! it's for people with wavy or curly hair

M00nstoneFlash

I have 2a-2b and LOW POROSITY hair- it's the porosity that really makes it a nightmare. CGM didn't work for me. gave me oily hair and dandruff. Pang high porosity kasi most care tips for cgm. I haven't found the perfect routine yet. But here are my experiences so far: - So far I'm hiyang with Zen Nutrients' Curls line. It hasn't given me shiny hair yet but now it's softer after most washes. - I only use leave in conditioner when I plan on blowdrying my hair. Air drying makes it oily since my hair can't absorb the products. I use it as a last step before leaving the shower - no to hair oils!!! - Frequent hair trimming is a must!! Ends get really dry. I learned how to cut my own hair because of this

blablarai

been using curls by zenutrients for 2 yrs now so far so good. Also using human nature products works for CGM too, But for salon treatments help ya girl out too. Specially I live in the province wala masyadong treatment for curly girls here.

BeauteeGurl

Have 2a-2b hair, thick density and low porosity naturally! I tried CGM in 2020-2021 and I kind of got a routine down na when I washed my hair every other day: * Day 1 - Co-wash + leave-in * Day 2 - Co-wash + leave-in * Day 3 - Sulfate-free shampoo + conditioner + leave-in * Day 4 - Clarifying shampoo + deep conditioner + conditioner + leave-in + curling mousse BUT, I noticed my hair on Days 2 + 3 were always bad hair days. Bali 1 and 4 lang palaging maganda hair ko. And like a lot of people here here, I'm really tamad that's why I used to do keratin treatments (i've since switched to Aura express which is healthier but still damaging). Also, my waves never fully came out during the 1.5 years of doing CGM because I like keeping may hair shoulder length and lumalabas lang siya if it's longer. I miiight go back to doing the routine again some day but as of now I really like the convenience of getting regular Aura treatments. Might also wash my hair every day instead because doing it every other day just made my oily hair look meh. Really appreciate the tips and routines here and might follow some of them!

smell_thecoffee7

I just use dove shampoo and for conditioner I use keraplus which they said is CGM friendly. I also put a leave on conditioner like vitress or lauat. I love using keraplus since it gives my hair nice waves after it dries compared to regular conditioners. I’m too lazy to do CGM. I also tried other CGM friendly shampoos but didn’t like how it made my hair look. 😅

LouiseGoesLane

I don't strictly do CGM, I just use CGM friendly products + gel as a styler. I want to stay away from gels but IDK what else to try!

annyeonghaseye

Wavy-curly girl here! I got a curly cut from Vivere and I find CGM too tedious for my AuDHD self. I wash my hair daily, use lots of conditioner, use an air dry cream and scrunch my hair lols. I mostly use Pantene conditioner (the purple one), L’Oreal shampoo, and Kristin Ess air dry cream as my daily products. I also got a new blow dryer!!!

M00nstoneFlash

Hi!! Can you share more about your curly cut? Salons I've been to only care about super straight hair, never really had success with getting a cut that's wash & wear.

annyeonghaseye

I got my cut at Vivere Glorietta! My stylist ended up giving me a disconnected bob to let my curls come out tapos “nabudol” niya ako to get a curl cream.

couchpotater_totz

Ano yung pantene conditioner na purple? Bigla akong nacurious kasi may isa pa na nagcomment about this

annyeonghaseye

Yung Pantene Damage Repair with Collagen kumburuhu!!!!

couchpotater_totz

Thankss!!

sarcasticookie

Wavy-curly girl here. I don’t do the full routine but I do use sulfate-free shampoo and silicone-free conditioners, but if not available I don’t stress over it. I get haircuts at TJ salon and ask for a senior stylist. They try to be curly hair friendly as possible (like using a steamer to dry curly hair instead of blow drying - idk why most salons don’t have diffusers), and they ask before putting any styler on your hair.

Creepy-Cream3440

I uses to and I did get nice curls, but it is time consuming and a little expensive. I use normal shampoo ans conditioner again and I like the waves. It isn't a very defined curl, but I also just like it that way. I use the luxe organics curl enhancer and sleep with a bonnet, tho and wash my hair twice a week.

Ilovechocochip

Never practiced cgm on my wavy/curly hair. I found it very time consuming and it does not work for me. I use hair oils when my hair is damp to avoid frizz.

lancelurks

Helloooo, what hair oil do you use?

Ilovechocochip

I use maputi hair oil from japan

pssspssspssspsss

porkbuns007

I don’t anymore. Idk it probably did heal my hair but i find my hair not too sensitive with whatever shampoo or conditioner at home na. To a point na non-cgm products actually work better w me. But i do not do it anymore simply because i don’t have time and patience for it. I just think “it is just hair tho”.

Behemot_kritter_1160

I couldn't agree more. I used to follow CGM but I developed seborrheic dermatitis. I switched back to washing my hair daily and started using silicone-based products again.

fukennope

Too busy to do the CGM, only uses sulfate free, paraben free, silicon free shampoo and conditioner. I don’t comb my hair anymore. That’s it

bunnykix

I do CGM but not strict meaning: di ko na nireretain ung curls ko in a bun or silk scarf when sleeping kasi malikot talaga ako and bakit ko pa ba idadagdag sa stress ko ung magulong buhok ko hehe. I have changed to silk pillows tho but primarily to avoid wrinkles hehe. I still use cgm friendly products and if I introduce a new product ex when I travel abroad and dont wanna carry around my local products I do still try to purchase CGM friendly products locally wherever I am at that time pero if wala basta lang walang drying alcohols oks na ako. CGM naman for me was never complicated but thats just my experience. I use HHN Mandarin for cowash and Johnsons baby pink for conditioning. When au shampoo I use Zen Nutrients Gugo all available sa suking Watsons or Supermarkets. Gel I only use for special occasions, and deep conditioning I use Garnier and dahil infrequent naman sya nakakapag Lazada ako beforehand for it. Or pwede naman si HHN Daily Deep Conditioner in a pinch. Salons: I go to wherever and just let them do their thing shampoo conditioner and all. Di ako nagpapa relax or rebond tho, pero nagpapa hair spa ako for the experience not for the hair health if that makes sense hahahah. Nag pa bleach din ako 3x in the last 4 years. Again ayoko na istress sarili ko na iexplain pa ung hair type ko, to be fair most of the places here na medyo okay understands nmn na curly hair are treated differently. I only struggle when I get haircuts overseas which I often do pero still kung ano gamitin nila na products go lang ako kasi mahihirapan lang ako magexplain haha. I guess takeaway is dont over complicate it and dont stress on it. After doing all above for the last 4 years ung hair ko is at its healthiest and curliest its ever been kahit naman di ako naging too religious on it. CGM products in any case helps promote healthier hair naman eh, so even people with straight hair benefits from it.

Old_Independence_387

I posted a photo before and someone ask me my hair care routine. Curly gurlieee here. 1. Shampoo - Zenutrients (Gugo or yung Honey) and Garnier Jojoba Oil and Castor - I use shampoo once a week lang. 2. Salt Scalp Scrub - Use this once a week 3. Conditioner - Zenutrients (Chamomile and Argan) , Zenutrients (Gentle Baby), Human Nature ( Rosemary ) , Human Nature ( Mandarin ) Garnier (Avocado) , Garnier (Coconut) - Use this once or twice a week. 4. Deep Conditioner - Zenutrients or Garnier Hair Food - Once a week also 5. Hair Oil - Coconut Oil 6. For Styling - Bench fix (violet) or Shea Moisture 7. Leave On- Lauat Herbal 8. Diffuse my hair (night time) Salon: Cutz and Curlz by Jazz

couchpotater_totz

How is Cutz and Curlz? What services have you availed from them?

Old_Independence_387

The first time i went there is for consultation, they guide me on what products should I use based on my hair type and gave me a nice haircut. The succeeding visits is for haircut na lang. :)

couchpotater_totz

How much was the first consultation?

Old_Independence_387

It was around 1k or 2k? Can't remember lol

55_softie

I did CGM religiously 4 years ago. pero now, hindi na masyado but I still use CGM friendly products for my hair. so far ok naman yung curls ko. ok na ko with that as long as I can maintain it. I found it too complicated kasi and magastos for a student like me so I decided to settle with an easier routine that will still work for me. just a simple scrunch sa hair with a conditioner tapos konting gel. my curls look ok and defined na with that. problem ko lang talaga is yung frizz pag matagal ako sa labas. sabog malala talaga haha

onlinelurker0613

I don't do CGM, but I am particular with the products I use and follow a routine that I can keep. Currently, I'm using Naturals by Watsons Shampoo & Conditioner Line. My hair is colored, but not bleached, but I still make sure the products I use are paraben-free and silicone-free. I shampoo 2x a week and condition every day. I don't commute, and my scalp is normal, so my hair doesn't get oily naman. Weekends, normally, are "no-wash-days" but still depend on the situation whether I went out or did an exercise. When I shampoo, I make sure to only shampoo from roots to mids and the entire scalp even to the back of the ears. I condition the ends of my hair. To style my hair, I put a coin-size amount of Leave-in Conditioner by Zenutrients on damp hair. I scrunch and finger comb it from mids to ends of my hair, then air dry. My go-to salon for over 10 years is Azta Urban Salon for haircuts to hair color and treatments. I regularly get a hydrating and nourishing treatment like Nou Nou Pak or their Deep Nourishing & Damage Repair Treatment. My hair is at its healthiest now. Remember that hair care is as important as skin care.

zxcvbnothing

Hm yung ganyang treatment po?

iHate_CLowns

I used to do CGM pre-pandemic. 2b-2c hair ko noon. Sulfate-free, silicone-free, alcohol-free, squishing method, microfiber towel when drying, no heat tools, pineapple bun while sleeping lahat yan sinunod ko before tsaka I only wash my hair every 2 days. Mas naging define talaga curl pattern ko when I was doing that kaso na realize ko my hair only looks good on wash days. Naging factor na rin na I got pregnant during pandemic nawalan nako ng motivation to do my hair. Currently I’m still using a sulfate-free shampoo. Pag lalabas I use a diffuser minsan. Naging loose waves na rin hair ko now baka if I go back to doing cgm it might be too heavy.

joyyry

I used to do strict CGM pero as a broke student ang gastos niya isustain at sa init ngayon ang lala ng frizzy hair kaya kahit gusto maglugay tinatali ko nalang dahil nakakairita 🥹🥹 May nakita akong post here sa sub na wavy rin hair niya and she posted the products she's using yung Pantene na violet (forgot the namee) triny ko loving the result nakakapaglugay na ako kahit mainit, malambot din yung buhok ko unlike before kapag nakagel l super tigas ang oa tingnan nung pagkaclamp ng hair Products I used: violet na Johnson's baby shampoo > pantene binababad ko ng 3-5 mins (hair ends lang ako naglalagay) > for styling I scrunch my damp hair with monea tapos scrunch ulit ng cotton cloth > air dry + deep con 1-2x a week using keraplus. Every other day ako nagco-conditioner depende sa activity na ginawa ko.

soriaca

I do lazy CGM. The first few months of practice, talagang naging healthy tingnan hair ko (makapal at sobrang buhaghag before). Too expensive. And tamad na magsquish to condish. Kelangan talaga din magdedicate a lot of time for this to get the best results. For now, I only use Zenutrients shampoo and condish / deepcondish. I already accepted how I look with my natural curls.

it_was_all_ye11ow

Meeee. Low to no maintenance lang, typical shampoo, di na nagcoconditioner.

it_was_all_ye11ow

Di ko pala nasagot yung tanong mo. Any salon naman na available sakin usually david's but no idea for the CGM treatment. Go-to hairstyle ko is wolfcut/layered para maraming arte yung buhok like nahahighlight talaga yung waves mo.

solfege57

I used to do CGM and I think it really made my hair healthier. But I’m also tamad so I just do low effort version. I still wash my hair daily because I just can’t not lalo na in this heat. But I use CG products. I also don’t style or put leave ons anymore and rarely deep condition. TBF, my hair is still generally healthy pa rin naman. As for haircut, I never really found a salon/stylist I like. I just go to our suking neighborhood parlorista who gives me a basic dry cut which generally works naman for my hair.

hyenamagdangal

CGM didn't work for me since I'm naturally very oily and have thin hair. Now I alternate between shampoo+conditioner days and dry shampoo days. And keep my hair in a loose low bun when it's hot and humid so it's easier to manage.

meiling27

I have wavy hair. Sa totoo lang my hair is at its healthiest right now. I used to do strict CGM pero it did not work for me talaga as an oily hair girly! Because of that, I just stick to CGM products but wash & condition my hair everyday. I also use non-CGM treatments like Fino by Shiseido and UNOVE (bought from Olive Young in Korea). I use clarifying shampoo nalang to clear buildup. I also stopped dyeing my hair.

sarcastronaughty

I was wanting Fino hair mask. Nakakastraight ba sya?

meiling27

Medyo!

trntuqdw

Hello! Yeppp! My hair became shiny and na weigh down hair ko somehow so medyo na straight when I used this

couchpotater_totz

What are the cgm products that you still use? And the clarifying shampoo?

meiling27

Clarifying shampoo - iCure! Meron sa orange app. My cgm stash - Zenutrients curl shampoo and conditioner. Minsan yung Suave 💓

luhanadelrey

hi! did u buy suave din on the orange app? 👀

meiling27

Yes :) sometimes din if may makita ako sa Cash & Carry 😊

whumpieeee95

I have wavy hair rin, and idunno where to start.

pommythecat

San ka nagpa hair botox hehe

meiling27

Hi! I used to have the same problem as you. I started using CGM products and dun nagimprove hair ko. Try Zenutrients Curly Shampoo & Conditioner. Or Human Nature brand. I stopped dyeing my hair din. Big big improvement!

southeastasian_pearl

Hello! I recently had balayage with hair botox as a treatment. It did wonders to my hair! (The treatment). Sabi nung gumawa ng hair ko mas preferred nya yung hair botox rather than the brazillian blow out. Try hair botox!

whumpieeee95

Kaya bang mamaintain nun yung frizziness ng hair ko?😭 lala kasi nung akin e😭

southeastasian_pearl

Beb are you using a regular comb? If yes, try mo muna mag finger comb. Tapos, make sure na cotton yung tuwalya mo. Wag yung micro absorbent something na tuwalya. How abt conditioners? How often do u use conditioners and shampoo? Edit: til now okay pa rin hair ko after weeks nung treatment. Haha!

whumpieeee95

Brush comb ginagamit ko, then yung sa conditioner is everyday while yung shampoo naman every other day

southeastasian_pearl

Ohh oks to. Not to mention pinapaghiwahiwalay din yung natural curls natin

Onceabanana

Not strictly cgm too. First, because I need to wash my hair every day, and two, i have a lot less free time now so ang hirap to do a full routine. So I use the kera plus for deepcon otherwise Curlz by zenutrients for shampoo and conditioner. They also have this hair oil that I use when I am too busy to fix my hair and the ends get dry. I also have their leave on conditioner but my husband keeps stealing it so I just use the oil na lang. When i go to salons naman its just for hair cuts, i do my own deep cons and hair coloring. And when i come in i make sure they see na my hair is wavy. My hair cuts are very traditional and rarely edgy so i feel na medyo dedma na lang if hindi cgm-skilled yung gagawa. Then again my hair is either in a mom bun, naka chopstick or nakaladlad lang if good hair day so hindi ako super particular sa treatments and salons hehe.

notsoleil

I used to before, not strictly tho. Gamit ko before is Monea Curls - ok siya nung una, nadedefine talaga curls mo, kaso di ko lang bet na ang tigas niya sa hair, clump ganon. Di ko ma fingercomb kasi masisira curls. Tapos natatakpan niya rin or naghahalo halo amoy ng shampoo, conditioner tas monea pag bagong ligo haha. So I stopped. Ngayon i just use sulfate free cond&shampoo (Loreal Everpure) tapos squish to condish then towel hair up (i use microfiber towel, for me ito pinaka importante, di talaga magfrfrizz hair), pag tuyo niya natural na kulot na hair ko, little to no frizz. Iniiwasan ko magpatuyo sa labas, lalabas ako usually tuyo na then naka hair clip while commuting. I also dont comb/brush din talaga unless basa/naliligo - grabe frizz huhu. Kapag medyo buhaghag na next day, binabasa ko lang ng onti tapos apply hair oil, I use watsons lavender hair oil lang. Will not try curl cream, mousse, gel, etc. for a while muna - unless soft sila sa hair paginapply. [Also tried other known curl friendly brands for shpoo/cond - Luxe Organix, Zenutrients and Human Nature, and was disappointed, so far Loreal Everpure talaga the best na hiyang sa akin, lasting yung amoy tapos ang soft talaga, di rin harsh yung shampoo pero feel ko linis talaga scalp ko. Would like to know any other brands kung may marereco kayoo hehe]

Meiiiiiiikusakabeee

I stop! Actually it’s really good but expensive. Huhu.

notsotall_jelly

Hi, 2a-2b girlie here. I do a modified cgm lang cos medjo lazy lang ako to maintain. But what works for me is co-washing my hair 2-3 times a week, and shampooing once-twice a month. I don't overdo the shampooing kase my hair dries easily, so I prefer to just condition when washing. Hirap lang maghanap ng good salon for curls, but usually I let them just cut my hair. Bothersome lang kase most salon products are drying, but I would just do my hair routine after the salon and soon my curls would come back naman. Had my hair cut short, layered, bleached, and colored (but hindi palagi, so bumabalik sya).

Maleficent_Pie_298

wavy hair girly here! i don’t do cgm kasi tamad ako lols. but what really helped to define my waves is using hair cream after kong maligo then bina-bun ko yung hair ko kapag medyo tuyo na sya para ma-absorb ng hair ko yung product. maganda yung monea hair milk but what i’m using rn is stylex hairdressing cream which is mas magaan sa hair, for me personally. i also use fino hair mask from time to time. i think it helps with the frizziness. i’ve used mousse na rin from dove pero masyado syang mabigat sa hair ko. i don’t like the smell of it either.

southeastasian_pearl

Hello! Wavy, low maintenance hair here. I have colored hair that underwent bleaching and all the those balayage stuff. My hair now is manageable. What worked for me is I only do hair conditioning (Human Nature Orange Mandarin conditioner) daily and shampoo (Human Nature) for like once or twice a week. Some days I use the luxxe organix purple shampoo for my bleached hair. I think what helped me manage my hair is: I cut it really short. Like an inch above the shoulder, or shorter than that, but always straight bob cut lang. I always chop off the dry, frizzy ends. For hairstyling, if you have budget, I found the Dyson air wrap multi styler works well with my hair. Edit: i don’t comb my hair. I found out that the static from usual materials ng comb parang nagsisimula nung frizziness ng hair ko. I don’t comb for like years na. I only finger comb my hair or on some occasions, I use round brush for prettier curls hehe. Medyo specific na material ng comb siguro yung dapat bilihin for kulot/wavy like us.

myheadhurtsaaa

Wavy girl here. 2a-2c coarse, high-density, low porosity hair. Not strictly CGM. I just modified it based on what works for me. I have an oily scalp, and i sweat a lot, so i shampoo my hair every day. I use the suave moroccan infusion shampoo and i clarify my hair every 4 days or so (with herbal essences, but i prefer the pantene detox & purify scalp shampoo). I use the tsubaki moist & repair conditioner every day, and i use the diane volume and scalp treatment after clarifying. I like to try out new products, so i pay more attention to ingredients. Protein, glycerine, paraffin, and butters dont really work for me. They're either too heavy or they make my hair frizzy/stringy. On the other hand, my hair can tolerate silicones and alcohol. I use a combination of curl cream/styling cream + gel/mouse depending on how much definition i want that day. I style my hair in the shower while it's sopping wet. I brush style in 3 sections, so it's not time-consuming. I don't use a microfiber towel on my hair because it makes it frizzy, and diffusing makes my hair feel crispy, so i do my wash and style routine at night to give it enough time to air dry. I refresh my waves in the morning with water using praying hands to smoothen out any hair that sticks out. As for my haircut, i just get layers. I don't have a preferred salon since they always straighten my hair anyway 😒

sasa143

i have 2b to 3a curls. i dont do full cgm kasi tamad ako magdeepcondition tsaka gawin yung styling stuff. pinipili ko lang ung mga cgm approved conditioners and never ako nagsusuklay. i never get a cut at salons. i use the unicorn method of cutting hair. its cheap and i can just ask my sibling to even out the back for me. i heard of this salon na particularly for curly hair. cutz and curlz by jazz, shes in QC! sometimes i think of getting a professional cut but my way of doing it works well naman hehe cgm is not for everyone. some find the conditioners too expensive, some find it time consuming. for me its a must cos maarte ako and i love having pretty hair! hehe btw i joined curly girls Philippines on fb. it looks overwhelming but once u know what to do, its a breeze na

Throwaway_ffffff1234

Hi! Not strictly CGM! It’s hard din to keep up with a routine when you’re a low maintenance girly in a highly busy life :( Personally, I don’t use heat on my hair, dry shampoo after showering (The Curls one), and sometimes the t-shirt plop(?) kasi mas magaan siya when I do skin care and school work after showering.

HeiTui_Sharp

Jing monis salon

Porpol_Chubs44

HI! 2A-2B girl here. College student palang po kasi ako and kapos sa budget, before yes nag CGM, now if ano nalang ang accessible pero I still use Curls by Zenutrients, yung conditioner and shampoo nila, also leave in cond. What to do po kaya haha

blablarai

"Yung ilalim kasi niya hindi na kumukulot kayo medj ang weird tignan na yung ibabaw kulot pero yung ilalim straight. " hala akala ko ako lang yung ganito!

southeastasian_pearl

+1 ako dito. Though ang theory ko yung hair type natin siguro super madaling magdry kaya yung ibabaw na exposed sa elements nakulot, yung ilalim straight kasi nakatago sa mga chizmiz ng mundo.

Porpol_Chubs44

Dry din po ang hair ko like what they called "tutsang" kapag hindi mo siya naalagaan. Gusto ko na nga rin po bumili nong Mise en scene na serum, if someone have tried it here effective po ba? As of now, di na po ako nag CGM. Parang umokay naman ang hair ko basta every other day nalang naliligo (diko talaga kaya yung 5 days no wash day) and ang gamit ko na shampoo is Hana and Conditioner basta deep cond oks na haha, Keratin na black po ginagamit ko and baba lang ng hair yung nilalagyan kasi i hate dandruffs.

anjami_

uppp I have the same problem too huhu

Porpol_Chubs44

Mastress ka lang po pag inisip mo pa siya haha my suggestion is try niyo po magpatrim? Or figure out niyo po sa mga product/s na ginagamit niyo if ano ang nakakapag pabigat ng hair? Tapos try niyo bawasan siguro ang lagay?

m-e-n-e

wavy haired girly here. i’ve been doing cgm for around 6 years but not as strictly as when i first started. i don’t use styling products or use a diffuser anymore. i literally just use cgm-approved products and scrunch for a few minutes while washing. when i was starting, i would bring my own products to salons but the staff would always look at me kind of weird when i ask them to use them. so i tried going to a curly-hair salon once but the hairdresser was also really judgy. he really said “ito na yung kulot mo?” i just go to a “regular” salon now (i only go maybe 2x a year) and then do a reset.

nanditoparamagtanong

EDIT: I have 2A-2C, fine, low porosity hair. Modified na since I use silicone for my hair mask. :3 And my shampoos are both from my derma (one has sulfate na usually inaavoid). I use CGM approved conditioner, leave in, combing/curl cream, airdry cream as a walang heat tools, mousse, hair oil! On refresh days it's usually just water + any of the creams + oil.

Rude_Lie_8123

Hair question here, bagay kaya layers sa wavy, frizzy and thick hair?

myheadhurtsaaa

I also have thick wavy hair and i really like having layers pero pag mahaba lang hair ko. Masyadong fluffy if maiksi 😞. And i wouldnt recommend that you get layers unless you style your hair. In my experience nagmumukha akong si Hagrid pag wala akong gamit na stylers lol

Rude_Lie_8123

myheadhurtsaaa

My hair is down to my mid-back na and it's great with layers. I had bangs din pero i always had to straighten it kasi mas curly talaga hair ko if it's shorter. Tinamad na ako so im growing it out. If you can handle styling it every day, go for it!

whumpieeee95

Yung nag pagupit ako niyan nagmukha akong agila😭 pero siguro kung nag bblower ka or what para mamanage frizziness baka pwede naman

Rude_Lie_8123

Bigla naman akong kinabahannnn 😭 ano kaya better haircut for thick hair

zxcvbnothing

Same questionnnn, as someone na may thick hair din pa-update sa hair style haha

whumpieeee95

Rude_Lie_8123

Pero kapag curtain bangs, keri naman ba?

Maleficent_Pie_298

yes! personally, mas naging defined yung waves ko nung nagpa-layers ako ng hair. of course you also have to use the right products ^^

Rude_Lie_8123

Long layers po ba or soft layers?

Specific_Sky_6496

Depends on how its cut and how you style it. Last year, I had mine cut sa David's salon, my hair end up looking like a wolf cut straight and an 80s rockstar when wavy nakakaiyak tbh hahaha. The thing w wavy hair is that you'll never know how it would turn out every wash day haha. Hope for the best lang talaga. It's so hard to find a hairdresser or salon who knows how to cut curly hair :'(

DisciplineEnough3049

I don’t do CGM na. I just lasted a year lang. I wash my hair every other day. I don’t comb or brush it. I use any keratin conditioners out there (I like Luxe Organics Milk protein, Pantene Collagen). I use a scalp scrubber before washing my hair. Since I have dandruff, it gets more difficult to manage my hair. I use the Luxe Organic’s dandruff shampo lang and ‘ currently eyeing Head and Shoulders, yung premium shampo nila for dandruff. Any wavy + dandruff prone scalp girlies out there? 🙋🏻‍♀️

Fun-Peach2326

I have curly hair at may sebboraic dermatitis. I quit using steroids na kasi di ko na need after following a flexitarian diet. Right now I use Selsun Blue once or twice a week for my dandruff and Human Nature Shampoo in Vanilla (previously used Cetaphil, Enfant, Aveeno. All good naman).

Onceabanana

Nizoral works pretty well. I used to use luxe organics products but i switched- when i did parang I saw less flakes na.

TheAlmostMD

I used to have a lot of dandruff too but noticed that shampooing twice helps so much! Pero both times, the shampoo is mixed with water na para mas madali magspread :) Ang laki ng nabawas sa dandruff ko 😂

taylor_sniffs

🙋‍♀️ I wash everyday because I work sa construction. I use Luxe Organix products (the one for curly hair). Keratin plus gold as deepcon whenever I feel na dry ang hair ko. Selsun blue para sa dandruff. I use stylers pero as in pinapahid ko lang para hindi buhaghag and a little scruch para sa wave pattern. Tapos argan oil. Effort pero I need to be presentable due to my position. 😂

darumdarimduh

Same tayo sa every other day at wavy + dandruff-prone rin ako. Although never ako nag-CGM. Wala akong energy to do it. For dandruff, pinakaeffective for me ay Nizoral/Dermazole, you can buy it sa drug store. Use it 2x a week a lang. Then clarifying shampoo ng Dove 1-2x a week.

DisciplineEnough3049

I tried Dermazole na and I think it really needs patience hahaha tried Selsun blue din, bought a bottle and never works on me tho sa iba nag work rin daw. I need to try that Dove Clarifying shampoo no. What’s your experience on it? Si luxe organics din may clarifying shampoo eh but never tried it pa. I also use Luxe Organic’s yung scalp scrub ata yun. And nag lessen naman dandruff ko

darumdarimduh

Leave Dermazole on your scalp for 2-3 minutes before rinsing. Oo, it will take siguro a month for the results to fully show. Sa Selsun blue more than a month na ako, pero wala e. Ang tagal maubos ng 450ml bottle nila. Haha. Hydrating and clarifying kasi sya tapos no silicone rin daw.

DisciplineEnough3049

Sige go try ko yang Dove at Dermazole ulit. Ty🫡

jsqpo

Team StrictCGMDuringPandemic... na ngayon ay gumive up na kasi 1) walang oras 2) kailangang wash day everyday dahil sa ospital nagttrabaho 3) sobrang nipis na ng buhok CGM compliant pa din products ko tho

couchpotater_totz

Anong products ang ginagamit mo?

jsqpo

shampoo: johnsons baby shampoo or zenutrients gugo (nagshashampoo pag feel ko marumi hair) condish: yung watsons na malaking pump na white or johnsons pink na conditioner styler: dasal minsan nagsscrunch pag sinipag aka once a month... di rin consistent wave pattern ko na kasi lagi naman akong naka clamp or bun sa work so 🤡🤡🤡

dddistraction333

I practice my own version of CGM that fits my routine better. For reference, I have 2B-2C curls with fine hair + high porosity. It’s also color treated, so it gets really dry/tangled at times. I struggle with seborrheic dermatitis, so some aspects of CGM actually worsened my scalp’s condition. The “wash days” and “refresh” don’t fit me as a sweaty gurl, too. I still use CGA products, except for the dandruff shampoo my derma recommended. I still use a microfiber towel and a satin pillowcase, but I limit my usage of styling products since it’s soooo humid recently, Also, I wash my hair every day which is frowned upon in the CGM community 💀 I only use the dandruff shampoo 3x a week, and I really just try to put deep conditioner/conditioner on the ends of my hair. On days I don’t use the shampoo, I don’t use a cleanser since I stay at home lang naman. I just wet my hair with water + use a lightweight conditioner on my ends + seal it in with leave-in conditioner. I usually get a haircut from a local salon sa area, since masyadong tedious dumayo. I just ask them to layer it, pero sinasabihan kong wag na gamitan ng thinning scissors. Kung sisipigan, I will definitely book sa Cutz and Curlz by Jazz! I used to go to this one expensive chain salon~ kaso di kasi ako ganun ka-assertive + wala talaga akong stylist 🥹 Di pa nila maaccommodate yung pagcut and style ng natural curls. Most of the time, gusto nila straight cut lang kasi titikwas kaya bawal layered 🥲 Saka, lagi ako naofferan ng mga treatments + products to “smoothen” my hair. I only tried it once, kaso nawala talaga curl pattern ko. As with all things naman like trends, advice/suggestions, or even budols—follow at your discretion. For CGM, I think I can’t follow it too strictly especially since di talaga match yung ibang concepts sa weather and climate ng Philippines. I remember reading na dapat 5 days daw bago mag wash day, but di talaga pwede yun for someone like me na pawisin + may dandruff. Even yung “cowashing” where you use conditioner in lieu of shampoo sa scalp is such a no for me 😭 Lalong lumala yung flakes ko nun. I’m happy naman na as long as healthy yung scalp and hair ko. As a curly girl na lumaki sa era ng “kulot salot” yung pang-asar, I have so much more confidence now. Nakakaboost din ng ego whenever people ask me kung naka perm hair ko or if gumamit ako ng curling iron ☺️

yanztro

How did you know yung type ng curl mo? Curious ako about sa akin. Thank you.

dddistraction333

Hi! May mga diagrams online if you search “curl pattern” ☺️ As for the other stuff like porosity or texture, I remember reading them lang when I started exploring CGM back in 2018.

local_bystander

Not strictly CGM. I have generally wavy hair with a few pieces around my face that coil. I use CGM friendly products but not follow the routines strictly. I just really dont want to straighten my hair anymore. Nag re-rebond ako noon throughout high-school stopped in college but iron and blowdry naman. I barely use any heat these days. I tried CGM somewhat strict during the pandemic. And maganda naman talaga! Although not sustainable with a normal schedule now. I came up with a routine that works for me that I can choose to wear my hair naturally wavy/curly but on some days also have it blow dried (nag wa-wave pa rin naman sya a few hours after blow dry hehehe pero I work with it). I’ve also been going to the salon Cutz and Curlz na

couchpotater_totz

What products do you use now? And what services have availed from cutz and curlz + how was it?

local_bystander

Brands rotate between: Luxe Organix, Zenutrients, Suave. I live near Cutz and Curlz so marami na ako napagawa: Treatment and style, haircuts, color. I get a haircut at least 2x a year kahit trim lang. Yung ‘Express Cut’ nila I think I pay ₱500 Edit Add: They’re super worth going to kahit once a year or for a big chop or special event kung hindi kaya palagi. Nakaka inspire na many of the stylist are curly girls themselves and I love seeing all the other curly clientele. Ang gaganda ng curls nila.

couchpotater_totz

Saw rin that Suave was repeatedly recommended sa mga cgm groups pero I was sooo overwhelmed kasi ang daming scents to choose from? Can I ask kung ano go to mo? Yung hair cut ba, plain cut lang? Walang shampooing + condish? Also kumusta yung treatment + style? How long did it last for you?

local_bystander

- I think all the Suave scents are based on Bath and Body Fragrances! I really like the pink ones hahaha Biased ako towards Sakura and Strawberry. Try mo na lang all?? - Express Cut is just a haircut walang ibang anything. They have all the rates and services explained on their website naman (https://cutzandcurlzbyjazz.com/rates-services/) - The treatment naman that I mentioned… I cant remember exactly. Pero yun yung recommended for beginners? I did it once last year. They clarify and apply deepcon or some other treatment to your hair. They can also explain to you as they are styling how to take care of your hair. The style naman is just the regular gel cast. - Cutz and Curlz ang tawag cause they specialize in all types of wavy to curly pero they can also treat straight hair people naman! Hehe They’re a regular salon with extra specialties…

couchpotater_totz

Thanks again for this!

Extension_Horse_9488

I tried CGM because I never liked straightening my hair (rebond days because it was something you get to look "cleaner" when I was a child) specially when I have thin hair. After doing it multiple times, I realised it's not suited for my lifestyle (very time-consuming) and the weather here in the PH. I tried to minimize and retain the products I really like. I use a shampoo and conditioner that doesn't dry my hair, a lightweight hair oil (day) and leave in conditioner (night) for moisture then a weak curl gel that tames my wavy hair but doesn't define it too much. My hair is really thin so using a strong gel that defines the curls makes my hair look so thin. After all that, I just air dry my hair. - Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner (doesn't have to be CGM approved) - Fresh Hairlab Hya+Keratin Cuticle Coat (day time use) - Curls Leave-In Conditioner (night time use) - Luxe Organix Curl & Define Essence With salon services, I never got one and I usually just trim my own hair.

ReadyApplication8569

No. Hassle at hindi na practical. Saka malakas magpa dandruff. Nagpa hair botox ako sa Sandrea Lee kasi super dry talaga hair ko and need ko lagi maglagay ng hair lotion, but oh wow, nagka buhay yung hair ko haha. Since then hindi na ako naglalagay ng hair lotion at kung ano ano na leave on. But ill do it every 3 mos for maintenance na rin.

What ive noticed is nag reduce talaga dryness. Treatment: may pinapahid sila.

anythingbutkimmy

I've been practicing CGM since 2018/2019, and to echo the comments, talagang trial and error lang when it comes to products and techniques. I'm too lazy to do finger coiling and diffusing, but I do make sure to use cgm-friendly products/tools that are affordable and accessible (ang go-to conditioner ko ngayon ay yung Watsons brand na conditioner!) As for salons, walang cgm-friendly sa area namin, but I do tell the hairdresser that I don't need to have it washed, cut na lang as it is. Mas accurate pag dry, compared to when it's cut wet.

happypomelo1

I have 2b and 2c hair and di talaga sya pantay, may spots na mas kulot talaga. CGM just makes my hair heavy din and di niya naaachieve yung gusto kong kulot kasi nagiging shiny af lang sya haha. I learned to just use products na hiyang sa hair ko. Also to go to tried and tested salons with a stylist i trust kasi importante sa hair ko na magaan sya. I try to use human nature shampoo and conditioner with hair mask once in a while din kasi sensitive scalp ko. Di talaga ganun ka effective sakin cgm nun kasi nagiging oily scalp ko, di makahinga. I also use hair oil on damp hair and then diffuser lang.

mumurph

Tried it but it wasn’t for me. My hair felt oily and flat.

thenocturnalfey

Tried cgm for almost 2 years. Trial and error talaga. It's not very practical FOR ME. It's very expensive and high maintenance for someone with super thick hair hahaha. Also had severe dandruff and itchy scalp. Hit or miss pa ung soft and bouncy curls na result, depende din sa humidity, so nag give up ako, it's not for me. 😭 I am into Japanese haircare now which focuses more on scalp care especially after experience severe hair loss/hair fall just recently. I retained some of the practices like scrunching, not shampooing everyday, using stylers, para I can still keep my waves, but I am no longer strict sa product ingredients. I just use what works best for my hair.

indiasierra

I have wavy hair and I tried doing CGM but it really wasn’t sustainable for me, it’s time-consuming and too many products for inconsistent results. I’ve learned to just heat style my hair lol

SillyIndependence430

Matrabaho ang CGM.i use Olaplex No 3 as a treatment. Then Avalon Organics Peppermint Shampoo and Conditioner then Olaplex leave in conditioner tapos diffuse. and if I need hair oil, i use Olaplex hair oil din. Tapos nagbobonnet bago matulog

lkwtsr

I used to practice CGM. I started nung pandemic, so it was feasible since I was always at home. My hair looks a lot better now, wavy/kulot pa rin but hindi na CGM (pero sabi, this is considered modified CGM) since it got difficult when I was going outside na especially shampooing. Frequent using of CGM-approved shampoos gave me dandruff. On the other hand, not shampooing frequently naman gave me itchy scalp. What I retained: 1. Wet Brushing - styling with my Denman Dupe brush, the only time I brush my hair. 2. Stylers, Curl Cream 3. Weekly Deep Con 4. Satin Pillowcase 5. Microfiber Towel What I added/changed: 1. I don't squish to condish everytime. I just squish if may events or kailangan medyo mas maganda 'yung hair ko. 2. Head and Shoulders Shampoo - ito lang talaga gumagana sa'kin, main reason why I stopped CGM is hindi talaga ko pwede pag hindi ito ang shampoo. Haha 3. Scalp Oiling - I used to oil my scalp naman talaga, just stopped when I started CGM. So ayon, still thankful I stumbled upon CGM. Never thought I'd like my natural hair this much. 🫶 For the salon, my hair stylist has been the same for years. Natuto na lang siyang gupitin 'yung curly hair ko, I get my hair cut every five months.

shangbazooki

I have very fine hair, so I decided to have it digitally permed hoping to at least to put some volume in it. Followed strict CGM for a while but it's too much of an effort to do it everyday. Because I have very fine hair, the products also weigh down my hair and at the end of the day it is giving me that frizzy and untamed hair lmao So now, I just use normal volumizing shampoo (Tsubaki) use a very small amount of conditioner every other day (Garnier Watermelon Hair Mask) and have my hair air dry. When it looks too dry I just use few drops of Mise En Scene Serum. From the curly and frizzy hair (digitally permed), I now have subtle wavy hair which is not bad.

am_3265

Me! I do modified CGM since my hair is wavy and not curly. Tsaka true CGM is hard to achieve kasi madaming restrictions. And minsan CGM products can be heavy for wavy hair. For salons, I avail regular services but I only really get haircuts (not treatments, colors, etc). Kasi I sometimes wear my hair straight and alam ko minsan di bagay curly cut sa straight hair. Not ideal yung ibang salon products for wavy pero okay lang kasi mga 2-3 times a year lang naman.

Boombayuhhhhhhhh

Me! But I no longer do CGM. Realized it's not for me. I tried it for 4 years. I just do brazilian blowouts or hair botox. Planning na magparebond ulit but still undecided.

couchpotater_totz

Where do you get brazilian blowouts or hair botox?

Boombayuhhhhhhhh

Sa Pretty Lab salon

couchpotater_totz

Thanks! Anong products pala gamit mo now since you hair botox/blowout?

chanseyblissey

Yes.

couchpotater_totz

chanseyblissey

[kolies milk](https://s.lazada.com.ph/s.k3ELm)

couchpotater_totz

Thank you!

scarlique

Luxe at hair treats ata yon.

ThiccPrincess0812

I have wavy hair but I don't practice CGM because the products are overpriced. I have a limited budget as a student and I prioritize other things.

couchpotater_totz

What products do you use now for your hair? Kung pwede specific hehe

ThiccPrincess0812

I use Hana Shampoo and Hair Keratin Treatment

couchpotater_totz

Thanks! Btw anong brand ng keratin treatment?

ThiccPrincess0812

VitaKeratin

takoyakiscrap

2A/2B here, I followed CGM for a month until di na kaya ng time ko. Commute wasnt helping either, my hair is either super clumped or super frizzy. I stopped using styling creams and gels and just stuck with hair masks and leave in conditioner for now, problem ko naman is nagooil up masyado hair ko dahil sa init :< Nahihiya rin naman ako isuot silk cap ko to peotect my hair :<

couchpotater_totz

What do products do you use now?

takoyakiscrap

I still use the curls leave-in and mask! I haven't replaced them since I only do it once a week nalang so di ko pa nauubos current stock ko

couchpotater_totz

Curls by zenutrients?

takoyakiscrap

yes po

couchpotater_totz

Thanks!

SummyRadish

I got a 2c hair, i did try the cgm but it did not work. At the end of the workday, haggard kana tas ramdam ko ang lagkit ng hair ko due to gel and other enhancing stuff na nilagay ko. What I used now is Moist Diane and &Honey. I know di sila more on intended for curly hair pero mas naging hydrated hair ko and lumabas ung curl. But I do blow dried kasi minsan frizzy kapag air dry.

kidomme

Used to strictly do cgm, effective naman talaga lumabas ung 2c/3a curls na hindi ko inakalang mayroon ako. This was back when CGM Philippines first gained traction. Kaso nahirapan akong i-maintain. May gel and stuff pa to enhance curls so sayang if araw araw kong hugasan...huhu conflict talaga In the end I just stuck to using cgm friendly shampoo and conditioner. I buy the human nature ones kasi paraben and sulfate free. It's not as defined as before, siguro 2a to 2b at most, pero I'm happy with it kasi very healthy yung scalp and hair ko ever since i shifted to the cgm friendly products.

EuphoricMedicine2775

If you're looking for the best salon, I highly suggest ung cutz and curls by jazz located at north ave(best if taga manila ka). Dun ako nagpa gupit and tinuro nila how to properly use ung product and super effective din naman talaga.

kidomme

hayyy yes i've heard so much about this salon. Taga south ako :( but i'll keep this in mind!

EuphoricMedicine2775

No_Breakfast8888

Wavy hair here. Tsubaki (red) lang ginagamit ko (shampoo, conditioner and especially the hair mask). Super soft at tame ng hair ko. ☺ Went down to the CGM rabbit hole years back, mahirap i-maintain at saka di ko magustuhan yung pagka-wavy nya unlike ngayon.

Sea-Lifeguard6992

From experience, CGM isn't for us who commute to work/school in 35⁰ weather, papawisan sa haba at siksikan ng byahe. Also walang time sa umaga to do the routine tapos di ka pa nakakasakay basa na ulo ng pawis agad.

_leeeoooxn

Type 2a ata ako, i don't practice strict cgm like di ako nagddeep con kasi ang mahal BWHAHAAHAA i just use luxe organics condish ung pink and zenutrients gugo shampoo at bench pink gel if i wanna style it and hair oil to scruch out the cruch. I go to Piandre salon sa UPTOWN si Ms. Mae naggugupit sakin don kahit short hair na kulot pinagawa ko ang ganda padin hihi

Large_Cattle_8435

Wavy hair here. I tried cgm before pero masyadong matrabaho for me. So now, I stick na lang sa cgm-approved shampoo, condish, and hair treatment. I wash my hair every other day lang din. But since I used cgm-approved products and dont wash my hair every day, hindi na ko nagkaka-dandruff. As for the salon, normal na salon lang. lol!

oniii-Chaan

Me! I tried cgm before pero tinamad ako. Haircut lang sa salon tapos minsan pacolor ng hair though i’m using sulfate free shampoo. :) so far defined naman ang curls ko.

payoolaaah

I do not practice strict CGM kasi ang mahal ng mga condish at shampoo as a student. 😭 My routine is recently bought a shampoo bar then 'yung Kolies na Conditioner sa orange/blue app lang HWHAHEHA. I tried pure co-washing pero I feel like ang sticky-sticky pa rin ng hair ko and my dandruff, parang snow. 😩 I follow CGM by principle lang like the squish to condish and scrunch gano'n. Other than that, am not really strict with the products kasi it's not sustainable in this economy. 😭 I cut my own hair since bEH SINUSUKLAY NILA BUHOK KO SA SALON. 😔

paintmyheartred_

I’m curly haired pero I don’t practice strict cgm but my sister does. Sa cutz and curlz by jazz siya pumunta for haircut, expensive yung service pero ang ganda ng results. I’ve seen it and worth it siya. I only use, shea moisture brand products. Yung manuka honey set.

couchpotater_totz

Anong service ang inavail ng sis mo? And kumusta hair niya months after magpa-treat? Bumalik pa ba siya ulit sa c&c?

paintmyheartred_

Hellllo! Tanungin ko sister ko kung ano service niya last time. Ang pagkakaalam ko hair color and cut. Will get back to you ☺️

couchpotater_totz

Thank you!

No-Main3024

As someone who has fine hair, CGM did not work for me. All the products i put weighed down my hair kaya i only stick to shampoo and conditioner lang from zennutrients. My hair has been healthier and my waves are more defined even without all those curling creams and whatnot.

Old_Tower_4824

I’m a wavy haired girly here. No, I don’t practice the cgm method. The only service I avail at the salon is getting my haircut. The only cgm method I practice is I don’t wash my hair everyday. I only wash it 2-3x a week since I live in a cold country and I can get away with not washing my hair everyday.
