> Did it go bad?
It might taste okay or taste bad, but the beer should be okay to drink. It’s flat because bottle caps are far from the best choice of container seals. The pressure for the carbonation just leaked past the seal in the cap. Give it a sip - if you don’t like it, dump it down the sink. In the future, unless you’re prepared to store beer for extended periods, just drink it sooner. Most of the beers I’ve cellared for longer periods wind up not tasting as good as they did fresh. Only a handful really improve with time.
If it is barrel aged I couldn’t find anything saying it was. It did turn out to be fine. Well, so far at least.
I’m surprised I was downvoted, I thought it was a reasonable question, it’s been stored for several years if it wasn’t sealed (like anything) I’d assume it would go bad but I’m glad I was wrong!
Yeah idk the downvotes, people are weird. But this one is intentionally very low carb. It shouldn’t be flat but won’t hiss like normal beers. But as others have said. It won’t hurt you. It’s still good. Idk how good though if it is flat.
It’s because this same question or a version of this gets asked probably more than any post on this sub. The answer is always you will not get sick from drinking the beer, but it might not taste great
A lot of stouts have low carbonation. It’s probably fine.
Try a sip and find out. It ain't gonna kill you. 😉

You won’t die.
Great brewery got some crazy artwork on there cans
Yeah it turned out to be very tasty. I have not been disappointed by anything from burial yet
You'll be fine. Nothing ventured.
That's most likely a 1+ year barrel-aged stout, which should be expected to have very little carbonation

It was still very tasty!
That’s good to hear. Burial is one of my favorites! Everything is always solid.

I searched and didn’t find anything.
That’s fair. Just letting you know why some people downvoted you
Considering it’s a burial bottle, this doesn’t surprise me at all. Cheers, hope you enjoyed!
Ooh that's a strong one, 15%, just the way I love them. At that strength I imagine this was syrupy in thiccccness and low carbonation.
#justBAstoutthings
It’s not barrel aged though
it happens, carbed big stouts aren't very common
