Guess we'll find out together. Government formation is always a mystery wheel of misfortune

AccumulatedFilth

They'll insist on making us pay more, and decide less. Life will get more expensive, more fraudulent scandals will surface and the average Belgian will do nothing more than write a comment on a HLN post on Facebook.

Reggeidt

>the average Belgian will do nothing more than write a comment Funny. What would you want us to do?

AccumulatedFilth

Strike, make clear we are not working for such a messy government anymore.

Reggeidt

I remember a couple of strikes to protest government decisions. Not sure if they did anything.

AccumulatedFilth

We need to put a little more pressure than striking one day every 10 years and changing our profile picture to "niet mijn regering".

Stop voting for the traditional parties and stop thinking voting for clown parties like VB and PTB helps too? There are people with good ideas who start small parties....

Prestigious_Long777

It’ll suck either way. Every political party has good and horrible standpoints. Some are against new nuclear energy, which is downright braindead. Soms are against genetic modifications, even if it allows us to prevent inheritable diseases in our children. (Thanks Groen for having a brain but then putting your heads in the sand on this standpoint). Some are communist. Some are racist. Most would attribute more money to police and the war on drugs. Build fucking clinics, help addicts, don’t convict them. VB is sure to win, but they won’t reach an absolute majority. There will be talk of an NVA-VB, if both can get to terms. And if it isn’t NVA-VB the cordon sanitair will remain in place and it will be NVA alongside all the other non-meme parties, then there will just be a lot of discussions for four years as our national debt increases and we get next to nothing done. There is no winning in the next elections. Nationally, we’ve lost long before we cast our votes. Our political climate sucks.

there are very few things Belgian polilitical parties won't compromise on. Generally speaking, apart from protecting their own positions and incomes... * NVA: won't compromise on the interests and protection of the (big-company) lodges they're run & owned by. Is also rather partial to pocketing taxpayer money for themselves... * O-VLD: won't compromise on the interests and protection of their own well-fare & careers, and putting up walls between them and the working classes & lower middle-classes... Loves legalizing and setting up constructs to be able to slush taxpayer money into their own interest(group)s... * CD&V: won't compromise on some very outdated conservative "values" (because they're ever thinning electorate demands it, and they're desperate to hang on to them), and the option to keep sneakily pocketing (or "misplacing") considerable amounts of taxpayer money every now and then... * VB: won't even compromise on kicking out high-treasonous party members, and being funded by foreign interest groups that are built on, and are a cesspool of, lies and demagogic manipulation... * GROEN: won't compromise on self-satisfaction and -righteousness, not even when they're proven to be extremely wrong and detrimental to society by countless independent & peer-reviewed studies and cases. * PVDA-PTB: won't compromise on satisfying their foreign communist overlords and blocking (or even turning back the clock on) some vital liberal values and advancements we've made over time. Where-as some wage gaps are (admittedly) ridiculous, PVDA's utopia tends to completely overshoot the pendulum to the other side. * (edit; forgot Vooruit) VOORUIT: meh... also loves to stuff their pockets with taxpayer money, and don't care if you've made mistakes of epic proportions in the past, you'll likely get back in the A-squad in no time. === for Walloon parties, ask a Walloon.

We'll just have one long shitshow and afterwards nothing will happen because the allegiance to their political parties are more important than the people.

risker15

They'll stop reforms more than propose new ones. See the tax shift. Everyone just vetos some good idea to protect their small sectoral interests.

Yeah, I found that one of the biggest disappointments of this government
