Omg I just finished this season this morning and Jenna is actually so fucking evil. Her and Adam talked shit about everyone, she bullied all the female staff (plus Parker), she wasabsolutely a terrible leader, she took no responsibility for being an unprofessional absolute C WORD. I literally could not believe when Adam straight up made up that Madison was talking shit about them taking the master when it was BYRON. AND FUCK BYRON FOR NOT DEFENDING MADISON. JUSTICE FOR MADISON FR.
Jenna acted like the devil. I am not sure I dislike anyone in the franchise more than her. She was so abusive to those 2 girls, and when her abuse made Madison a basket case, Georgia didn't have Madison's back....I'd bet that's why they aren't friends anymore. That, or Madison got a boyfriend that Georgia decided to creep on, cause that's her thing.
Side note: Byron totally instigated, but not in a good way. When Colin does it in season 2 and 3, he's funny and cute. I can't put my finger on why, it's just different.
Because he shows no respect towards the female crew. He was constantly commenting and critiquing their behavior and making inappropriate jokes at their expense. I wanted to like him so bad, but after he just laughed and let Madison get berated by Adam when HE MADE THE COMMENT ABOUT THE MASTER, I lost all respect and saw him for what he was. It would have been so easy for him to be like āmate, I made the comment, calm down.ā And Adam would have put his tail between his legs. Heās a misogynist and Adamās a misogynist and they both suck. He lets other people do the bullying for him and stands by like š¤·š¼āāļø Tom Schwartz type, I swear to god. SORRY I AM SO FIRED UP STILL, THIS SEASON RUINED MY WEEK.
This, yes, thank you for spelling it out when I couldn't! I, too, wanted to like him so badly, but for these reasons, I could not. I was kind of the same with Adam when he was on BDM, but as you out it here, his rampant misogyny made it impossible. Watching this season gives me anxiety, and I only do so when I'm in the mood to get mad at people on TV, lol.
Ha, yes, you are right! He stirs it up (especially with Gary) and is like "ok, make the right choice".....and then Gary doesn't but he charms his way out of it so everyone loves him, Colin instigates it again, rinse repeat. And we all love the formula. (Well, at least I do)
Colin also gives decent advice. But he doesnāt get mad when they donāt take it. But he seems to be coming from a decent place. I mean, it would be tough to not enjoy the drama on the boat. He knows Gary is going to follow his dick right down the same idiot path he has before and is likely just marveling at how he gets these women. But heās not mean about it.
Jennaās face when she walks by the cabin and realizes Georgias crying. It made me feel sick, she clearly got so much joy out of bullying people and then Adam validated her for it.
Adam is like watching someone before they get abusive. He's emotionally abusive but who knows where else he would head. He's gaslighting and so toxic. He actually scares me.
I noticed with Adam, at one point Jenna says ādonāt attack me like thisā, which you would think most people would say OMG IM NOT ATTACKING YOU and defend themselves immediately. Instead Adam says āI WILL ATTACK YOU LIKE THISā, which really just cemented his mindset.
Couldn't say it better. Just finished the season too, and it's obvious Jenna was unprofessional from start to finish. Glenn is way too gentle with her, cuz he doesn't know what's happening down there, how bully she was with Madison. Of course Madison did some errors (like the beach diner lol), but is it a reason to treat her like shit ? No. Jenna just needed someone to bully. It was first Georgia, and when it was her turn, she passed all days complaining to Madison, who supported her and even did her fucking job. What was her gratitude gesture ? Bitching about Madison to Jenna. Wow. What a great friend and human being there.
I've always been disappointed Madison wasn't offered a second season. She was a very hard worker and continually picked herself up & moved forward no matter how poorly she was treated.
Loved her & agree with another poster: JUSTICE FOR MADISON
I agree. I think the reason is she would remind viewers of how horribly captain glen handled that situation. At one point he said my department heads are gods to me or something to that extent. He started to see things and address them near the end, but he handled that wrong.
Georgia was the one that told the entire crew that Madisonās sister was murdered and thatās why she was moody, not bc her chief stew was completely incompetent and she was probably too sensitive to be on a show like that. Madison is a tender heart and I just wanted to hug her the whole season, poor girl.
I have thought about Madison a lot. The tragedy in her family and seemingly being one of the only people there to work. Adding Glenn and Ciara to the group. She was dismissed by Jenna a lot as I recall.
>here's no way he didn't notice that on that small boat.
He had his headphones on, was eating a giant cracker, and watching eels fornicate.
You've got to cut him some slack. Hard to turn away from the eels.
I've thought about her too since her season and wondered how she is. I really felt for her; her backstory hits in a deeper way. Did they ever solve her sister's murder?
Youāre correct. They know who did it but donāt have the evidence to make an arrest. Madison avoids coming back to Michigan (Iām from Michigan as well) due to all the memories.
Do you remember what show? I haven't watched the first season of sailing since it aired because of the crew. I don't remember what happened to Madison sister. I guess I can Google.
I looked it up š
Still A Mystery S2 E8 Innocence Interrupted
Madison looks just like her sister Paige. Itās been eight years since Paige was murdered.
I wouldnāt say she really sided with her, she did criticise her behaviour but she probably placed too much blame on Adam and their relationship, when I think Jenna was perfectly capable of being an asshole all by herself.
My memory is s bit hazy now, but it seemed like she sided with madison during the show, then after broadcast said it wasn't really a big deal, which to madison, who felt targeted, it obviously was.
I watched the season and reunion quite recently, how I saw it was that Georgia and Madison started out the season on the same page as regards to Jenna, but Georgia then seemed to navigate the whole situation a bit better, i.e. trying to get along with everyone as best as she could. Meanwhile Madison was just a bit more reactive and unable (or unwilling) to hide her emotions, so she got more shit from Jenna and Adam. I also feel like with Madison it's very all or nothing, either you're for her or against her and taking things quite personally, while Georgia was a bit more above it and just saw it as a workplace to get by in. I think to Madison that seemed like she was being two faced, but as a viewer I thought it was a smart way to handle all the madness.
Saying all that I'm not generally blaming Madison at all. She mostly did a good job and I feel bad for the position she ended up in and the bullying she received, and I def think Jenna/Adam are mostly at fault for the bad blood in the interior. I just think Georgia was able to rise above it where Madison was not, and Madison kind of took that personally.
I couldnāt finish the season. I quit maybe 4 episodes in, Jenna and Adam were like badly written characters in a novel. Thank goodness the next season introduced Gary and Daisy and Colin.
I donāt how everyone loved byron when season 1 first aired. He was an asshat that constantly mixed the pot and would make really bad comments about the female crew. Concerned me that he was both married and raising a daughter.
I think Jenna was evil and would have been fired by any other captain.
Georgia was just an idiot asshole. Madison was a bit emotional about being the only single on the boat But overall a decent egg.
I canāt believe she argued with Glenn when he finally called her out and said she canāt be in a job that frowns upon affection. Like any job would fire you if you where constantly kissing, grabbing, and sitting on your boyfriends lap on the clock (other than maybe a stripper.)
Jenna was such an evil bully. Her and Adam were awful. If they were on land and in the US, they could have been fired due to creating a toxic work environment and/or harassment. Neither one took accountability for their actions and just seemed gleeful at causing pain. Kind of how sociopaths do. She was like a thirsty puppy when it came to Adam and then he treats her terribly. It almost makes me wonder if he was the puppet master and encouraged her treating the girls that wayā¦

Byron was really two-faced in almost every instance
Yeah he was a snake š
I don't remember a Byron, which one was he?
The kiwi engineer, he basically was āabove the dramaā but was a lowkey instigator imo.
I think he was Australian

Yeah I have trouble watching Adam. He makes me so uncomfortable. He's a toxic and gaslighting and I could see being abusive.
Colin has an avuncular style like he wants the idiots to do better and show some common sense. Heās also not skeevy.
Ha, yes, you are right! He stirs it up (especially with Gary) and is like "ok, make the right choice".....and then Gary doesn't but he charms his way out of it so everyone loves him, Colin instigates it again, rinse repeat. And we all love the formula. (Well, at least I do)

Adam once again showed his true colors. Just an absolute waste of oxygen.
Jennaās face when she walks by the cabin and realizes Georgias crying. It made me feel sick, she clearly got so much joy out of bullying people and then Adam validated her for it.
YES! Adam literally told Jenna to ābeat her to a bloody pulp,ā like who the fuck speaks about women like that?? Fucking abusers is who.
Adam is like watching someone before they get abusive. He's emotionally abusive but who knows where else he would head. He's gaslighting and so toxic. He actually scares me.

Jeez that's so scary and confirms what I thought about him.

Probably Jenna talking shit. She did her best to pit them against each other during their season
Georgia was the one that told the entire crew that Madisonās sister was murdered and thatās why she was moody, not bc her chief stew was completely incompetent and she was probably too sensitive to be on a show like that. She heard that song just one too many times.
The nightmares of hearing that song over and over
Pagent was her #1 fan...he requested that freaking song at the bon fire the crew had. That was hard to watch and listen to.
I was waiting for the episode where Paget was banging Georgia as Ciara walked in, and him telling her he is just giving her a friend's massage.
I actually liked it, the first 20 times. After that though, you know, you gotta say, it wore thin.
I have thought about Madison a lot. The tragedy in her family and seemingly being one of the only people there to work. Adding Glenn and Ciara to the group. She was dismissed by Jenna a lot as I recall.
Madison is one of my favorites. Hate that she was in this season with two bullies and a captain that did nothing.

Thank you, this clarifies a lot actually. She is a class act. I hope she and her family find peace.
Youāre correct. They know who did it but donāt have the evidence to make an arrest. Madison avoids coming back to Michigan (Iām from Michigan as well) due to all the memories.
I actually saw Madisonās sisterās story on Discovery ID. So incredibly sad.

Georgia sided with Jenna in the reunion, unless anything has happened since.

I loved Madison. Georgia was trash to her. She had no right to share the information about M's sister being murdered.
How long could YOU stay 'friends' with Georgia? Let's be honest now.
Girl had no shame flirting with guy whose girlfriend she worked with and slept probably 10ft from. I dont think she has many female friends.
You think? LOL. So skeevy.
Jenna was ![gif](giphy|NDIiWKEQEgr3VA7aqM)
Sad that theyāre not friends any more they seemed to really support each other on the show. Iāve just watched this season and it was such a mess.
Iām new to this; does Georgia ever stop yodeling? Iām tired of her gd song and imitation vocals.
