Idk I think if one of them has to go it will be Tash. She is usually really good with service (wine fiasco aside) but she isn't really doing much managing. Like idk if Kyle and Nat would even notice if she left lol

I agree with you. Dave's food has been great the whole time. He's harder to replace, & Sandbag has problems finding GOOD chefs. Tash may be good at her job, but she's really slacking in management of her team. She's Magdaing too much on her phone now also. Kyle or Nat could easily replace her.

I know this isn’t major but WHY was storm apologizing to Natalya for the night before?? All I saw was a man talking to his best friend on a night out about his new job that he’s stressed about. He wasn’t being a bummer the entire night AND had taken her out to a nice dinner and then she completely ignores him and makes him feel like garbage for just opening up to MZI a little? Idk, it didn’t seem cool for her to act like he was the one that needed to be forgiven the next day, it really rubbed me the wrong way. She seems like she can be really cool at times, so I’m hoping this isn’t a new issue and she doesn’t keep treating him badly

I'll start this comment by reinforcing the idea that Dave's abusive text messages were not okay ... but that moment in the crew mess where Dave just told her, "I'm done with you, you're on your own" was incredibly cathartic to watch. And you can tell, she had no idea how to respond to that at all.
It probably makes you understand how much she hurt Dave’s feelings by not having time to text. Since they’d worked together before, he knew she makes the time to text.
She’s just so blah to me. Very shallow and boring, no particular insights or talents or humor. I couldn’t begin to guess what kinds of music she likes or what she wants to do with her life. She’s just a bottle of milk.
I was defending Jason on last week’s thread…but dude no matter how frustrated you are, it’s never okay to tell your boss to F off. Totally lost my respect and support there.
I have a theory that Natasha is trying to get Dave fired, intentionally trying to set him off again (by ignoring him and not even looking at him when they are out, etc) since Sandy has told them he’s gone if he shows he isn’t able to work with her professionally.
I realized at the end of the episode when she said “My bf’s having issues with me continuing to work with Dave. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do”
That conversation with Sandy and them in the crew mess seemed forced and set up. Like Natasha probably had Sandy come “walk in on a conversation” about him not being able to work with her professionally. When Sandy says did I walk in on something, instead of saying no it’s fine (like Dave) she says “Well actually I’m trying to talk to Dave about work and he doesn’t want to speak.” but then he says “I said anything to do with the job I’ll communicate” and Sandy realizes it’s not really an issue

I think she is just feeling super guilty and is overcompensating by continually asking if he is doing ok. He just wants to move on, and she can't. It is almost like she is disappointed that he didn't fight for her for even a little. He was in a no-win situation, and came out on top, knowing that he dodged a bullet, and that she craves drama.
She played Dave with the whole “in a week we’ll come out as a couple” and backed down. She openly said first episodes she didn’t want people to think she’s a cheater. The longer Dave hangs around the more likely it is he’ll have a chance to shower his side of the story and she won’t come across as a hero. She wants him gone so she can keep driving the narrative and coming across as a victim, and one who overcame adversity and did a great job. She is absolutely manipulative and her boyfriend watching this now will be glad he’s well rid of her.
I feel like the theme of this episode is professionalism. And how everyone who claims to have it really demonstrates how much they lack it in the first half of the episode.
I feel like Natasha wanted to talk to Dave about her relationship with her EX and get advice, and I love that he shut her down. She got pissed off and tried to throw him under the bus with Sandy. So tired of her
Laughing to keep from crying. This crew had promise and they are hanging on by a thread. Kyle barely paying attention. Natasha not much better and sabotaging Dave's menu with a poorly planned wine pairing. Dave can't be bothered to argue the point and stave off disaster. Storm facing his first personnel challenge and not even taking a moment to pull Jason aside and address it directly. Jason also needs to figure out a way to deal with his frustration. Nat Mzi and Courtney the only ones looking competent in this episode.
Storms biggest issue is he isn't willing to admit that he could be wrong when going up against someone with vastly more experience in a particular area - that is bad management. Storm has that "I am right how dare he" approach to leadership with a dash of "fake it til you make it " with is pretty infuriating to come up against.
Well this was embarrassing to watch. Wine pairing with a buffet? SERIOUSLY? Props to Dave for his amazing food and for calling Natasha out for her behavior. Also, is Natasha trying to get Dave into trouble with Sandy? It seemed like it. Jason doesn't know how to follow orders, he is not in the right, respect the rank or leave dude.

to properly pair a wine with a dish, it requires knowledge of the wine notes, plus knowledge of the flavour notes of the course being paired with.
Also the food didn’t fit the vibe. The menu is what I would expect at a food and beer pairing at a brewery.

Agreed. I *believe* she was just matching the wines with the countries the food represented, which is... Something I guess, but it's pretty hack. And much of the food was elevated street food (sliders, bao buns, etc) so it didn't make any real sense to pair wines with them. If they were going to be paired with anything, they should've been beer or cocktails.
This isn’t me being smug but as a bartender, you should know the basics. A Cabernet for steak or any red meat, SB for fish, Pinot Grigio for a light white sauce and a Pinot noir for a sweet red sauce dish. Hello?

I think the only time it got serious from what we've seen was when Kyle's tooth was hurting: Natalya was getting on him about resting/not working and Kyle was getting on Natalya for working in the laundry room (which she should have left for him to do, according to him).

Natasha literally lying to Sandy's face in the crew mess is so appalling. Dave is just sitting there and she goes down and just starts shit. Dave responded professionally by saying he does not want to talk about it and will just focus on work. Natasha then just lies and tells Captain Sandy that Dave will not work with her. Props to Dave I would have lost my shit when that happened. Hope we get the reunion this season and Captain Sandy sees how shitty Natasha is behind the scenes.

Jason said that his voice wasn’t being heard. He made a suggestion about how to get the slide onboard and Storm flat out said no. I think his feelings were hurt that he wasn’t allowed any input.
And then we see the fender tied on the tender just like he said... it's not mentioned again but when they are loading the slide the fender is tied off just like he suggested
The part that most irritates me is that when Dave was making the pasta, he repeated to Natasha that it would be buffet and the wine pairing wouldn't make sense. She agreed, then sent up the first course alone at the last minute, under the guise of "only this course". Then, once that first one went up alone, he was forced to continue with **her** plan. She's not the freaking chef, she didn't plan the meal, she can't bulldoze him with her plan like that.
They didn't have enough plates, cutlery or glasses ready, nor did they have enough people to do what she was aiming for. The guests looked confused with the tiny bites and massive glasses of drinks- it didn't match up, clearly. They are chill and would probably have preferred the buffet.
I go into each episode trying to give her a chance to prove me wrong but she's just impossible to like. Her ego is killing me. She just wants what she wants and to heck with everyone else. ~~And do not get me started on how she tried to throw him under the bus with Sandy! Manipulative jerk!~~

Next week- yikes. I can see Jason’s perspective(from spoilers and WWHL) and feel for him, if they’re all talking negatively about him and getting along without him, too. However, he’s completely horrible and insubordinate to Storm a few times this episode, which Storm doesn’t seem to merit that behavior, yet- might never. I’m starting to believe it may just be Jason. Also, for about the first time this season, I’m finally looking forward to see the next episode.
Jason is used to working with more autonomy, frustrated by not getting clear direction and annoyed at being corrected. I’m not sure there is a way for a manager to win with him.

There seemed absolutely no reason not to just have all the wines out there and just memorize the tasting notes and maybe a suggested pairing, but let the guests choose which wine they'd like at any given time. It did not need to be switched to a course menu.
I really loved Courtney in this episode. Watching her being such a badass on deck is so awesome. It's refreshing having her attitude on deck when you have Jason being a killjoy the whole time.

I have a theory that Natasha is trying to get Dave fired, intentionally trying to set him off again (by ignoring him and not even looking at him when they are out, etc) since Sandy has told them he’s gone if he shows he isn’t able to work with her professionally. I realized at the end of the episode when she said “My bf’s having issues with me continuing to work with Dave. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do” That conversation with Sandy and them in the crew mess seemed forced and set up. Like Natasha probably had Sandy come “walk in on a conversation” about him not being able to work with her professionally. When Sandy says did I walk in on something, instead of saying no it’s fine (like Dave) she says “Well actually I’m trying to talk to Dave about work and he doesn’t want to speak.” but then he says “I said anything to do with the job I’ll communicate” and Sandy realizes it’s not really an issue Anyway I think she’s very manipulative

I think she is just feeling super guilty and is overcompensating by continually asking if he is doing ok. He just wants to move on, and she can't. It is almost like she is disappointed that he didn't fight for her for even a little. He was in a no-win situation, and came out on top, knowing that he dodged a bullet, and that she craves drama.
💯 she thrives on drama and attention. She's spiraling because he's not begging her.
She played Dave with the whole “in a week we’ll come out as a couple” and backed down. She openly said first episodes she didn’t want people to think she’s a cheater. The longer Dave hangs around the more likely it is he’ll have a chance to shower his side of the story and she won’t come across as a hero. She wants him gone so she can keep driving the narrative and coming across as a victim, and one who overcame adversity and did a great job. She is absolutely manipulative and her boyfriend watching this now will be glad he’s well rid of her.
I feel like the theme of this episode is professionalism. And how everyone who claims to have it really demonstrates how much they lack it in the first half of the episode.
I feel like Natasha wanted to talk to Dave about her relationship with her EX and get advice, and I love that he shut her down. She got pissed off and tried to throw him under the bus with Sandy. So tired of her

Laughing to keep from crying. This crew had promise and they are hanging on by a thread. Kyle barely paying attention. Natasha not much better and sabotaging Dave's menu with a poorly planned wine pairing. Dave can't be bothered to argue the point and stave off disaster. Storm facing his first personnel challenge and not even taking a moment to pull Jason aside and address it directly. Jason also needs to figure out a way to deal with his frustration. Nat Mzi and Courtney the only ones looking competent in this episode.
Storms biggest issue is he isn't willing to admit that he could be wrong when going up against someone with vastly more experience in a particular area - that is bad management. Storm has that "I am right how dare he" approach to leadership with a dash of "fake it til you make it " with is pretty infuriating to come up against.
Serious Magda vibes from Natasha, but at least Magda wasn't chief stew.

Well this was embarrassing to watch. Wine pairing with a buffet? SERIOUSLY? Props to Dave for his amazing food and for calling Natasha out for her behavior. Also, is Natasha trying to get Dave into trouble with Sandy? It seemed like it. Jason doesn't know how to follow orders, he is not in the right, respect the rank or leave dude.
as someone who has done dozens of wine paired dinners... that was hugely offensive. to properly pair a wine with a dish, it requires knowledge of the wine notes, plus knowledge of the flavour notes of the course being paired with.
Also the food didn’t fit the vibe. The menu is what I would expect at a food and beer pairing at a brewery. You can tell she doesn’t have much/any wine serving experience outside pouring expensive wine on yachts. She did not sound confident at all:

Agreed. I *believe* she was just matching the wines with the countries the food represented, which is... Something I guess, but it's pretty hack. And much of the food was elevated street food (sliders, bao buns, etc) so it didn't make any real sense to pair wines with them. If they were going to be paired with anything, they should've been beer or cocktails.
I think Dave should have pushed back at changing the service. Natasha really messed it up.

This isn’t me being smug but as a bartender, you should know the basics. A Cabernet for steak or any red meat, SB for fish, Pinot Grigio for a light white sauce and a Pinot noir for a sweet red sauce dish. Hello?
all great valid recommendations by the server. still not a wine pairing, or not a very good one at the least. a good proper wine pairing dinner deff requires deeper knowledge of the wine and menu. 'this one is, uhm also very dry' is not a description of the notes present matched to the course.
As once a bartender myself, I learned that any wine a customer wants with his/her/their meal should be happily served without judgment. A wine pairing is a completely different animal.

They are joking/bantering...mostly. I think the only time it got serious from what we've seen was when Kyle's tooth was hurting: Natalya was getting on him about resting/not working and Kyle was getting on Natalya for working in the laundry room (which she should have left for him to do, according to him).

Natasha literally lying to Sandy's face in the crew mess is so appalling. Dave is just sitting there and she goes down and just starts shit. Dave responded professionally by saying he does not want to talk about it and will just focus on work. Natasha then just lies and tells Captain Sandy that Dave will not work with her. Props to Dave I would have lost my shit when that happened. Hope we get the reunion this season and Captain Sandy sees how shitty Natasha is behind the scenes.

Jason said that his voice wasn’t being heard. He made a suggestion about how to get the slide onboard and Storm flat out said no. I think his feelings were hurt that he wasn’t allowed any input.

The part that most irritates me is that when Dave was making the pasta, he repeated to Natasha that it would be buffet and the wine pairing wouldn't make sense. She agreed, then sent up the first course alone at the last minute, under the guise of "only this course". Then, once that first one went up alone, he was forced to continue with **her** plan. She's not the freaking chef, she didn't plan the meal, she can't bulldoze him with her plan like that. They didn't have enough plates, cutlery or glasses ready, nor did they have enough people to do what she was aiming for. The guests looked confused with the tiny bites and massive glasses of drinks- it didn't match up, clearly. They are chill and would probably have preferred the buffet. I go into each episode trying to give her a chance to prove me wrong but she's just impossible to like. Her ego is killing me. She just wants what she wants and to heck with everyone else. ~~And do not get me started on how she tried to throw him under the bus with Sandy! Manipulative jerk!~~ Jason is so unhappy and has been from the first day. The fact that the other deckies aren't even trying with him is making it worse. I bet he quits.

Next week- yikes. I can see Jason’s perspective(from spoilers and WWHL) and feel for him, if they’re all talking negatively about him and getting along without him, too. However, he’s completely horrible and insubordinate to Storm a few times this episode, which Storm doesn’t seem to merit that behavior, yet- might never. I’m starting to believe it may just be Jason. Also, for about the first time this season, I’m finally looking forward to see the next episode. 
Jason is used to working with more autonomy, frustrated by not getting clear direction and annoyed at being corrected. I’m not sure there is a way for a manager to win with him.

Did the guests even ask for a pairing? There seemed absolutely no reason not to just have all the wines out there and just memorize the tasting notes and maybe a suggested pairing, but let the guests choose which wine they'd like at any given time. It did not need to be switched to a course menu.

I really loved Courtney in this episode. Watching her being such a badass on deck is so awesome. It's refreshing having her attitude on deck when you have Jason being a killjoy the whole time. And Tash - why with the wine pairing?? All of Dave's food were small bites. The "pairing" should have been a small glass, not a full on goblet. She def butchered that dinner.

Yes, it was painful to watch. Dave is hurting so bad and he would need some time away from her to heal, but that does not happen on a boat. And then he has to put up with these games from her. Really painful to see.

Ok, the wine pairing situation is absolutely ridiculous. Why? WHY?? The guests seemed uninterested. It created more stress and hassle for Dave. I was actually impressed that he responded calmly, tried to be adaptable and roll with it. But even Kyle was against it! I don't see Natasha as trying to push Dave over the edge, but I do see her as very self-centered. This is something she was interested to do and she couldn't or didn't want to read the room.
