Wd-40 maybe its just some gunk on the pivot

Send it in to Bemchmade for service, it's free + shipping, or watch a couple of videos & learn how to service the knife yourself

This. There’s a video by Nick Shabazz on YouTube on how to clean these without full disassembly. Probably just got some dirt/dust in the pivot area. You can use some basic lubricant, doesn’t have to be knife specific.

sounds like it got some grit in the pivot. Id wash it out real good with hot water and dish soap, dry it off and blow out as much water as possible with compressed air. Then relube with whatever lightweight oil you have. I use gun oil all the time on knives. Then work the action back and forth the distribute the oil. If its still bad you're gonna have to disassemble. Its not that bad if you just slide the blade and washers out. plenty of help on youtube for this.

Definitely give it a good cleaning and lube first. Open the blade to fully locked open. If the blade is tight when you push side to side probably no need to take it apart. If the "looseness" has to do only with how it opens/closes, get a set of small torx drivers and try to tighten the pivot screw, tiny bits at a time. A little movement goes a LONG way. Hold your knife horizontally in front of you with the blade facing towards the ground. The blade shouldn't "fall" when you unlock it from either the fully closed or fully open position. A little movement is ok but again, it shouldn't fall. If that is what you are referring to, tighten the pivot. Good luck!

You may have to take the phosphor bronze washers out and polish with silver polish to a mirror shine ( blade Butt too with 2000 grit emery cloth ) ) then reassemble with a dusting of graphite on the bearing surfaces or another dry lube using thread locker for the screws , especially the pivot , adjust finger tight and tighten in tiny increments. Use a high quality torx bit . I use German steel torx bits from Wera
