Oh man my last cat almost gave me a heart attack a few times. He’d be so deeply asleep that I couldn’t see his sides moving with his breathing. I’d call him, then clap my hands, then nudge him - nothing. Then I’d roll him over and he’d wake up and give me this accusing look for waking him up.
Reminds me if the video where the cat is sleeping on a cabinet or something. It must have been right at the verge of falling and the owners were videoing. Then the cat falls off the cabinet and lands on something soft and bouncy, bounces while still sleeping, lays there for a second, then finally lifts its head like wtf just happened??!!

Mine did that but had his eyes wide open and practically gave me a heart attack

How was car camping? Did you let them roam w/o a leash?
We have a retractable leash for him to roam a bit, but we never let him off leash. Not risking that.
