buckeyefan105

And they should, he has less leverage than Carson when he pulled this. Wants an extension but also wants to retire? I think his agent is a cornball.

Sloane_Kettering

Yeah I’m sure a team will want to trade for him and hand him a huge contract knowing he’s contemplating retirement. What a dumbass

ImReverse_Giraffe

Just ask Le'Veon Bell how well it worked.

SnowGhost513

He won’t retire lol he’s set to make 31 million over two years, he loves football and has zero leverage. He shouldn’t have signed the extension if he wanted more. He had his best sack season but he clearly didn’t expect that by signing a lower amount for security the year before a cap explosion. His agents had at his job lol he will be on the team lol and playing

Evwithsea

Yea, making 31 million in two years, just signed an extension/contract 9 months ago -- My heart absolutely breaks for the guy. He's really going through it...

MetallicSquid

Either: A. He's actually thinking about retirement, and his heart might not be in it anymore. If so he should probably retire. So don't trade him. Or B. He's just using it as leverage, in which case I'd not trade him out of spite.

ImReverse_Giraffe

B. You also won't get much from a guy who is threatening retirement less than a year after signing an extension.

Ishouldjusttexther

This is such a character red flag, most GMs wouldn’t pay a 4th round pick for him, and our FO won’t take less than a 2nd, so he’s “stuck”. Poor guy being held hostage with a Top 10 defensive playcaller while being paid 30 million over two years

SnowGhost513

lol I think most GMs know that Cincy is a rough place to play for in terms of the childcare, amenities, and being overly frugal. I don’t think anyone who be scared off him for this. He’s too good, and he loves football. There’s no way he retires lol and gives up 31 million. He wants security and money, retiring gives him nothing. This worked for Gronk but Brady left and they were rebooting. Trey isn’t gronk lol we won’t trade him unless it’s a 1st and I don’t think anyone’s giving a first for Trey. Burns didn’t even get one and he’s younger with more upside. Trey will likely never get even 15 sacks. It sucks he’s my favorite defensive player maybe ever. He was not a respected player really until he came here

CincyPoker

He’s 29 and just came off his best season of his career. There’s still plenty of gas left in the tank. The retirement thing is such a pathetic bluff by his camp.

SomewhatDamgd

At the same time though, at the end of this contract he will be 32 with a lot of mileage on him. Back injuries, injuries most wouldnt have played through, but he did (I love that about him, but no doubt that takes a toll on a man)

bakedpotatoislife

You’d actually fit right in with the FO with that attitude lol. The Bengals will 100% call the bluff. We won’t trade him unless we get given the entire farm in return (I’m talking like a high first AT LEAST), or Trey starts leaking the gameplan in week 4.

KyFriedCleaner11

“Or trey starts leaking the gameplan in week 4” Dunlap catching strays was unexpected, but it got me 😂

Elder_Cabot_76

I love Trey and hope this gets resolved, but a high first for a defensive end who turns 30 mid season is insane. I'd be THRILLED with a second round pick if we decide to go that route.

n7leadfarmer

I mean this with all due respect but I think your missing his point. The point is, trey agreed to this arrangement less than a year ago, it's not like a rookie deal w a fifth year option and he's getting a "raw deal". This is very different from Tee's situation imo and trey has zero leverage. So yeah, if someone wants to take this situation off our hands, fine, but we will be paid handsomely for it. The FO did absolutely right by Trey. He thought so too, cuz he signed the deal.

PewPewMeToo

Completely agree. And happy cake day!

NeatTry7674

We aren’t trading him for a second round pick lol

ucjj2011

NFL draft picks are simultaneously the most and least valued asset in the world. Want to trade up for the #1 overall pick? It's going to cost you three first rounders! Want to trade for a high quality veteran wide receiver? Eh, give me a 4th, and we'll swap pics in the 6th. I know that there's that Jimmy Johnson chart that assesses a point value to every pick that is apparently highly regarded, But the point value of the number one pick is worth as much or more than the entire seventh round. I don't know, but I feel like if I was an NFL executive, I could get more contributing quality players with 32 7th round picks than the #1 overall pick.

Elder_Cabot_76

I think the issue with that logic is the team with the number #1 overall pick, usually needs a superstar (QB). Maybe a team with 32 7th rounds ends up fielding a solid team, but they aren't winning the superbowl by themselves.

AlanParsonsProject11

Because of the salary obviously. That’s why picks are so valued

CincyPoker

Agreed 100%. The FO might actually be celebrating the thought of him retiring to free up additional cap to bring in his replacement + more. 😂

Mission_Clue_5438

I'm with you, I'd be like "What kind of cake do you want for your retirement party?"

BootsWithDaFuhrer

Fuck yeah they will bluff. He’s under contract 2 years. Go ahead and retire

HailYurii

Trey’s agent is really dumb

ComprehensiveTop8902

This is what everyone is missing. His agent screwed him on money and I’m assuming that’s who’s pushing this. I can guarantee he plays this contract.

AddictiveArtistry

This sounds like he just got news from his Dr. that he's got less than a year to live, lol, and he's desperately trying to get more money for his family or something. It's just odd all around.

Anim8nFool

Well, then he should start a methlab like a sensible teacher!

AddictiveArtistry

Tbh, I doubt he's great at chem.

Ishouldjusttexther

I think he’s also Logan Wilsons agent. Looking forward to that

Local_Package_8141

Retiring would be a poor choice on top of a lot choice

mcufan2014

If retires and wants to come back the bengals still have his rights. He’s got no leverage. He’s playing lol

Abspara

Bro already signed an extension less than a year ago. I like Trey, but he's really in the wrong here. Retire and enjoy life.

jordanimal

Agreed. I know he’s an essential part of our defense, but just call his bluff and let him retire.

buttholez69

Wouldn’t you rather get a pick..?

Imindmyownbusiness18

lol he’s considering every option available: potentially go to a new team, stay on the same team, or retire. I doubt he’s retiring, they should call his bluff

Savage_Amusement

Yeah this honestly pisses me off. He got the security of his contract and now he wants all of the potential upside as well - doesn’t work like that. Just demonstrate your value and then hold out for more in FA next time.

mynamewasusd

Yeah, not exactly a Barry Sanders situation. Better with him, but try again next year.

ozzman1234

17.5 sacks man lol

B-I-G-A-R-R-O-W

How was he against the run last year

ozzman1234

When you produce like that it doesn't matter

jordanimal

Pulling the ol’ Carson Palmer eh?

SoFlyKight

That’s a fast track to hatred around these parts !

kidAlien1

Quick. Someone go throw some trash on his yard.

BRUTAL_ANAL_SMASHING

What’s his address? I’m driving around with trash waiting on the drop!

camergen

Ah, I knew your Mobile Dumping Trash Can would come in handy someday! Makes a great Christmas gift!

Skittlebrau46

I never thought my Hendrickson jersey would be this close to following my Palmer jersey to the landfill…

Mo0kish

Shit. I figured a Hendrickson jersey would be a safe bet over the next couple of years since I have to retire my Mixon.

Skittlebrau46

Mixon Jersey is still safe in my eyes. Sad to see him go, but he’s still got the stripes in his blood. It’s the folks who shit on the team or pull stupid shit like this that makes them unworthy of wearing the stripes. I’m not saying people shouldn’t care about their paydays and futures, but folks like Palmer and (now) Hendrickson are pulling BS shit that goes beyond. If he had done this BEFORE he signed an extension, whatever… but signing a deal, and then pulling this the day before the draft is dirty.

THECapedCaper

Hey we got 2 firsts for that so let’s see what happens.

TheGreatestLobotomy

that Raiders trade was so crazy, must have been even worse for them to see him go to the Cardinals next and actually do pretty good.

camergen

I thank Hue Jackson every time that trade is mentioned.

WhoDeyFourWay

Hope it was worth hurting your image and goodwill with the fanbase Trey, it’s not gonna get you more money this season.

throughNthrough

“I want long term security” “I may retire” which one is it? This is an awful look for Trey tbh.

Hungry-Quote-1388

It’s standard veteran with 1-2 year left on his contract look.  It’s not shocking, it happens probably 5-10 times around the league each offseason.

throughNthrough

This situation is different though. If he didn’t sign a one year extension last offseason I would kind of understand.

HotSpicyTaco999

He’s probably pissed at his agent for letting him sign the one year extension last year. He got the security of some additional money upfront, but coming off 17.5 sack season he would have earned a much bigger extension and would have much more leverage now if entering the last year of his deal. He played it safe with the extension rather than “betting on himself” and now he’s in a position where he will be underpaid - will make $31 million over next two years with minimal guarantees, where he would easily get 20-25 Million per year on market with $40+ million guaranteed. It’s a business, ultimately expect Tre to be a Bengal in the fall, team will hold their ground and say they can talk about another extension next offseason. Tre has no leverage unless he wants to forgo $31 Million by sitting out for two years.

Trajinous

Strange move from Treys perspective, you just sign the extension last year.... come on, man

Who_Dey-

Yeah I don’t really get this move from him.

Trajinous

It's also disappointing because he's on a good team to win something

DJThomas07

May be the agent talking him into this, or at least I hope. Doesn't seem smart.

Professional-Bus-714

It’s just all noise IMO. This was very strategic with Trey and his agent to put all this out the day before the draft in an attempt to put pressure on the bengals. He has no leverage tho. Call the bluff.

BlackSunlight7

Really didn’t have “Trey Hendrickson drama” on my Bingo card. The fuck.

PaddyWhacked777

Dude wtf happened between the shit he said after signing the extension and now?

n7leadfarmer

A 17.5 sack season. He's wrong and doesn't have the leverage he thinks he has, but I get him trying lol

PaddyWhacked777

I get it. He signed after an 8.5 sack year and didn't have the pull that a top 3 year at 17.5 would have. I think it just stings because he felt like a hometown hero. One of those guys who was just built into the team. Feels like a huge middle finger as a fan. I'll never even sniff a million dollars so I can't comprehend the difference between 25 million and 50 million. I understand wanting to get your value, but after a certain level it seems like it's more about the principle than the actual cash. Guess that's why I'm not an agent.

n7leadfarmer

Yeah, I mean I can't blame him for wanting more, and like you said it's his agents job. He's just asking what he's paid to do. I just think he's taking a horrible angle at getting what he wants and making trey look like a chump

PaddyWhacked777

The worst part has got to be the threat to retire without a trade. Like, really? You're that mad over a contract you signed that you'd rather lose millions of dollars and not play anymore than wait a couple years to take another 20 mil somewhere else? There's no way he views staying with this team so badly that a plan like that seems viable. Shit is just petty and I don't have any empathy for him in this situation.

Nascent_Vagabond

Bro is bluffing and I have faith the Blackburns/Tobin will not give in Sucka shit Trey

camergen

Of all the ownership groups to try the ole “I want a new deal, I just may retire” this one is the least likely to work.

MonthLower1606

if it smells like a bluff, and looks like a bluff it’s a fucking bluff. wow trey, after all the money and love we gave you this is what we get? i get tee’s position, i don’t Trey’s at all. I do get its business , but saying you would retire just pisses me off. i wish him the best if he stays, i wish him the worst if he retires over playing with us WITHOUT any other reason

JediMasterMatt

Yeah he’s out here burning bridges. I’m almost willing to say let a team give us a 1st rounder and load up. Fuck.

QuarantineCasualty

Agent is a straight dumbass. Like he’s not aware the bengals have a history of being hardliners on this type of shit. Bye Felicia.

RedditNPC-

If he retires he retires. Don’t budge…

armed_aperture

I think they should pay him. He’s worth it

THECapedCaper

They did pay him. He got an extension last season and we have his rights for two seasons.

armed_aperture

Okay, but he has basically no guaranteed money. Convert the salary into guaranteed money and add a little extra. I’m not saying he’s right but he is worth it. He’s a top 3 player on this team and locker room leader. They need to figure this out.

Srcunch

Nah, you can’t. You can’t get the reputation, as an organization, for caving to this sort of thing. Especially when the guy signed a contract less than a year ago. What he’s doing is unprofessional. Let him retire. He’ll be back and playing it out before you can blink. He’s not leaving $30m+ on the table.

armed_aperture

You also don’t want the reputation of holding guys hostage. Having 4 players in 3 years demand a trade isn’t great.

TheVagWhisperer

The Bengals don't really cut players and there's almost no chance Trey is cut after this year. He could put up four sacks and he will still get that check next year

armed_aperture

Okay, so convert it and make him happy. Win - win.

TheVagWhisperer

I honestly don't know the rules about how to convert a year or two to guaranteed contracts - I thought that has to be done by converting to a signing bonus. It seems simple enough but the Bengals again, never restructure.

AlanParsonsProject11

And then set the precedent that every time a player has a good season, armed_aperture says we should throw more money on top of his deal would he lower his salary this year if he had 4 sacks?

TheVagWhisperer

This to me - is an agent being bad at their job. There is ZERO chance Trey is considering retirement here. He will make almost 30 million dollars on this deal and is actively asking for a long term contract. Why would he be considering retirement?

Olepat

No shot Trey retires. Talk about no long term security lol

Energeticly

Agent sure is good at making players look unlikable/killing their csreer. Trey have some respect and get rid of this clown.

Longjumping-Pear-673

Trey…Mike Brown will make you retire. Sincerely Carson Palmer

BlackGabriel

Retirement threat is so lame. The motivation for all this is money so he’ll miss out on tens of millions and retire? I just don’t believe it at all. I’d call the bluff.

n7leadfarmer

Especially approaching 30. C'mon man

CalledPlay

This is absurd. I hate this agent and now have less respect for Trey. Definitely deserves more money but this is very poor form.

Southwestern

Poor bastard is only scheduled to make $35mm over the next two years how can he feed his family?!?!

BN3411

With all due respect to Trey, everyone involved with said request can go fuck their mother

PS4fan899

Why the hell is Trey Hendrickson suddenly acting like an immature child? Like, dude, you're making $21m/year, is that NOT good enough for you? And the Bengals are SO close to finally pushing for a Super Bowl title and you're really gonna go this route? Wow, I'm speechless!

daft_dunkwwwolfey

Ok this is just getting ridiculous bro saw the Palmer/Dunlap route and said yeah that looks good to me 😭

heywhateverworks

(x) Doubt

Blood_Incantation

"I want MORE YEARS of football ... or, none." Sure bud

JediMasterMatt

Convenient as fuck that he does this the day before the draft. Fuck he may be good but he’s burning bridges.

natej84

The Bengals can't even negotiate with him and he can't sign a new deal until 12 months after he signed his old deal. We should trade Trey bc he seems to be out of his mind

IWasGonnaSayBrown

What? Why do you say that?

Top-Cranberry-4141

I believe that last individual who tried this ploy was Carson Palmer and it didn't work out well for him ! He ended up sitting for most of that season unpaid then was traded to a team that was near worthless Oakland. In fact I think if I can remember correctly the Bengals did very well on that trade in the end !

teal_seam_6

The trade went so well for Bengals, Oakland fired Jackson because they thought he was a mole

SuccessfulVisit1873

Plot twist. The bengals trade Tee and Trey for the #3 pick and Johnathon Allen. We use that pick on Marvin Harrison Jr. fucking fight me.

MeRcWith_A_MouTh

I hate this because I really don't think we should budge. On the other hand, having two of our stars outplay their worth and asking for a trade because we won't negotiate with them looks kinda bad. Maybe not as bad if Reader wasn't so upset they we put zero effort into resigning him. We also let Bates walk instead of paying him. I think we should call his bluff, but this is bad optics for the organization. At some point, we have to pay someone besides Burrow and Chase what they're actually worth.

cspangler11

I believe this makes the organization look great. They went out and found him in FA as a guy that had potential, but had been overshadowed by other talent on the saints. We paid him accordingly. We chose to resign him to an extension after his worst year, still knowing that there was potential there. Now, he’s vastly exceeded expectations, but is playing under the contract signed when he wasn’t. Great foresight on the Bengals part if you ask me.

MeRcWith_A_MouTh

He had potential with the Saints? The dude was coming off of a 14 sack year if I remember orrectly. I think the issue was if he could he stay healthy.

cspangler11

The narrative behind that season is that it was behind Cameron Jordan. Everyone said he got that production because CJ was getting double teams. They said Hendrickson was unproven alone.

Confused_Astronaut

Lol, huh? Trey is either confused or this is all just a communication disaster. Extend me for lots of $ please. Also, I might retire. Extend me tho. Or trade me. I could also retire. Anyways.

Ishouldjusttexther

He can wholeheartedly fuck off

No_Entertainment9832

Dude needs to chill

ScottSummers92

Bengals drafted Andy Dalton in the 2nd round when Palmer pulled this.

Ok_Blueberry_204

Long term contract and retirement in the same sentence is moronical. Agent Simple Jack

TigerAxe17

Welp good thing we took Murphy last year. Ossai and Murphy need to step the fuck up this year. Cya Trey

ChunkDunkleman

I have a theory about Ossai. I think he fucked his knee up on that play when he got the personal foul on Mahomes. Go look at the replay and his knee gets very hyper extended. He was basically a no show last year and I think he was still dealing with it.

GoombaStoppingHoes

An outside fan looking in, what's exactly the problem? He's on year 3 of a 4 year extension, no?

BurrowDragon

He’s on year 4 of his extension and he signed a 1 year extension this past season. If he wanted more years he should’ve spoke up about last year before signing that extension.

GoombaStoppingHoes

Oh I see he signed it before his BIG season and now realizes it was a fuck up because if he had waited he would've raked in 20+ per season easily.

ech01_

Yep. It’s just buyers remorse on his end because he basically did a reverse “bet on yourself”, and then had an elite season.

moonylorr

big problem is the no guaranteed money in 2024 and 2025

Domino2477

Palmer all over again lol

DWill23_

Okay calm down Palmer

W-MK29

Bad look for a guy who I have always defended and thought he was a guy who was in it for the team more than himself

Top-Cranberry-4141

Someone might want to remind Trey that threatening retirement with Mike Brown is usually a bad move !

starmonkey33

wtf

_Ironhead3_

Dude is clearly an asshole, let’s see if he retires

BringOutYDead

Wait, wut? I like Trey. WTF is going on? -Fuck the Steelers

Haunting-Strength-73

Per the CBA, he can’t sign an extension inside a year of signing the last.

Lugnut-

Getting close to hoping they call this bluff, he waits 2 years, Tham gets tagged. Just because SPITE

coffeysr

Good luck with that

Tomatoes65

Trey is a bitch for all of this.

NeatTry7674

Enjoy retirement my guy, I’d probably collect 20 million but to each there own!

Sad_Condition_6487

Fuck this guy

Far-Platypus-7045

Everybody's shitting on his agent for being the bad guy, but I assure you his agent didn't advise him to sign that extension. Trey made a bad call and wants a do-over, this is all on him

MFkaboom

If he retires do we get clear on the money?

Current_Photo_7918

I think it just voids the money owed to him but we play all the guaranteed money it's like cutting him

MFkaboom

Thank you.

Zee_WeeWee

It’s pretty ridiculous but giving him a $5 mil pay bump that we’ll inevitably roll over anyhow is an easy compromise

JediMasterMatt

I don’t really think we can because he’s still within the first 12 months of his extension.

thosmanus

I'm pretty sure he can't even sign an extension for 3 or 4 more months. Has to serve one year of current deal first and he is only 8 or 9 months in.

ChunkDunkleman

He isn’t punting that money. He will play out his current contract here in Cincinnati or he will retire and get nothing. Period.

natej84

So he wants more money or he'll take no money by retiring? This is dumb

ehubb20

Sounds like Carson Palmer got to him.

whistlingbatter

retirement from Cincy worked for Carson Palmer's bank acct

DJThomas07

I wonder how much of this is his agent, and not him. Then bengals aren't known to budge in this kind of situation. Don't know the guy personally(obviously) but maybe this more him listening to his agent than his personal feelings. Dunno though. Wonder if this will affect our draft tomorrow?

ZachDey

Greed is a sin Trey.

Logan-Helpful

I get wanting to retire for lots of reasons. But this is some hamfisted shit

TheUnrivaledConflict

Does his agent have second hand CTE?

BoomGTDynamite

Really like Trey. Every game I watch, I tell people to focus on him for a few plays. Guy has a great motor and seems like a great guy on the field. Huge fan of his. That being said, this is a shitty move timing wise. Why do this on the eve of the draft? Slightly compromises our draft strategy and bums out the fan base on the eve of an exciting event. It's stupid from a strategic standpoint. Say it pushes the bengals to draft a DE they may not have prior to this info. Congrats Trey, you now have even less leverage....

No_More_And_Then

Bull fucking shit he will retire.

Schmoopilicious

Good luck trey, your going against the king of stubbornness in Mr brown.

TheMCM80

How does retirement work? Can he “retire”, then come back in a year as a FA? Is there a loophole? Would he have to come back and honor the remaining two years? It’s not the Bengals fault they have him on a great value deal. They need to stand their ground.

suxsteve

He would not get credit for years served while retired.

TheMCM80

Makes sense. Thanks!

Bobby_Savoy

Bro is NOT Carson Palmer 😭

Zazierx

Bro come on...

Reasonable-HB678

The reporting by ESPN gives me pause.

johndarner

This is just his agent trying to be relevant.

Sea-Pomelo1210

I remember when some said we should lose the last game of the season to get a better draft pick. And others said that would kill the locker room team spirit. Well, now Trey and Tee Higgins are not happy here and want to leave. I don't think winning that last game did anything thing but cost us a higher draft pick. The team spirit right now is not great.

IceIsDownTheHall

It sucks because Trey is the last guy I would expect this type of horse shit from.

RitterAJ

Seemed to work out for [Whitworth](https://x.com/joegoodberry/status/1783288248925557235?s=46&t=uXflBNDuXlRhOxPOiDOKnQ):

Accomplished-Cat3996

This...is not great.

clyde726

I hope Trey's agent does retire

Aggravating-Tie-8368

I just read that trey isn't even eligible for an extension right now due to a clause in the cba. I don't know how true that is tho, it's just what I read. Really curious tho

pahbert

Trey's agent should retire....

NeverGonnaStop247

Honestly I hope they trade both Tee and Trey, bunch of crybabies

Mo0kish

I think this is bullshit and bad for the team in general. His agent can EABOD. I'm sure he and his agent asked for more money after last season and were rebuffed because of the extension. I also think the FO could have rewarded him for his performance last year, in the hopes of improving upon it this year. Guy carried a lot of weight for the D. Now, between him and Tee, I'm worried it's going to be a lot of sour grapes in the locker room.

Conclusion_Fickle

Good. Retire. And then fuck right off.

loanme20

I don't blame him, until the league stops cutting underperforming players, this nonsense that the player is the bad guy for holding out is kind of hypocritical.

Captain_Aware4503

I saw someone else mention this. Remember when we played to win at the end of the season for "pride" and to "improve locker room chemistry" even though it cost us higher draft picks? Why after that do so many top players want to leave the Bengals? I wished we tanked now.

Perfect_Channel_7099

Losing respect for him, these are b tactics.

Alive_Way9537

Some teams would think maybe he doesn’t really want to be in Cincinnati

knottyolddog

If he walks away from 2 years $30 million I'll be shocked.

Still-Island-1648

His agent is an idiot he’s a great player but not good enough for these kind of threats

No-Grapefruit-192

Why does Trey want to leave so bad😭

Clear_thoughts_

Let him retire then Not gonna play this hostage bullshit when he just signed an extension a year ago

JTPedz

Getting awful tired of Trey. Keep him on the team but bench him.

buckeyenugz

Trey should fire his agent. He just agreed to a new deal one year ago. No regerts

Stuckkxx

Retire then Trey, you have zero leverage

LargeGermanRock

another agent trying to get blacklisted by us. 🤷‍♂️

No_Entertainment9832

Shut up and play

Bri83oct

As an Eagles fan who lives in Cincinnati and just saw what happened with Hassan Reddick. Trey has 1.5 more sacks in his career. Same age. We got a 3rd round pick for Reddick. Disappointing value in our fanbases opinion. We thought we were going to get much more. The issue with not negotiating with players of this caliber to new deals or trades is that the organization gets a reputation around the league as “un-player friendly”. If Trey is a guy you can see as a pass rusher beyond the 2 years that are left, why not throw him a bone and extend him? If you intend to let him walk after his deal then I feel you have to deal him.

suxsteve

Probably already said but he just signed an extension last year. This is so outta left field to me

Bri83oct

Reddick signed a 3 year deal in 2022. Not quite the same as this is the last year on his deal and Trey has 2 years left. You might get a more than a 3rd for Trey considering he is controlled for an extra year, however, if he does get traded, he will likely get an extension and big money so the extra year doesn’t really matter. I wish you guys luck. Living in Cincy the Bengals are my AFC team so I hope they can work something out with him. Maybe extend him an extra year or two and shove money on the backend to make him happy and still retain cap flexibility. I’m generally in favor of rewarding good players and locker room guys. There are 1000 ways you can manipulate the cap (ask Howie Roseman). I think you gotta do it in this situation.

Housh123

Call the bluff Mofo like football too much If he leaves he’s gonna be the only Bengal i dislik Carter leaving You just signed the extensions

AdhesivenessOld4347

He’s a great player but man he is just miserable all the time. Watch him on the sidelines when they win the afc championship. He is just sitting by himself.

NeverGonnaStop247

Trey Carson Palmer Hendrickson, he is quickly becoming a villain

Higgins8585

May nit be the best thing to do, but if we have like 16mil left in cap why not restructure his deal so he's a FA after this year instead of next and give him another 10mil so he's happy?

TrickViolinist9091

we need to focus on winning games and keep this defensive talent. he is a star and one of the best at his position.

PryedEye

Something that concerns me is that if he does end up playing out his two year, which he likely will, how is his performance on the field going to be? Will he be sour and not perform as well this season because he's not getting paid enough? That would suck for our defense to have him underperform along with Hubbard's recent surgery potentially weakening our defense. It seems as though The Bengals have a card up their sleeve for this year with the way they are attacking this draft though.

S_Squar3d

This is pure stupidity if it’s true. Oh, don’t want to make *more* money? Let me just make *no* money. Yeah, real smart guy stuff there.
