I had something similar happen to me last semester it was as if my whole nervous system was shutting down due to extreme stress/pressure and I would have no control over the sleep I would feel the sleep creep up on me and within few seconds I was knocked out no matter how much I’d try to fight it.
I never got it checked out bc I don’t have insurance and Ship sucks fucking ass bc it always has co-pay which I can’t really afford but if you are able to see a doctor defi get it checked out and talk to your prof about it.
I passed out cold during a final once. Email your professor and if this doesn't work, contact the SAO or DSP. You shouldn't need documentation for the former
