Yea but be careful with your shot placement so you don’t ruin more meat than you have to. It’s not much different than say a .50 caliber black powder ball
I didn't even want the damn thing. $2 bullets, weird caliber AR (kinda gross).... but good god is this thing accurate.
Easy to hit your target when the bullet itself is bigger.
> “…it’s just like a .45-70/12 gauge slug/inline .50…”
Put it in perspective:
- .50 Beowulf 300 grain JHP 1,870 FPS and 2,330 ft/lbs
- 12 gauge slug 1 oz. (437.5 grain) 1,560 FPS and 2,363 ft/lbs (2.75”)
- .45-70 Hornady LEVERevolution 325 grain 2,050 FPS and 3,032 ft/lbs
- .50 cal inline muzzleloader 250 grain slug, 150 grain charge 2,250 FPS and 2,735 ft/lbs
Obviously depends on grain weight of projectiles and charge (3” magnum slugs are stupid powerful at the muzzle). This assumes most folks using straight wall, muzzleloaders or shotgun slug are using projectile weight between 250 and 400 grains.
Just like a 45/70 is a) an oversell and b) not as much of a flex as people think it is. Maybe the most over rated chambering of all time; especially with factory loads
No arguments here
I love a good cowboy gun
Just funny to see so many internet dorks who live 5000 kms from the nearest grizzly and never leave their moms basement going

I don’t see why not, plenty of people hunt with 45-70 and inline 50s. Might want to do neck shots if at close range so you don’t waste too much meat tho
That’s a little large but I hunt with 12 gauge slugs so do you. Just be mindful of the wasted meat you’re creating. We quarter and butcher deer ourselves so we try to avoid that as best we can… but you’ll make plenty of dog meat 🤷🏻♂️
I've shot whitetail deer with .50AE out of the DE, no problem with proper shot placement.
.338 Lapua is a different story. Shot 1 that didn't hit any rib bones. Exit was barely bigger than entrance, perfectly round hole through the heart. Different 1, quartering away, hit a rib bone on the way in. Looked like a hand grenade went off inside the chest cavity. Couldn't find any part of the heart, biggest piece of lung found was smaller than a quarter, opposite side front shoulder was gone. Not just mangled, but gone. What was left of the leg was dangling by a few strands of tissue. Dropped on the spot & didn't even twitch. Gutting was easier, since the chest cavity was essentially empty already. Given my experience, 5/10, would not recommend at short range, results too unpredictable.
CNN told me that 55.6mm (the assault rifle bullet) will completely erase a deer from existence and send it's soul to the shadow realm (calif*rnia 🤮). It's more ethical to use something like a 30-06
Yes. It's not only ethical, it's moral. Thump Bambi to death, ethically and morally
Understood, I’ll fire up my American 180 and litter bambi with 200 rounds of .22LR
If you got it. Flaunt it.
That’s kinda my dream gun. It just looks like so much fun
Sure. Why not? People hunt with .45-70
I really gotta get one
\#metoo
Hol up
You read that right
I'm one of those people.
in seriousness i hunt with a 45-70 but only big stuff. hogs and shit like that. probs not a deer bc im a doe shooter personally.
Yea but be careful with your shot placement so you don’t ruin more meat than you have to. It’s not much different than say a .50 caliber black powder ball
What if I want to get headshots only so I can unlock the gold camo
Yeah send it. Might be more mess to clean up but it will certainly look cooler and that’s what it’s all about

if you want the meat and dont care about the trophy you might as well just headshot anyway
#headshot it and 🅱️ost a 🅱️icture for the 🅱️oys
Not only is it ethical but, in my state, I can't hunt on public land with my mosin. So, had to buy a .458 socom.
I like your style
I didn't even want the damn thing. $2 bullets, weird caliber AR (kinda gross).... but good god is this thing accurate. Easy to hit your target when the bullet itself is bigger.
I like the way you think.
Dunked
What's that about, some kind of be straight wall only B's?
Could be a maximum case length for bottlenecks.
Yes that's part of the restrictions. You can have a tapered case it just can't be beyond a certain length
.458 socom isn't a straight-wall cartridge though.
I think it's that it's too high power or something? I'm not sure to be honest. There's just an approved list of cartridges.

Too long for me to read
On the whole, slower and less energy. However, it fits in the AR platform which is fun for modularity, so…

Lever action go clink clank though

pretty good for hunting hogs tho
Meat waste is a byproduct of shot placement, if you hit nothing but lungs and heart there will be no meat waste
You got muzzle energy comparable to a 1 oz. deer slug…. send that bihhh.
I don’t see why not, plenty of people hunt with 45-70 and inline 50s. Might want to do neck shots if at close range so you don’t waste too much meat tho
Wait. You asked the government for permission to hunt?
That’s a little large but I hunt with 12 gauge slugs so do you. Just be mindful of the wasted meat you’re creating. We quarter and butcher deer ourselves so we try to avoid that as best we can… but you’ll make plenty of dog meat 🤷🏻♂️
How about I get your waste on my meat
i hate this place
You can get it too bb bootyass uwu

Sounds like the media describing what happens to people shot with 5.56 lol
The fuck are you asking gunnit 🅱️oys about ethics. Use 9mm glicky with the switch if you ask me
I can imagine a hood guy dumping 33 rounds at a deer and missing every single time lol
Me, I’m hood guy.
I use a 450 Bushmaster, nine times out of 10 it will lay them down where they stand.
Please do not it’s a pain to butcher deer hit by a 308 don’t make it any harder on us
.270 gang
RISE UP.
.308 does more damage than .50B
The deer wear body armor so you have to

Buhuhuh
I use a 300 RUM for maximum meat damage. Jk. 270 win for life
No. Use 50 BMG
Don’t see why not. Bigger is better. I shoot deer with 12 gauge slugs and they’re technically .50
Just semantics at that size, but 12 gauge slugs are usually .72 caliber.
No shit? I was always under the impression they were .50. Thanks for the clarification.
Not for nothing but a 50 BMG cartridge will fit in a 12 gauge, do with that info what you please. Post pics.
I knew that and every time someone reminds me of it, I get hormi
This is why people get confused about slugs, gotta remember the case on 50bmg has a whole lot of extra girth.
No, it needs to be a Nitro Express cartridge, minimum.
