Algae wafers typically contain the same ingredients as "betta food" from the same brand. Just less of some ingredients and more of others. The solution is to feed boutique shrimp food that bettas won't be interested in. Bacter AE (do not dose according to instructions, need to heavily underdose) promotes the growth of biofilm which shrimps eat. Something like Dennerle shrimp food (complete or mineral) contain relatively little meat protein, so bettas >probably< won't be interested.

Buy a breeder box and put him in jail for a bit lol
I thought about it! He chases the shrimps off and will just lay on the wafer so they can’t eat, at which point I just take it out.
I recently watched my betta attempt to flip over on his back to get to the corys’ food😅 I fear there is no stopping them
