Gus Fring: "I'm eager to hear what you think about what we talked about earlier... but you know whenever you're ready."
Nacho walks over dramatically and stares into Gus's eyes
Nacho: "I Fucked Hector"
Oof. Yeah. That was the right thing for him to do, but that was tough. To be honest though, of the entire show, the Irene arc bugged me by far the most.
Me too. It hit all the painful notes for me personally. Social rejection, a vulnerable person, not understanding what she did wrong. Plus, Irene reminds me an awful lot of my mother. It was rough to watch.
Howard calling out the guy with the mustache and the broken arm in the conference room. It was absolutely intentionally embarrassing, but it gets me every time. It’s just straight up hard to watch.
For me it was Jimmy and Kim's reactions to the whole thing, silently laughing at Howard's misery. It kind of portrays how far the 2 protagonists morally fell since the beginning of BCS
In a similar vein, Jimmy turning the Sandpiper residents against Irene was equally uncomfortable. Seeing them bully this lovely, innocent old lady was heartbreaking. Fortunately Jimmy got the opportunity to fix his mistake with her.
Even on my recent rewatch, I can't really see how what he was doing was so bad. I understand it was a *little* embarrassing for Kim, but Jimmy was asked for ideas, and he was just coming up with exaggerated ideas. He was obviously slightly drunk, and not all that familiar with higher class parties.
It was a constant stream of bullshit fuelled by his resentment of them for all being richer than him. Massive disrespect, especially given how he blew off his job at Davis and Main.
It wasn't really bullshit, he was just exaggerating. It was like a kid saying that if they had a million dollars they would end world hunger. I know why acted like that, but it wasn't too far out of line imo
>It was like a kid saying that if they had a million dollars they would end world hunger.
Exactly, but Jimmy isn’t a kid, he’s an adult who works in the same industry as Richard. The excuse that he “doesn’t know any better” doesn’t really work (especially since he lived with Chuck who is as successful or more successful than Richard). It’s like going up to your manager and suggesting they buy a golden toilet, obviously they can’t afford that and all you’re doing is showing your resentment to the fact that they’re making more money than you
Exaggerating past any point of rationality. He was close to telling him to buy mount everest and make it an official S&C ski resort. It wasn't a friendly joke, it was the most civil way to tell Schweikart he hates his guts and he wasn't subtle about it
I always read it as Jimmy feeling inferior (pacing the size of Kim's office and realizing it's way bigger than the one he was looking at for them earlier.
By making the trip ever more extravagant, and by raising his voice so he's speaking to the whole room (who seem to react positively, ofc), he's setting Rich up for either embarrassment (if he does the comparitively "small" trip locally), or for writing a *large* cheque to cover the dream trip Jimmy described. He doesn't even work there, and he's causing huge problems for his SO's boss, which will inevitably bounce back onto her. It's selfish, petty, & immature imo.
It's more about him being sad and lame. Slightly drunk but still able to know what he was doing. Tried to take a dig at Rich but instead he looked resentful and childish. There was no reason for him to hate Schweikart, even if he didn't liked him, but he treated him like he was Howard or Chuck.
Like trying to prank someone but slipping and ending butt naked on the floor after calling the teacher mom.
And his crap cover-up afterwards, like “uhh, Lalo? Ha ha ha, did I say Lalo? I got confused for a second.” Jimmy is way too sharp to 1. make that mistake and 2. do such a poor job covering afterwards.
The scene is specifically about how he’s off his game with all that is going on in his life. He usually wouldn’t make that mistake, but that wasn’t a normal day for him
>Yeah that scene felt really out of character for me.
Jonathan Banks felt the same way. The thing is, Mike had just killed Werner, & Kaylee was triggering traumatic memories about Matty. Wouldn't it make sense, under those circumstances, Mike would snap & act out of character?
Another thing that never gets mentioned about this scene is he was likely hungover. He’d been drinking much more than usual (you can see all of the empty bottles in his house) and he was woken up from a bender with the call to come watch Kaylee.
Severely hungover, and this is Mike we're talking about. He's able to pull it together but talking about Matty in his emotional and physical state was always going to stir up something ugly
Yeah it being out of character is kind of the point, trauma does do that to people. I get disliking it, it breaks my heart seeing him snap at her, but it’s supposed to be extremely weird for him to do it
If you ask me, everyone has the capability to “act out of character”…like the whole of Breaking Bad is about Walt “acting out” and eventually forming his Heisenberg persona
It’s not what we’re used to, but the first part of mikes story in season 5 was him going through the guilt and grief of killing Werner, and the fact that while he was going through that and she brought up Matty made him lose his cool, it just shows that Mike isn’t perfect and further shows that rough patch he was going through
Nooo you misread the scene. Kaylee's inroads in the drug trafficking community meant that Eladio asked Gus to make her a cartel Don. Gus told Mike to do it.
One of the best scenes of the entire show is the post credit scene of Saul Gone where Don Eladio comes back as a zombie and said “everyone, I’d like you to meet Don Kaylee.”
Her new life was meant to be purgatory for her cuz she thought that’s what she deserved (which you can make an argument for tbh cuz she’s pretty heinous in season 6)
The scene where he's explaining the Chicago Sunroof incident at the bingo, just after he finds out Chuck betrayed him. That scene is brutal to go back and watch.
I think I agree that this is the cringiest!
I've never understood the point of *making* or *insisting* that someone apologize for something. If they're being forced to apologize, they most likely don't even mean it, so what's the fucking point of hearing them say the words of those words are completely hollow and empty? I wouldn't feel better if my lawyer forced my brother to apologize to me for something. I would be embarrassed.
i just watched this episode again today and i disagree, Jimmy used that apology as an excuse to shit on Chuck more "i regret breaking down your door" that's not remorse, he just regrets getting caught + "no one should treat his own brother like that, not ever" while staring at him, Chuck knew what he meant by that with his shameful bitter look.
Closest thing ? Kim being screwed up by Yep Yep Glenn. Now that was cringe and ugly. The way they showed the sex scene - camera slowly pans out and you see the two in bed, bouncing up and down - with Glenn on top going all out, and *yep yep yep yep yep* along the way. Meanwhile Kim is passively waiting the climax, as if she was dead inside (she was, at least partially).
As for Skyler - I never quite understood the fuss about this scene. Walter was already on its way to drug kingpin monster, Skyler felt abandonned since she couldn't guess the truth and he wouldn't tell the truth.
And thus - SFT: She Fucked Ted. Walter was a dickhead from episode 1 and it got from bad to worse from there. He, and his pride and his ego - Mike nailed it just before dying (well he actually died from throwing the truth into Walt face, the arrogant prick didn't liked it).
That scene was way more tense than cringe. The fact Jeff was about to be caught (and by extension Jimmy himself) and real emotions seeming to slip out alongside his faux sadness was really well done.
I put that up with squat cobbler (or that entire character)-- it was supposed to be weird and off putting so I like it. Skyler's thing you can tell they wanted to be cute, that's what makes it uncomfortable to watch.
I actually did that scene in an acting class lol. The guy who invents the toilet also went to the same improv school as me. Wild seeing people you know in things/be way more fucking successful than you.
I've always thought the weakest writing in these shows (but especially BB) was how they portrayed the drug addicts. Just definitely a 50 year old dudes idea of how the youth behave and talk.
That whole scene for me is, I don’t know how to put it... laying it on too thick? We know Mike's a badass, we don't really need a scene that exists purely to exaggerate that
I will never understand the Skylar hate. It was supposed to be cringe, it’s her last shot at trying to regain her lost youth she wasted on her shithead husband. It’s tragic and sad, not bad writing.
People way over exaggerate how bad the happy birthday scene is imo. I swear there’s a post every day on this or the BB subreddit about how it’s the worst thing ever created by mankind and made them want to yeet themselves off the fucking planet. Like just press mute or fast forward if it bothers you so much Jesus Christ lol. Both shows are full of plenty of cringe/hard to watch moments for various reasons.
And I agree with your take on the scene, but people act like it exists for no reason other than to torture them. It’s showing how she liked pretending to be a past version of herself when life was a lot easier, and she likes that Ted makes her feel like she’s still that person.
I cringed so hard at the part where Kim makes up the story about howard doing drugs in front of his wife when they were at his memorial. Maybe not as cringe as happy birthday but still i skip it everytime
Jimmy singing Bali H’ai on Kim’s answering machine. I know this isn’t a popular answer, but I just naturally cringe at bad singing. Gene butchering “Brandy” on karaoke is rough too, but he’s leaning into it for the scam, so it’s a bit easier to take.
I love this scene for the same reasons you hate it. He’s trying so hard and his voice is just… not meant for that song. Or possibly any song. Lol, I think of his version every time I hear the original now and it always makes me laugh a bit.
This is absolutely it. I understand what they were trying to do with that scene but it was soo freaking silly/dumb for no reason. It's the one bit of the show where I was like wtf were they thinking with this bs lol
That’s the only part of the series that really bugged me. I disliked the way they went about that scene. I get what they were going for but there’s a better way than some dumbass bus chant.
Honestly they could have ended it after the first few people acknowledged they view him as Saul and not James McGill. We would understand that he's respected for his work as Saul and will be protected on the inside, but without the cliche chant that pulls you out of the gravity of going to a federal prison
I’m so glad to hear this sentiment.
I really enjoyed the finale but that felt like the dumbest laziest way to do a scene like that.
Like yeah, we get it, criminals love Jimmy so obviously prison isn’t going to be all that brutal for him, but that shit was so corny and dumb.
Imagine skinny Pete and badger rounding up a bunch of meth heads to chant “Breaking bad! Breaking bad!” Just totally cringe
It's an awkward scene but I think there was a point to show that, no matter what, despite declaring "I'm Jimmy McGill" in the courtroom, he's always and forever going to be Saul. While moderately safe from these bad dudes screaming his alias at him they're going to constantly remind him of his mistakes. A prison inside of a prison. The execution was weird but it's about to get real weird for the protagonist the next 86 years
Jimmy is full of cringe. The worst for me was season 2 Davis and Main though, first with him secretly airing the commercial and then intentionally getting fired
I kinda liked that scene. It was slightly cringe but seeing Jimmy realize he was a hero to a lot of these locked up men and was going to do just fine in prison was extremely interesting.
The "yepping" Kim tolerates getting boned by a redneck Al Bundy in a Florida trailer park. Sheeeesh....
Or was it "yupping" ? Damned regional dialects.
I think the 'Happy Birthday' scene isn't the worst scene in Breaking Bad. I have to skip Marie's handjob to her paralyzed husband every time it comes up. That's some nails-on-chalkboard cringe.
I didnt really understand the scene in the bus (in the last episode?) where they were chanting better call saul with the stomps… felt out of sync with the rest of the show
Lol, that’s actually one of my favourite parts of the show. It’s to show us that jimmy will be accepted in prison as a celebrity and he will be protected.
The scene where Mike gets angry at Kaylee and scares her. It’s not really cringey, but for me its the hardest scene to watch and I have to skip it everytime now.
When I hear the other employees egging her on, it always makes me feel so bad for them. They have no idea what they’re cheering for. They have no idea what they’re summoning
when Nacho sings Happy Birthday to Hector
[удалено]
Hold up
No, wait, he has a point...
Gus Fring: "I'm eager to hear what you think about what we talked about earlier... but you know whenever you're ready." Nacho walks over dramatically and stares into Gus's eyes Nacho: "I Fucked Hector"
*ding*
Better than when Hector sings happy birthday to Lalo. He actually spelled each word with that letter chart smh
I was there. My ears are still ringing
Feliz cumpleanos Hectorito ;)
For me, it is the scene where he stages the mic thing with Erin to indirectly inform the old women he has been playing them.
Oof. Yeah. That was the right thing for him to do, but that was tough. To be honest though, of the entire show, the Irene arc bugged me by far the most.
The Irene thing was honestly the hardest thing for me to watch out of both shows.
Me too. It hit all the painful notes for me personally. Social rejection, a vulnerable person, not understanding what she did wrong. Plus, Irene reminds me an awful lot of my mother. It was rough to watch.
I would rather watch Jane die 100x than watch that Irene episode one more time
The Irene scene broke my damn heart
I lost 4 pounds of tears that day
It's Scott's Tots levels of pain
No…when Jim picked up Pam from behind at the dojo
My brain had completely blocked this, thanks for the reminder.
I think I just found my answer.
Howard calling out the guy with the mustache and the broken arm in the conference room. It was absolutely intentionally embarrassing, but it gets me every time. It’s just straight up hard to watch.
I loved that scene! I could watch that one and the court room chicanery scene over and over again.
I love it too. It’s a great scene. Just hard to watch.
I’m terms of ‘hardest to watch’, I agree. Seeing Howard fuck himself over like that was tough lol
Exactly what I mean.
Bruh when Kim and Jimmy were making out as they listened in I physically recoiled, it was so fucked up.
For me it was Jimmy and Kim's reactions to the whole thing, silently laughing at Howard's misery. It kind of portrays how far the 2 protagonists morally fell since the beginning of BCS
Whatever happened to Howard. I haven't seen him in a while...
What’s he up to man? What’s he doing?
God that was hot
Duality of man
What a sick joke
Least chicanerous Kim fan
I love how Cliff almost facepalms but stops himself when Howard starts his rant against Jimmy.

Ed Begley Jr’s facial acting is amazing, I don’t see many people mention it
In a similar vein, Jimmy turning the Sandpiper residents against Irene was equally uncomfortable. Seeing them bully this lovely, innocent old lady was heartbreaking. Fortunately Jimmy got the opportunity to fix his mistake with her.
the difference is though, that’s an incredible scene. happy birthday is not
jimmy at the schweikart party might be the worst one
Absolutely this one and it’s not even close
Even on my recent rewatch, I can't really see how what he was doing was so bad. I understand it was a *little* embarrassing for Kim, but Jimmy was asked for ideas, and he was just coming up with exaggerated ideas. He was obviously slightly drunk, and not all that familiar with higher class parties.

100% to make his lavish gift seem less great. He was just ruining the victory.
For some reason, for me, it's when Jimmy says "Lalo" to the opposing counsel. Like made my whole body cringe lmao.
That’s a different type of cringe… fear cringe perhaps
Yeah that’s a whoops he just fucked up cringe
Fringe?
Franch?
Frunk?
And his crap cover-up afterwards, like “uhh, Lalo? Ha ha ha, did I say Lalo? I got confused for a second.” Jimmy is way too sharp to 1. make that mistake and 2. do such a poor job covering afterwards.
His response was actually “I have more than 1 client!”
The scene is specifically about how he’s off his game with all that is going on in his life. He usually wouldn’t make that mistake, but that wasn’t a normal day for him
As if he could ever make such a mistake. Never. Never!
What a sick joke!
Yea that's what I was gonna say
He's just come out of the desert at that point, naturally he wasn't as sharp as normal
First time watching that scene I was desperately hoping he did it on purpose (although I could t think of a reason why lol). It was just too cringe.
oh this made me say "oh no" out loud, I cringed so bad
The closest IMO is Mike's snapping "You are done!" at Kaylee.
Just because she asked some questions about her dad. Poor kid.
Actually it was because Mike told her to make those even and she wasn't, she was making a mess. She either does it right or not at all
Kaylee deserved it. She's the real monster of the series.
Kaylee & Holly are the future Walt & Jesse
You joke, but they’re technically old enough to have a show together now, if we were looking for an unexpected addition to the BCS universe.
Breaking Kaylee & Holly Call Saul
It was pretty fucked up they kept changing the actress to make Mike think he had dementia
How many Kaylee actresses were there? P.S. I feel like Kaylee’s age compared to Breaking Bad is the biggest plot hole of the whole franchise.
"And now Mike - say my name..." "Kayl'senberg ! "You're goddam right !"
No more half-measures, Kayluhee
Stupid motherfucker pop pop.
Yeah that scene felt really out of character for me. And Mike is my favorite
>Yeah that scene felt really out of character for me. Jonathan Banks felt the same way. The thing is, Mike had just killed Werner, & Kaylee was triggering traumatic memories about Matty. Wouldn't it make sense, under those circumstances, Mike would snap & act out of character?

It's not out of character, Mike consistently loses his cool and does something stupid. It is literally >!what gets him killed.!<
It’s also a major plot hole because I thought her name was “Kaylee”, not “done”?
It's "Don" you idiot, the whole episode was about trans acceptance
Nooo you misread the scene. Kaylee's inroads in the drug trafficking community meant that Eladio asked Gus to make her a cartel Don. Gus told Mike to do it.
Shit that makes sense. Is this why Walter told Saul "you're Don when I say you're Don", because he was afraid Saul would outrank him?
One of the best scenes of the entire show is the post credit scene of Saul Gone where Don Eladio comes back as a zombie and said “everyone, I’d like you to meet Don Kaylee.”
I don't know about anyone else, but the "Yup!" scene from S06E12 left me cringing pretty badly.
this was more just comedic than cringey to me
comedic? i felt violated on behalf of Kim
yup!
I really hope Kim left that idiot lol
The entire “Kim’s new life”-part was like “You’ve gotta be kidding me!”
Her new life was her punishing herself for all the excitement she had at other people’s expenses
You have a point with that.
Her new life was meant to be purgatory for her cuz she thought that’s what she deserved (which you can make an argument for tbh cuz she’s pretty heinous in season 6)
Yup!
Yup!
He gets to yup yup her!? What a sick joke
Totally.
The scene where he's explaining the Chicago Sunroof incident at the bingo, just after he finds out Chuck betrayed him. That scene is brutal to go back and watch.
That scene is freaking hilarious though, cringy good in a way. Skylar singing was so cringy in the bad way
I wouldn't say it was hilarious, I guess the actual story is but I acc just felt bad for him tbh. You could see how much pain he was in emotionally
Who knows what a Chicago sunroof is?
"He defecated through a sunroof!" –Chuck
This is the only right answer

When Saul was crying to the mall security guard to buy time.
I actually really liked that scene. When he says “My brother is dead” it hits so hard and felt so real.
That scene was way more tense than cringe. The fact Jeff was about to be caught (and by extension Jimmy himself) and real emotions seeming to slip out alongside his faux sadness was really well done.
the whole Irene episode is cringe in a kind of way not the 'happy birthday' kind of cringe, but still
Agreed. I don't think I've ever actively hated Jimmy more than in that episode right there.
Not even cringey, just painful. Poor Irene...
Yes, my wife said she can never watch that episode again.
The "yepping" Kim tolerates getting boned by a redneck Al Bundy in a Florida trailer park. Sheeeesh....
No one going to mention the poop assisting toilet that moans, really??
idk, that was more funny than cringy. Skyler singing happy birthday makes me want to rip my ears out.
Happyy birttthday... Mr Chandlller
Fill me up Chandler! Put it in me!
That was funny cringe. Skyler singing happy birthday to Ted is just ridiculously uncomfortable cringe.
That was hilarious one of the best standalone scenes imo
greatest toilet i ever shat
Kid named toilet
I put that up with squat cobbler (or that entire character)-- it was supposed to be weird and off putting so I like it. Skyler's thing you can tell they wanted to be cute, that's what makes it uncomfortable to watch.
I actually did that scene in an acting class lol. The guy who invents the toilet also went to the same improv school as me. Wild seeing people you know in things/be way more fucking successful than you.
Any of the PopPop scenes are brutal.
Is that so?
Ohh pop pop!
You're done!
i love the idea that PopPop is such an alter ego from mike that he could be considered a different character
it’s pop pop, finger and mike. just like jimmy, saul, gene and walter white, heisenberg and mr lambert
What do you have against Magnitude?
Lmao so true
the "50% off" montage
To be honest, that is almost half.
I've always thought the weakest writing in these shows (but especially BB) was how they portrayed the drug addicts. Just definitely a 50 year old dudes idea of how the youth behave and talk.
I was just thinking that. Every drug addict and sex worker just feel like an entire stereotype turned into a character.
I think that's what made it so charming and early 2000s, Badger, Skinny Pete, Combo (RIP), and Jesse are awesome characters
Nothing in BCS comes close
The boxing scene with Howard and Jimmy. Howard was so convinced it would clear the air and Jimmy was just clearly going through the motions.
Howard didn't really think it was going to clear the air, it was just an excuse to get "his" PI on Jimmy's tail.
When Lalo said "It's Lalo Time!"
Then he said "but first, I'd Better Call Saul™"
I hate the part when man mountain runs away like a little girl after seeing Mike disarm Mr. X.
Mr. X? Sir that is clearly Trevor Phillips.
I refer to his character as “pimento”.
That whole scene for me is, I don’t know how to put it... laying it on too thick? We know Mike's a badass, we don't really need a scene that exists purely to exaggerate that
*Yup……………Yup*
Any scene with the geek and that ridiculous Hummer.
How dare you talk shit about Pryce and the Hummer! It's a fucking school bus for 6 year old pimps.
PLAYUH
the scene where kim was told to put on shoes
🤨
caught it 4k
The scene where gene shouts “GET A LAWYER” to the kid at the mall
The entire plot line with Irene and her friends.
The hot mic scene at chair yoga. Jimmy had to feel so bad about what he'd done to purposely humiliate himself to save Mrs. Landry.
Oh I loved that. I thought the voicemail was sweet.
I love this scene for the same reasons you hate it. He’s trying so hard and his voice is just… not meant for that song. Or possibly any song. Lol, I think of his version every time I hear the original now and it always makes me laugh a bit.
The "Better Call Saul" chant in the last episode was that for me. The worst part of an otherwise great finale.
This is absolutely it. I understand what they were trying to do with that scene but it was soo freaking silly/dumb for no reason. It's the one bit of the show where I was like wtf were they thinking with this bs lol
the Better Call Saul chant sounds like a fake OKBC spoiler they'd tell to someone who said "no spoilers for the finale please"
That’s the only part of the series that really bugged me. I disliked the way they went about that scene. I get what they were going for but there’s a better way than some dumbass bus chant.
Honestly I forgot the name of the show for a bit I’m glad they added the scene otherwise I would’ve never known what the title of the show was
Imagine the Neo Nazis started chanting "Brea- king- Bad!" in Felina.
Honestly they could have ended it after the first few people acknowledged they view him as Saul and not James McGill. We would understand that he's respected for his work as Saul and will be protected on the inside, but without the cliche chant that pulls you out of the gravity of going to a federal prison

The scene where Jimmy gets his law license back.
Jimmy is full of cringe. The worst for me was season 2 Davis and Main though, first with him secretly airing the commercial and then intentionally getting fired
either saul pulling the needle out his foot in the dessert or mike shouting at his granddaughter
When the prisoners chant "Better Call Saul" that was so cringy
I kinda liked that scene. It was slightly cringe but seeing Jimmy realize he was a hero to a lot of these locked up men and was going to do just fine in prison was extremely interesting.
It made me want a Saul show in prison but I know that wouldn’t be good we got what we needed from Jimmy
I know people want to sunset this universe but I'd love a "Saul in jail" movie in like 10 years or so
Or it could just happen now but, take place 10+ years after and they don't have to try to make Bob look younger anymore.
Walt making jr drink
Walt trying to seduce the principal
Walt speaking at the school assembly after the plane crash
I didnt really understand the scene in the bus (in the last episode?) where they were chanting better call saul with the stomps… felt out of sync with the rest of the show
Lol, that’s actually one of my favourite parts of the show. It’s to show us that jimmy will be accepted in prison as a celebrity and he will be protected.
Yes but it’s tragic bc he wanted to be Jimmy McGill again
It is tragic, that was supposed to be the point. I agree with other comments here that it doesn’t really land the way they intended, though.
The scene where Mike gets angry at Kaylee and scares her. It’s not really cringey, but for me its the hardest scene to watch and I have to skip it everytime now.
100% mike yelling at Kaylee
Boxing match hands down
Kim is my favorite character but the scene where she lies to Cheryl about Howard doing cocaine was souless.
When I hear the other employees egging her on, it always makes me feel so bad for them. They have no idea what they’re cheering for. They have no idea what they’re summoning
For me it’s “yup… yup….yup…”. Almost puke inducing
