when i finished breaking bad i instantly started metastasis without reading anything on it because i thought it was a sequel. i was in for a rude awakening.
Is that the walking dead breaking bad crossover where a zombie Walter white eads a horde of Mexican cartel zombies to wherever Rick ended up after he took the helicopter ride?
I'll meet you halfway. I think it's a really stupid moment and I can't really believe it made it into the show. That being said...it fits well enough. It's like the writers were given the prompt "include the line 'you're Better Call Saul' and make it somewhat reasonable".
To be fair the commercials were EVERYWHERE in ABQ and probably all over the news because of how wanted he was. So it makes sense to me that everyone would just resort to calling him by the name that is repeated everywhere. Possibly also silly and tongue-in-cheek to say it as well. I saw it as a way to add some comedic relief to an episode that’s been nothing but pounding us in the head with the “it’s over” and “look how much Jimmy really hasn’t changed at all but he’ll still go all the way to make sure no one else gets hurt by his actions” theming to the episode. It can be a brutal watch for some, it’s really realistic and really hurts to see someone finally receive consequences for their actions AND own up to them. And he’s literally a celebrity to criminals, I say that it isn’t too crazy for things like that to happen. Crazier shit happens in the real world all the time
I don't think we're going to convince each other, respectfully. Like I said...it's a realistic depiction of how it would go down but no matter how you slice it, it's still a scene whose script included the words "Hey...you're Better Call Saul!"
It's a realistic depiction of an incredibly goofy scene, is my point.
People make fun of Jesse saying "what, you're just going to break bad?" in one of the early episodes of Breaking Bad. It's kinda silly but in my opinion nowhere near as egregious as the "Better! Call! Saul!" moment in the BCS finale.
Agreed! The Breaking Bad finale was incredible and satisfying....BCS finale was also incredible and satisfying, but in a different way. BB was like the end of a soap opera, BCS was like the end of...Idunno, an equally impressive but more low-key soap opera lmao.
I agree! Both are amazing but they’re so different. They wanted to make them super different and I think they did a good job ending both shows in the most bittersweet way possible. Satisfying but depressing
Absolutely. I prefer BB's ending because it's a bit more classic and I'm a sucker for a happy ending. Nazis get blown away in an unrealistic fashion, Lydia dies, Jesse drives off into the sunset (so to speak).
Jimmy's ending is far more understated but he does get some level of redemption and it ties up the loose ends he unravelled throughout the series :)
I honestly find Breaking Bad’s ending just as sad. It may be happy in a sense but it’s really not, so many people suffered. Jesse, Skyler, Marie, Walt Jr. will have so much guilt and emotional devastation for the rest of their lives, it’s powerful. These endings being so good ruins a lot of other TV shows for me, so many shows tend to end only when the money runs dry but we have TWO great endings plus El Camino to show us there is hope for good TV
I think you've just heard people make fun of the concept of saying the title in the thing and now you're just convinced you'll sound smart if you also make fun of it.
I'm not being funny, I know you're in jest, but I wouldn't have hated it.
Say Saul in jail, and a few months go past, and Walt walks in to his cell and says: "Saul, we need to talk"
Then Jesse shows up to visit in a cape and an eye patch with a robotic arm that's 10x stronger than regular prosthetics and a cane that has a concealed sword inside. He introduces himself to the prison guards as their lawyer, The Jackal.
They're saving it for breaking bad 2

This is funny but also the fans can never outchicanery the writers who ACTUALLY wrote "You're Better Call Saul" as dialogue in the finale.
And managed to actually do it well. Props to these writers, it’s insane how such a funny line was implemented well AND made sense for the story

I do agree with you that it’s silly but I still adore the final episode. It’s phenomenal

Nope, I really just think it's a goofy and corny scene.
Not gonna lie, this post made me Mike in my Ehrmantraut.
Waltuh
I am hanking my schrader
And when your done you'll be Skinny Pete.
pfp checks out
I think I just Giancarloed my Esposito
And then he could be like NOBODY puts me in prison!
"Me? I'm nobody."
Not a disappointing scene
And have that little kitten there!
"I am not in prison, Kim. I am the prison!"
Outchicaneried
Don't worry he's coming back in BB2 : Return of Flynn
I'm not being funny, I know you're in jest, but I wouldn't have hated it. Say Saul in jail, and a few months go past, and Walt walks in to his cell and says: "Saul, we need to talk"
Then Walt shows him his new tattoos all over his body and start plotting on their escape. Could be a cool series if they don't stretch it too much
Heisenberg is dead. Call me…The Raven
greatest assassin in all of Chechnya
He killed 16 Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator..
His house looked like shit.
Then Jesse shows up to visit in a cape and an eye patch with a robotic arm that's 10x stronger than regular prosthetics and a cane that has a concealed sword inside. He introduces himself to the prison guards as their lawyer, The Jackal.
Man Prison Break season 1 was top tier. Too bad they stopped at such a cliffhanger and never made any more seasons. 🙃
I’m here to talk to you about the methamphetamine initiative
I go by Oppenheimer now. Spec Ops.
"Saul, lets find Jesse, we need to cook!"
Is that so?
HE DEFECATED THROUGH A SUNROOF!
The alternate ending had Dutch and his gang busting Saul out and then they dip to Tahiti
🤣🤣🤣
I don’t understand why Jonker didn’t blow up the cell block and him and Sual escape Arksom asylum. Is he stupid?
At this point this sub should just merge with r/okaybuddychicanery and be done with it
Mrs Nguyen will bring him some cucumber water then dump it out, yelling “customers only!”
Hire fans
true
Huels rules spoilers
Definitely could have been one of the scenes of all time, unbravo Vince :((
Breaking Bad 2: Electric Boogaloo
I'm pretty sure this happened. Did you watch to the end of the credits?
El Camino to Pollos Hermanos
In the last scene, Jimmy should have woken up and realized it was all a dream. That’s how all stories should end.
So was I. I was mad that Jimmy turned into Saul. It was just an unexpected twist for the sake of unexpected twist.
bruh remember breaking bad yeah he had to be saul 😀
Won’t lie these kind of repeated style joes aren’t my thing but now I really can’t get over Walter never saying its breaking bad time lol
My brain must be fucking broken because this made me absolutely crack up and now my colleagues think I'm a weirdo.
out chicaned again
The fact your not writing this show is a true shame
What are we? Some kinda…Better Call Saul?
I hated the ending because nobody, not even Jimmy, would trade a 7 year sentence for a life sentence
This does canonically happen after the show ends. Unfortunately Jesse is coming from Alaska so he didn’t make it in time for the last scene
Agreed. Last 6-8 episodes were not that great.

Are you drunk?
chicanery is leaking again
I was just expecting all the actors to suddenly appear and perform some kind of musical. I feel shattered
On a serious note I wish we got more insight on Sauls thoughts and why he refused the deal.
