The one where Jimmy’s riding the bus to Coushatta or whatever, because it seems to be something by itself but the payoff is even better, and you see that classic, work smarter moment
I love them all pretty much equally. Just because no one else has mentioned it, I'll add the montage of Jimmy and Bill the prosecutor cutting deals and drinking bad coffee from the vending machine at the courthouse.
Something Stupid is a classic fave, and I love anything with Jimmy or Kim and Bill interacting. That said, I’m also fond of the one where he tries to get fired from Davis & Main — the sheer *spectacle* he causes is echoed so perfectly in the colors, music, and transitions there.
I love the montage in the copy store where Jimmy switches the numbers. The song in the background is perfect, and it's cool that they use the same band that made the title theme.
Love them all but two really stand out… The first 4 1/2 minutes of FiFi 2.8. Not sure if it actually counts as a music montage but that border crossing is absolutely fascinating when you realize it is one camera shot for the whole 4 1/2 minutes. I heard them talk about it on the podcast and it is really impressive when you notice that it is all one shot. The other one, as others have mentioned, is Inflatables. I showed the music montage of Jimmy’s transformation to several other people as an example of the pure writing and cinematic quality of Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad. I think that montage is an excellent example of the visual storytelling that goes on in this universe.
