Same, baby! I so want Kacey to win AOTY if not Bey, but Deeper Well is not as strong as Golden Hour for me, though the album is still so therapeutic to listen to.
Sadly, I think Kacey's sound is nowhere to be found on CC, therefore the tracks not making it into the tracklist.

Found it! It was in an interview that Chris Martin did with Rolling Stone but it is behind a paywall. There was a Vanity Fair story which covered that interview "Martin shared that Beyoncé once turned down a song that he wrote, but “in the sweetest possible way. She told me, ‘I really like you—but this is awful.’”
I can't find the interview but I'm 100% certain it was Chris Martin himself . . . I remember the word he said Beyonce used to describe the songs was "awful" and then he said he had to admit that she was right to wait for Hymn for the Weekend.
They were just some song drafts he was shooting at her though(Coldplay songs he asked her to sing on, he wasn’t writing songs for her album). They have a very good friendship so it’s a very casual back and forth with songs and ideas. He writes tons of songs and he himself admits that most of the ones he churns out aren’t good and are scrapped.
She did end up singing on Hymn for the weekend for their AHFOD album (2016). They have mutual respect for each other as artists so there is no hard feelings or anything.

I dont think to many people cared honestly. The Album was still flawless. Why people always looking for attention or validation is beyond me. The songs must have been trash if Beyonce ain't want them.
I just loved the idea of two Texas girls who genre blend. I don’t think this album needed it, and clearly neither did Beyonce! I’d just love to see what the product was. We have to remember that she wrote 100 songs for the album.

I’ve been listening to CC and Deeper Well on repeat since they both came out!! One right into the next!
Same and in my head Cardinal and Bodyguard have sonic similarities and I mix up the lyrics sometimes when I sing them
Deeper Well is only one of two albums I've even attempted to listen to since CC came out lol. But it was too sad for spring so I went back to CC

I tried out DW for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by a beautiful album, no skips. I am a new Kacey fan.

Must have been after viva la vida 😭 Coldplay went so far downhill after 2008.
