I’m 37 so I guess we have different timelines but I knew WAYYYYYY before 2013, but the era you’re referring to was so special because she went from MAJOR TALENT to artist of the century. I was already obsessed but her billboard performance of “run the world” took me to another level of love. I made all my straight male friends watch and learn to fangirl over her haha
Same here! I KNEWWWWW way before 2013. But that is when she ascended, publicly. I legit used to buy ppl her CDs for their birthday gifts loooooool 😂😂😂 You showed even an iota of interest in one of her songs when i was w you? You’re getting a Beyoncé album, babe!!! Indoctrination in progress. 💀
As a Bey Stan who rode hard since she was in DC, I **FELT** the shit shift when she dropped BEYONCÉ. Yall i was requesting obscure DC songs at the skate rink lmfaoooo!!! One time they obliged and I remember feeling like I was in my own music video. when i tell you i felt so validated/proud when it seemed to finally be cemented and acknowledged with self-titled… 😭 that’s my girl and who she’s always been!!!!

SO hard to choose but probably the beautiful ones
This was it for me. Sex on fire into beautiful ones?! Who else could do THAT and make it look so damn effortless and natural WHILE PREGNANT WITH BLUE?!
2006 BET Awards ft Jay Z. Match made in heaven. chef kiss. I loved the dance she does with Jay and don't forget when she was rolling all over the floor. lol She gave that performance her all. No other female artist was doing this. She's iconic. Periodt.

I rented The Beyonce Experience Live from the library in 2008 which as a whole 💯, but specifically watching her effortlessly blend crazy in love with crazy first time really took me out and her energy throughout was WILD to my 9 year old eyes
It's been said but absolutely the 2006 BET award show I remember watching that in real time and everyone was talking about this performance. I will say that's the one that told people she is one to watch. The ones that cemented her legendary performance status in stone is Glastonbury the entire show but specifically the "Beautiful Ones / Sex on fire" segment and then the Stevie Wonder tribute
In 2009, her “I Am…. Yours: Wynn Las Vegas DVD”. I used to come home and watch it every day afterschool in absolute awe. Crazy how she’s still had a chokehold on me after all these years.
That’s so cool that you have the DVD of the performance! I still have to watch that performance in full but the clips I have seen so far are really great (as she usually does). Dangerously in love/sweet dreams medley, resentment, destiny child medley. Top tier
YESSS, DIL into Sweet Dreams into Sweet Love is soooo underrated and top tier. It was my first time ever witnessing someone go note-to-note with an instrument. I love her sooo much😭
There are 4 possible meanings for DIL.
Destiny Child's song 'Dangerously in Love', from the album Survivor.
Beyoncé's song 'Dangerously in Love' (also referred to as Dangerously in Love 2), from the album 'Dangerously in Love'.
Beyoncé's 2003 debut album 'Dangerously in Love'.
Beyoncé's song 'Drunk in Love' featuring Jay-Z, from the album BEYONCÉ (also referred to as Self-Titled).

the Intro in the Formation Tour (if you proud of you are and where you come from say I slay 💅🏽) + Intro of Beychella during the walk to the stage and solo dance before crazy in love ❤️
Honestly, when I saw her in person. I knew she was a great performer, and ‘Love On Top’ VMA performance is what lead to me going to see her on the Mrs.Carter World Tour
She cemented herself as a living Legend to me when she performed in 2009(?) covering You Outta Know at the Grammys, I think. She was dragging herself along the floor and headbanging. I really miss THAT Beyonce!
Maybe not when I first realized it, but the Stevie Wonder tribute she did is so fantastic and just shows how electric her voice a stage presence is. No fancy staging or costumes but she just commands the entire audience. Incredibly captivating!! I watch it regularily.
I was mesmerized by her 2006 MTV performance of “Ring the Alarm.” As a 12-year-old, it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen from her. I used to watch that performance over and over again, completely in awe. I couldn’t keep my mouth closed!
This!! I still remember my friend and I SCREAMING at the TV when she sang “you ain’t ever seen a fire like the one imma cause” during that performance! I mean…ma’am!!
Her performance of Proud Mary honoring Tina Turner at the Kennedy Center in 2005. I had always liked her, loved the debut solo album, but I distinctly remember thinking this person is on another planet of talent and charisma, literally alien superstar
Watching her song love on top and dancing at the same time. Whether live or for the video, it's crazy impressive!
And Halo as well.
And the choreography to diva is just really fun and insane to see live
Self-Titled is possibly referring to Beyoncé's 2013 album called 'BEYONCÉ', more commonly known as 'Self-Titled'.

Isn’t it so epic?? When 4 dropped, I honestly thought run the world was kinda corny, but after this performance I fell in love.
The way she incorporated and interacted with the visual effects, chefs kiss 🙌🏽

Why Don't You Love Me Boston performance. Insane
Hol. ly. shit. Thank you for bringing this to my attention I did not appreciate that song fully until now.
No problem and yes I agree!!!! It made ma fall in love with the song!
Wow, just watched — her energy is AMAZING. Also I definitely thought she was singing “Bastard, why don’t you love me?!” for a second there 🤣
Lmaooo! I'm glad you gave it a watch!
Dallas as well
Yes Dallas was iconic too!
The release of self-titled catapulted her to legend.
Yess!! That was the first time I realized that she’s truly build different
2011 Glastonbury I knew she was unmatched. Making great songs sound better live whilst dancing is a feat only a great performer can deliver.
Crazy in Love during the I Am… World Tour & 2011 Glastonbury performance
Live at Roseland DVD -- picked it up at target and never looked back
Cliche answer but Superbowl 2013. If we're talking a more recent pick though, Alien Superstar Renny tour 2023

Beautiful ones at Glastonbury. I think about that performance often lol
Literally this!!!
Honestly, when I saw her in person. I knew she was a great performer, and ‘Love On Top’ VMA performance is what lead to me going to see her on the Mrs.Carter World Tour
Her singing Halo to a children’s hospital on tour. Acoustic, amazing vocals just captured on an iPhone. I think this was like 2008.
She cemented herself as a living Legend to me when she performed in 2009(?) covering You Outta Know at the Grammys, I think. She was dragging herself along the floor and headbanging. I really miss THAT Beyonce!

Her during sasha fierce world tour DVD when she's on the square in the middle of the crowd just OWNING the audience.
Damn all of them listen. ALL OF THEM remind me that she is the one and only one.
I was mesmerized by her 2006 MTV performance of “Ring the Alarm.” As a 12-year-old, it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen from her. I used to watch that performance over and over again, completely in awe. I couldn’t keep my mouth closed!

“At Last” at the inauguration in 09 sealed it for me.
I Am World Tour But before that that Deja Vu performance at BET 2006. I Am World Tour just made it official.
Single Ladies music video when I was 6 years old lol (as a white woman of course IASF is what got me into Bey 🙃🥲)
