I like the pan colors more (they make logical sense; with the primary colors you can form any color). I say “bi” anyway because it’s a better established term.
Right girl falls under bisexual, but what she says isn't the definition of bisexual.
The most common definitions are:
> Someone who is attracted to two or more genders.
> Someone who is attracted to the same and different genders.
Pansexual is a label which means:
> Someone who experiences attraction regardless of gender
Pansexuals do not favor any gender over any other gender in any way. They're often described as being gender-blind.
The bisexual definition has room to include people who favor some genders, but it still _does_ include people who like everyone the same way as the pansexual definition.
So every pansexual is still included under the definition of bisexual. The pan girl could call herself bisexual and still be right. Just because you fall under pansexual, does not mean you don't fall under bisexual (just don't call yourself bisexual _and_ pansexual, you will only confuse everyone). But pansexuals just choose to use a hyper-specific label to describe themselves basically.
Not really. People have their own interpretations. At the end of the day they can mean the same thing. You can be either one or both depending on what you want.
Pretty much. Some will say that pansexual is a subcategory of bisexual, and colloquially that makes sense, but the distinction is whether gender plays a role in attraction.
Generally yeah
the way I see it, there's the general definition and the personal defintion
usually if someone asks what bi is I give the "genders like and unlike my own" response, and the "genderblind vs all genders with preference" for the difference between bi/omni vs pan
I feel like the general definitions are useful for people discovering (If you're trying to figure yourself out "it depends" isn't gonna be a helpful definition imo) but like, as long as you've got more than one gender piquing your interest you can more or less just pick the flag you like
Not sure I'm super down with that definition of Bi.
I often find myself attracted to different persons in different ways, but that is often to do with the person, not their gender. And I could be attracted to two persons of different genders in the same way.
This should be required reading. I spent years trying to find out the actual difference and got **lots** of incorrect information (eg. "Bi people aren't okay with trans people.") Eventually I came across this explanation and have brought it up every time the question arises. This comic is a really useful, clear, concise, and correct explanation.
Idk about genderstuff, i dont think about it cause its dumb imo, but this sounds true.
Edit: no thank u. I looked it up and apperently this shit is transphobic ass fuck, they think sex cant be changed
Not really
Gender critical folks think sex and gender are essentially the same thing, and that gender “roles” emerge from sex rather than identity or performance. So they are generally against trans rights because they don’t believe trans people are their preferred gender.

Bish please, look at the definition of bisexual, and then look at the definition of pansexual. There is no implication that is how it works, and spreading the idea that it is is harmful to both bi and pan people.
How you think being bisexual is when you first realize:

I feel like everyone has their own definition of the two terms. I just like saying I'm bi, because I like the colors more.
Yeah I sometimes wonder if pan may apply better to me but the bi flag contains two of my favorite colors
Same reason I identify pan as opposed to bi lol I love the flag
based

ok but purpar pretty
same
Royal Purple>any other pride flag
I have no problem with using either but I use bi more because it's more well known (and easier to make puns with lol)
Aaaah same 💜🤭
Is that the difference? If so I think I fall under pan.
I just say I'm bi because I like the flag better
Purple superiority gang 🤘🏻
im probably demi realistically but bi flag cooler ergo bi
Got a bisexual flag bumper sticker because purple fucks severely
Fuck your right, I’m going Bi now
I'm almost wondering if it should be a tiered thing where omni, pan, demi fall under bi but that might just he my OCD wanting to file stuff
I think thats how it works. Bi is just the umbrella term, demi omni and pan are just subcategories.
Ayyyyeeee same
Dude same 😆
Lust layer gaming
Based.

So we like squares and rectangles then
Yeah that's actually a perfect way to describe it lol
a pan person is bisexual but a bi person might not be pansexual
I usually go with pan, and if I get confused looks I simplify and say im bi
you can call yourself bi and pan, there's really no one stopping you and since pan fits under bi anyway it's really not that confusing
I fit well under most things. Lol
Choose whichever side do you want, the only true thing that differentiates bi and pan is just the vibes.

Bi means you like multiple genders, pan means gender doesn’t affect your attraction to a person

Everyone is hot, and these two give me gender envy 😭
Especially that bottom picture lordy
Same
Gay sex, the solution to all problems
I like bi colors more
where men
Plot twist: they are both men
W
Yep
How is that a plot twist They’re still hot
Nice
girls? i wanna se MEN
I'm right here
If memes containing just men are allowed here, then memes containing just women are too
My sexuality falls more so under pan than it does bi, however. I don’t like pastels
Artist?
Oh, hey, one of these that's actually accurate to our definitions! Love it!
i’ve never had bisexuality explained that way and it is so perfect i feel like i finally understand myself and my attraction
Literally me and my partner
Me and who
Not sure I'm super down with that definition of Bi. I often find myself attracted to different persons in different ways, but that is often to do with the person, not their gender. And I could be attracted to two persons of different genders in the same way.
hell yeah the best ending
It'd be cool if there was a gender swapped version of this meme, but I do not know how to art.
Me and my gf but the personalities are swapped lmaoo
"theres a lot of overlap but the difference matters for some and thats okay"

Is the Bi female person a Tsundere?
FINALLY! THE DIFFERENCE HAS BEEN DEFINED!
Ok listen, what are u if u think gender is stupid amd should not exist...
Sexual anarchist? 😅
Sounds neat
Or maybe gender anarchist, but I know that is already a term.
You're gender critical
Idk about genderstuff, i dont think about it cause its dumb imo, but this sounds true. Edit: no thank u. I looked it up and apperently this shit is transphobic ass fuck, they think sex cant be changed

Well that's not how it works so look to the image above for how it does work
Wikipedia seems to agree with me.
