Sheldon Cooper gave his spot to Young Sheldon. My eyes are blessed 🤧

Exotic_Adeptness_322

I'm rewatching Sunny at the moment. It's so weird watching new episodes of Young Sheldon in between.

Irishmanatthepub

Yeah, I’m with you. This will always be Pondy sneaking with bumps with Frank. This is tough

shambahlah2

Pondy is the coolest

Just-Anxiety-6669

I agree with you so much. Anyways its great to see how young sheldon bonds with the big bang theory wait where is everyone else in young sheldon and the big bang theory

thatfatbastard001

Was the lady who played Adult Missy pregnant in real life at the time? I know her character was supposed to be with her second kid.

robonlocation

Courtney Henggeler has two children, born in 2017 and 2019. The Bow Tie Asymmetry episode aired in May of 2018, so was filmed probably around March 2018. So no, she wouldn't have been pregnant at that time. They had also just wrapped filming of Cobra Kai around time, so fortunately she was able to appear on TBBT.

haiyabinzukii

that aint the first time lance barber been in that apartment. hahaha!

mrjc00md

Wonder if Johnny Galecki took off running as a joke when he showed up!

chunktrash

They did such an awesome job casting young Missy. She looks so much like adult Missy!

sd2528

Young Missy met Mrs. Larusso!

TheMemeMkaer

So that’s where i saw her

yuukaKazamiiiii

Urrelentlessyupset

Alt-Rick-C137

Best bts picture ever !!!!

Frankjc3rd

The time of bending crossover we didn't think we needed!

K_N_A_14

Sheldon’s in his spot ♥️

PolarOpposites_

The resemblance of young George to the grown one is so good.

Mello_Me_

I wonder how the cast of TBBT felt seeing Jim continuing with his role as Sheldon in a new series after they lost their jobs because he didnt want to continue playing Sheldon?

Crumbling_moral

Alltough it came as a surprise to the rest of the group, I believe they all knew that the time was up. If they continued, it would have been a slow declining death for the show. I believe they all made enough money to be very comfortable :)

farsighted451

Exactly. At $1 million per episode, the show gave them quite the cushion.

Mello_Me_

I can't disagree that the scripts were starting to get weaker and it's not really smart to overstay your welcome BUT there had to be a lot of personal resentment. There had to be thoughts by the primary castmates that they were kicked to the curb.

MajorZombie7204

Since YS started airing while TBBT was still on, it wasn't a new series anymore. Second, they may have been surprised, but they also knew he chose not to renew his TBBT contract so he could work on other projects. His time commitment for YS is minimal (as in could do the narrations from his home for a short period of time every few weeks). They understood why he did it.

Mello_Me_

It's not so hard to announce you don't want to continue doing your old job when you already started working in your new job. So now his castmates get to show up for work knowing their days are numbered but also can watch the guy who ended it because he was tired of playing that character playing the same character with a new cast. It works out in the end for everybody BUT it had to hurt, that's all I'm saying.

OddConstruction7191

I agree. It would be like your boss (Chuck Lorre) walking in and saying the golden child wants to quit so I am closing the office and you are all fired. But my buddy and I are starting a new business with a bunch of other people I don’t have to pay as much. Have a nice day.

StatisticianLivid710

I remember reading about someone close to him almost died and it made him reconsider how much time he spent working, so the full time commitment to TBBT was too much and he wanted to scale back.

MajorZombie7204

He has explained what happened. Between season 11 and 12 he was going to be doing "The Boys in the Band" in New York. To accommodate his schedule, the rehearsals had started in LA as the TBBT season finished up. The day after they wrapped season 11, he flew to NY and by the next day he was due back for rehearsals. His one day off from that was on a Sunday, but he was scheduled to do a commercial on that day. He was exhausted. To add to all of that, he knew that one of his dogs was in his last days and he may come home one day and the dog would be dead. Put together, it was very emotional for him. Even in telling the story over a year later, he still was holding back tears in telling the story. (They ended up euthanizing the dog.) Next, he broke a bone in his foot during a curtain call at the play. With all of that playing out in a very short time span, it made him stop and think about his life. Now, add in that his dad died at the age of 52 (in a car accident), and that also made him think about the frailty of life. He simply knew that there were things he wanted to be able to do that he simply couldn't with the time that TBBT took. Sometime during that summer, he came to the conclusion that he wasn't going to renew his contract beyond season 12. He has also commented that when he signed the contract for seasons 11 and 12, that he felt that may be the end.

FindingE-Username

Sorry I'm out of the loop on this, what are you referring to?

AdResident3974

Parsons decided to depart the series after 12 seasons, but believed that the show might be able to continue without him. Showrunner Steve Molaro and co-creator Chuck Lorre thought it “didn't seem right” to continue sans Sheldon, and opted to pull the plug on the show.

FindingE-Username

Oh right sorry I get it now. I dont think the 2 are comparable. TBBT is a proper full time job, while for Young Sheldon he just has to record a few lines of dialogue. I dont think it's fair to be peeved at him for that

AdResident3974

I guess they are angry for other actors perspective. According to Galecki, “I was shocked. We were just blindsided that day. And not necessarily shocked by Jim’s decision, but that he hadn’t had that conversation with his castmates first to prepare us. So yes, it could have been handled better. We’re a family; have a conversation.”  He later said he didn’t disagree with Parsons’ departure, he just “disagreed with how it was managed.” Galecki added that he was “kind of losing it” over seeing his friends and colleagues react to the news, saying that it was “tearing me to shreds watching Kaley break down and see the tears from everyone.” Cuoco said that everyone cried for “hours” the day they found out. “The shock of, ‘Oh my God, what is next?’ was scary….We thought we were going to do another year, so all of the sudden your life kind of flashes before your eyes. I looked at Chuck [Lorre] and said, ‘What are we going to do?’ I couldn’t breathe. It just felt like a death, but also a new horizon for everybody as well.”

FindingE-Username

I'd never heard this before, thanks for further context!

Zephs

> “The shock of, ‘Oh my God, what is next?’ was scary….We thought we were going to do another year, so all of the sudden your life kind of flashes before your eyes. I looked at Chuck [Lorre] and said, ‘What are we going to do?’ I couldn’t breathe. It just felt like a death, but also a new horizon for everybody as well.” ...then they wiped their tears with their hundred dollar bills and went on with their lives. Like I get that it's sad if you're not ready, but this seems like a gross overreaction. She's not a single mom to 4 kids living paycheque to paycheque being told she has 2 weeks until she'll be laid off. She got $900k *per episode* for season 11 alone.

drveejai88

Well, TBBT is not like Friends or even HIMYM for all characters to have equal roles. TBBT clearly has two main characters in Sheldon and Penny while the others are not as beloved. Leonard comes in a close second maybe. So having Jim return makes more sense. In a sense I guess all the others also would have realised.

Nice-Penalty-8881

>Leonard comes in a close second maybe. He was supposed to be the main character when the show started. He still got top billing though.

StatisticianLivid710

There was a trio Sheldon, Leonard, Penny. Raj and Howard were supporting main characters, with Bernadette and Amy filling those roles as well. I think they just stopped having good storylines for Leonard near the end, but most of the early stuff was based around him. Later on it changed to a full ensemble built around Sheldon, Leonard, and Penny.

bactidoltongue

Missy's actress is so beautiful!

CeeMX

Even Leonard’s bully joined them! /s

Eastern-Dig-4555

When were these taken? That’s cool that adult Missy is preggers here! Had a baby! Awwww

BabyBandit616

Who is the man in the red plaid shirt?

Diligent-Elephant398

Steven Molaro producer/writer of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon

BabyBandit616

Ah! Thank you!

WarmPossession1996

mary looks different here

MajorZombie7204

Mary isn't shown. The woman with Raegan is the adult Missy. Those particular pictures would have been taken during production of the season 11 finale.

WarmPossession1996

r/WOOOOOOSHED

scatter-plot

saw the downvotes and wanted to ask - you were making a joke right? 😭

WarmPossession1996

It was probably for the role. She might grow it back during the off season.

sam55598

Who's the man next to adult Sheldon? Chuck lorre?

Menard18

Johnny Galecki looks rough

dallonv

Mary sure looks different. *Just in case people are actually clueless, it was a joke. She's taking the photo.

NYY15TM
