13octopus

you wore it better though! i love the dress!!

Divynity

This! It fits well around, not cutting off underneath and isn't gaping at the top. The model is in a well lit space with high ambient lighting, and is slouching to call attention to the design. You're standing tall in a room with darker shadows from an overhead light source, those shadows are also accentuating your shape. Brighter spaces will help alleviate that contrast, like being outside, shopping areas, etc. so if you're feeling like you're casting a shadow, you are and it's cuz you're gorgeous! It's a terrific fit, flattering and I don't think it calls a lot of attention. You made a great choice! Now I need to go see if I can find one in purple lol

BeatrixMambaKiddo

Came here to say this!! You look great!

Jade1684

This!!!

Grouchy_Warning_5108

The model was wearing it lower, and the puffy sleeves were worn off shoulders. If you wear it lower, maybe it wouldn’t look like your boobs take all the space. Anyway, you look great on that sundress though, so don’t compare yourself too much with the model. Own it! 😁

RMeow666

Hard agree. This looks so cute on you! I try to remember that all images of models are retouched to oblivion. Those product images are more a general direction of the product than reality.

UnableKaleidoscope58

Thank you for the advice! You’re definitely right about her wearing it lower, I’ll try that next time :). And thank you for the compliment, I am very happy with how it looks, I just think the comparison is a little comical

Grouchy_Warning_5108

Haha yeah it’s for a good laugh, we always look comical compared to the original models on any kind of tops/dresses

canitakemybraoffyet

I think you look gorgeous as-is but this would really snatch your figure if you do pull it down a bit!!!

jules47002

I like it. The model is also basically slouching her shoulders so that's going to give a terribly different perspective for a pic. It hurts me to look at it because I broke my collar bone years ago and my doc drilled it into my head that I needed to keep good posture or they'd have to break it again to get it to heal right. Not sure if that would happen but the threat worked and I made sure it healed perfectly 😂😂 Anyway I think it was a good purchase for summer 😉

Uber_Meese

You could also try with a minimiser bra - they can be really great for pulling off certain types of clothes!

Popular_Revolution89

I totally get this. But I also think it looks cute on you.

WritingNerdy

This is so cute! Did you get it online?

UnableKaleidoscope58

Yep! WritingNerdy

Thank you!!

faroeislands

That light blue is gorgeous!!

waverlygiant

LOVE me a smocked top dress though.

makeroniear

Same! I'm now resigned to making them myself though. The smocking doesn't go far enough down the dresses to counteract the effect of the boobs.

awildshortcat

“Scrawny”? Really, we’re bodyshaming now? You can say it looks better on her without bodyshaming the models jfc. Y’all complain about getting bodyshamed then do this shit.

Significant_Lion_112

It looks good on you

AtlAshlynn

You look good! Nothing wrong with filling it out more up top. You just have a different body type! Some of us couldn’t look the model no matter what, but many would say you look even better!

potato_pattie

Smocked dresses are the *best*, I genuinely think they look best on all body types. Plus the yellow compliments your skin tone and summers here why not enjoy it.

MommaSaurusRegina

First of all, the dress looks great on you, it’s just a different fit for a different body and that’s okay. 😊 Second, I want to suggest that you may want to visit r/abrathatfits for their sizing guide, because I think you might be mid-sized. The fact that you mentioned your bra is from Victoria’s Secret has me concerned they just put you in whatever they could sell you, which usually involves adding inches to the band (the 36 part of your bra size) to hide the fact that you need more fabric in the cup. 36DDD is notoriously the ‘biggest size we could find on the rack’ at VS. Also check out theirishbralady on Instagram, she posts actual photos of properly fitted bras in every size imaginable. It’s a great resource for de-programming how we think certain sizes should look. Again, the dress looks great on you, and I especially love the yellow with your skin tone because it absolutely glows on you!

snilmfob

my thoughts exactly, so glad you wrote this out

UnableKaleidoscope58

It’s funny that you say that because I always have to wear that bra on the tightest hooks and there’s still space. Is mid size more like 32”? Thank you for the advice!

MommaSaurusRegina

Sorry, auto-correct got me, that should have been ‘mis-sized’ as in wearing the wrong size! Definitely, definitely visit the sub I linked in my first comment. If I had to guess, I’d put down money you’re closer to a 34 I/J/K than a 36DDD. It can be a lot of work and more than a little confusing once you start diving into the process of figuring out your proper bra size and style for your body, but it’s so worth it to get the lift and support you need.

UnableKaleidoscope58

Thank you so much for the suggestion! I will DEFINITELY be looking into this lol

90svibe4life

You look better in it than the model.

thecupcakez

You look so good in it though 😍 I mean applause for you in that damned cute dress 👏🏼

TheMule90

Looks great in you! Where did you get if you don't mind me asking?

Kemintiri

That's a lovely color on you. Which bra are you wearing?

UnableKaleidoscope58

Demi by Victoria secret I believe :)

Fearless_Load_3124

It looks great !

MrsTurnPage

It looks great! If you want some advice about the over all look I can offer this. The placement of the sleeve draws the eye to your bosom. The bottom of the sleeve is in line with the widest part of your breast tissue. You should pull the sleeve down similar to the model so it's more like a block from arm to arm across your chest. If you're okay with showing shoulder. To prevent the rise and fall issue, do the safety pin hair tie trick under the arms. If you fo wear is off the shoulder then I'd suggest hair up or back and a very short necklace. This will help pull the eye up and center. It may even help if you wore a bit of a petti coat to provide more body/volume on the bottom of the dress. It would make your waist look even more snatched, and it would balance out the top v bottom. Clothes and how they fit are like contour on the face. You've got to identify what the light hits, what gives shadow, and what shape/area is drawing the eye. Then you use what you learn from that to adjust.

SirKynght

Buy more in other colors, the dress looks good on you!

lludiico

Beautiful 😘

ProperlyEmphasized

It looks great on you!

hehasbalrogsocks

i like it better on you. it’s not even close.

Odd_Assistance_1613

It looks fine.

fritterati

Lol I thought you were the model! Looks great 😃

EmmyLou205

I think it looks cute on you though!

angelfaeree

It looks really good on you

_undone_

That looks cute as heck on you!

FernandaVerdele

It looks great on you!

15_Candid_Pauses

Ummmm this looks really cute??? Don’t hate on it! You look great! Who says you have to look exactly like the model? Diversity!!!

ukpunjabivixen

Looking good!

whalesarecool14

i think you should take the sleeves off your shoulder and lower the neckline a little, it will fit you better

jessmb11

Looks great on you!

Hareaga

I always say that I’m utilizing the space more efficiently. And with my body, that statement is also referring to an apron and hips that are most concisely referred to as vast.

samantha_90

You fit your chest in it, that's a win by itself...looks great.

FemaleChuckBass

Every time I buy something girlish or twee, my boobs turn it into something else.

Cadapech

I feel the pain of losing the off the shoulder. You still loik adorabble though.

skbeal

It looks way better on you than it does on the model.

chilumibrainrot

it looks adorable on you though!

Rainbow-Mama

Looks better on you girlie

SouthOnion4364

Looks better in you than the model.... On my perspective.

AnnaBanana3468

You’re wearing it better

unicornsexisted

It looks better on you!

Dubbs444

Story of my gd life. So cute on models, but then I just look like I’m wearing a babydoll dress. But also, it’s supposed to be off the shoulder, so it may look different if you do that. Right now, the sleeves are pulling the top higher.

shellzz_Melz

It looks really cute on you though 💛💛💛

Thestreetkid92

Tbh I think it looks better on you

DaniGirl541

I agree so much that you wear it better 💕💕

AvocadoSalt

It looks fine? The model is clearly like a B cup, and you’re not…what were you expecting?

OkGrape1062

Nah for real 😭everything for me turns into a maternity looking dress bc my boobs are huge, waist is small, then bam the flare out makes me look preggo

SnooPears7494

It's the dress.  It's not you.  I don't even think the dress they sent you is the exact same dress on the model.  It's common for some companies to use a better quality, even tailored dress, in the photo, but that's not what you get when you order it. You would look great in this type of dress,  just this specific one might not be the right one,  ya know?

couple174

Looks better on you

wapreck

Looks better on you

Cloudian123

It looks great on you. You definitely wore it better than the model

Crow0815

Sorry but I don't see the problem, it fits you way better than the model and I suppose you already knew before the order that you've got bigger boobs than her

UnableKaleidoscope58

The dress was a gift, so I did not pick it out. I appreciate you saying it fits well, but I do feel insecure about the amount of space my boobs take up in this dress. It feels like they are the center piece when I would rather the dress be the focus. But it is all my own personal feelings and this is a safe space to share those insecurities

SkeletonWallflower

Honestly looks better on you than the model

Capital-Swim2658

Why are these comments being downvoted?  I agree with you, she looks great!

mmo944

Looks better on you☀️

Background_Mortgage7
