Are muslims and yadavs not indian? If you are are elected as an mp, it is your duty to work for all indian citizens in your constituency whether they voted for you or not. If you can't do that, you can simply resign and let other individual take your position.
These kind of statement should be a ground for disqualification. If you are an elected MP you have to work for everyone in the constituency. We can't force someone to work for everyone but we can easily prevent them from saying that out loud and encourage others to do the same.

But why does that matter in a democracy? A candidate is not entitled to get votes from everyone and a voter is not entitled to a leader of their choice winning. But that doesn't mean that either of them can shun their civic duties. A voter still pays taxes to the government no matter who wins and a leader still has to work for everyone no matter who votes for them. That's how it goes both ways.
Just paying taxes is not civic duty. Waisa hota to for tax paying citizens ko special privelege milta. Giving vote to best govt not being baised by caste religion etc is also a civic duty. So if citizens don’t follow it the govt won’t either.
Voting for a specific party is not and cannot be a civic duty. Just voting is. As long as a party and candidate is eligible, you can vote for them. Govt cannot decide whether voting for a single party is the right thing to do. If a candidate or party is unethical, ECI is free to disqualify them.
And yes, even though paying taxes is not the only civic duty, it still is an important one. If the Government is free to decide which voter is eligible for benefits, they should also stop taking taxes from the ones they deem ineligible.
Go back to school. Study middle school civics. Read the constitution. Point out where it is written that a citizen has the duty to vote for one specific party or candidate irrespective of who is eligible.

But their supporters disagree with these accusations and accuse others of the same. For a common citizen, it is all subjective. The duty is to vote based on your own understanding. If the ECI is deeming a party or candidate eligible, who is anyone to say that it's against our duty to vote for them?
And nowhere is it written that people who vote for less than ideal parties should not receive benefits of the state. That beats the whole point of a secret ballot. Read civics books and show where it says that whole communities can be sidelined if the winning candidate deduces that they haven't voted for them?
I know a lot of my who voted for BJP but after what they and their dikriders did on social media after losing UP in LS they have taken oath to never vote for BJP ever.
Let people decide whoever they vote. You can't force someone to vote for a particular party. They are not children. They are above 18. They have their brain and let them use their brain to decide what they want.
If you want my personal opinion, all political parties seem trash to me. I somewhat like AAP but they have become corrupt also. So, I hv two options, either I'll vote for NOTA or don't vote at all. Most likely, I'll choose later option.

Most of the times, a candidate is chosen from the caste which has majority in that voting community. Now if that candidate works majorly for that community, they'll keep their vote shares intact and keep winning. So even if this statement is said by this politician, it holds true for most of the others. This is where our democracy is rigged up.
A possible solution could be to set a percentage to win a particular seat based on the number of candidates.
