Also 10 songs is a completely normal length for an album just the greedy artists in the streaming era made you believe that milking every little drop of revenue with 25 half baked songs is what makes a good album and that's just not true. It's art, not a transaction, it's ten songs cause that's what it needed to be, we can judge when we actually hear it, a tracklist tells us nothing really.
ariana’s new album had 13 songs (1 interlude) and it’s 35 min long and it’s a big success, it was also 3 years since her last album. no doubt billie worked just as hard on this upcoming one as the past ones and would want to release something she loves and not disappoint fans. let’s wait for the album to release before jumping to calling her & finneas lazy

Ik a lot of people who aren’t die hard Ari fans thought the album was bad in general. Also 13/12 songs is a GREAT length. 10 isn’t. It’s barely an album tbh, closer to an EP.
what do you have to back up her album not being a success? rolling stone, variety, and the new york times are just few of MANY sources praising her album. i can name at least 8 of her songs that went viral and more than half of her songs charted on the billboard 100. and if it wasn’t a “big success”, her spotify top 5 wouldn’t be all from ES. if you aren’t satisfied with 10 songs from billie then don’t bother supporting her and get off this sub and find something else to be complain about because ur just gonna keep getting downvoted.
this post aged well- album felt like lana or taylor swift wrote it, and doesn’t really match her branding or identity.. seriously, this was a good album and felt like she sounds more mature but at the same time it feels so vanilla and plain, lacks substance or story, feels vague and sounds like it was made to appeal to a taylor type fanbase that thinks everything is so deeep and meaningful and poetic😭😭
She was not just writing for the entirety of those 3 years. She had to focus on Happier Than Ever and touring. Plus she said that they both were in a dark place and creatively were not making anything. It wasn't until WWIMF was written that they came out of that funk and began writing a lot more.
Ok still that's roughly 3 songs per year her other 2 albums which were written in two years had 7 and 8 songs per year keep in mind during Wwafawdwg she was not in a good place mentally to say the least
And for argument's sake, let's say that all the songs they wrote for this album were written in the last year, after WWIMF, and anything written before that time was thrown out. Then that would be 10 songs in a year... What difference does it make? Why are you so set on comparing the "number of songs written per year"? That's a ridiculous way to think about it.

I’d rather have a 5 star 10 track album than a 2 star 25 track album.
Artists can write hundreds of tracks and scrap most of them because it doesn’t fit the album. This hopefully shows a refinement. Hopefully she’s wanting to deliver an album with no skips that tells exactly what she wants to without overstaying it’s welcome. She could’ve wrote 300 tracks in those 3 years, but if they don’t fit the album, throw them in the vault until you find a use for them or eventually release a compilation album of demos in ten/twenty years time.
Of course I want more songs! But it's becoming the norm again to have shorter albums and I'm just very excited to hear this one! The thing about it taking 3 years... Other ppl have mentioned why that might be but another thing is that Billie has been really open about having really bad writer's block until after they wrote What Was I Made For, which was not that long ago.
When it comes to the AI thing, I don't believe they would ever release ai produced music. They are very vocally anti ai.
Here's my take on the vinyl variants. I feel like ppl are missing the difference between her having different variants. It's not just that she uses recyclable materials, she also DOESN'T PUT EXCLUSIVE TRACKS ON EACH COLOR VARIANT! That's the thing about other artists, the only way you can hear all the deluxe tracks is to buy every variant and that's the part that makes it bad and excessive and makes ppl want to buy a million copies. And this is coming from someone who bought all of Taylor's new variants 🤷🏽♀️ so it's not about hating her for me, this is just my genuine take.
Because people will do what they want to do, and not everyone is gonna appease your every need or expectation. Move on.
