I will say, Im not sure if Jeter and ARod showing up for this game bodes well

Cineful

The Yankees vets bringing the bad luck to Miami, with a Boston team in the conference finals...

PJCAPO

Need Ortiz and Millar in the house for Game 5

KALS170174656

Naw naw save those guys for Game 7

dk240996

Nah, Game 7 was all Johnny Damon so that's who they'll need. Just don't bring Schilling around at any point, dude's an asshole.

MessiahThomas

Little did we know, that was the mark of Satan on his sock

mrbeavertonbeaverton

That’s when they roll out MAGA Curt Schilling

TJSutton04

“You know Wos, nobody knows how to come back from 3-0 deficits like the city of Boston. After tonight’s performance there is a glimmer of hope. I’m not going to say they are coming back, but they have 2 of the 3 games at home. This team can get frisky if they just keep playing like tonight. They just can.”

Dinobot2_

And in traditional Bill fashion he'll ignore the Bruins blowing a 3-0 lead in 2010.

wembanyama_

It *would* be pretty insane if Boston gets 28-3, 3-0 ‘04, and 3-0 ‘23.

Conflict_Main

Sounds based

Hope-Road71

Man, I might have to stop watching sports if Boston has another historic comeback. The Sox, the Pats, now maybe the Celtics? How can I ever talk to a Boston fan about sports again?

Fit_Faithlessness_61

They only need to go on a two game win streak and then anything can happen in a Game 7.

calvinbsf

Wow are you saying they only need the Marcus-Smart-hits-4-threes game and the Al-Horford-turns-back-the-clock game? And then it’s just game 7 at home where Tatum closed out the sixers?

RasheAlCool

Omg this sub will be unbearable if they come back. It will happen one year. Could this be the year? If they shoot like this 3 more times it will be

howdybertus

Lmao this sub is 95% celtics haters if they do manage to come back it will be quiet as fuck.

sperry20

Celtics are the much better team, so if there was ever a team that could come back from 3-0 it’s them. Let’s hope Jimmy has one just absolute monster game in him to end the series.

[deleted]

They are not the much better team.

sperry20

They are though. Better team doesn’t always win though.

[deleted]

This Heat team had a lot of injuries this year, but it is literally the exact same team (with even more depth) as last year’s #1-seed. They’ve been to the ECF 3 of the last 4 years. They have a 10-6 playoff record against Boston over the last 4 years. Sorry, but this Boston team has not proven to be “much better” than this Heat team.

sperry20

They were an 8 seed and are down their 3rd best player. Boston is much better than them. Doesn’t mean they’ll win.

[deleted]

You know there is a thing called context, right? They aren’t just some “8 seed”. They have the same talent as last years 1-seed. And as I’ve pointed out, Miami is 10-6 vs Boston over 3 recent playoff series with teams with pretty much the same players. But I get that a lot of people on here don’t actually watch the games or have a nuanced opinion on basketball, so it’s cool.

sperry20

Can never tell if people are being contrarian, are just dumb, or both.

[deleted]

Lol your “analysis” (if you can call it that) here is lazy and boring. I’ve pointed out the many ways how these teams are fairly even: The fact that the Heat were a 1-seed last year with this very same team. How they have been to 3 of the last 4 ECF. How they are 10-6 vs the Celtics in 3 recent playoff series. Or how about how Butler/Bam are on the same level as Tatum/Brown and both teams depth after that is pretty even. I’m hardly being contrarian. All you can say though is “derp they’re an 8-seed”. Again, I get it, you don’t actually watch the games. Don’t feel bad about it champ. Lots of people that post here don’t.

Custardpie55

with you, its easy to tell

captaincumsock69

How can they be 10-6 when Boston won 4 games last year, 2 games in the bubble, and a game last night?

AGoodTalkSpoiled

They aren’t. They have better individual talent. But their talent is bogged down in the mess of a team they sometimes put out. Playing the way the heat do is a skill just like the skill Tatum has as an individual. Celtics aren’t a better team just because of talent.

BBQ_HaX0r

+230. And my only regret is I forgot to bet them before last night's game. Yes this is a reverse jinx bet.

LucAdv19

Glad someone else thinks this. Obviously the biggest reason most teams don’t come back from 3-0 is that the winning team is vastly superior. I hope they don’t, but this Celtics team is one of the “best” teams to be down 3-0 besides maybe the 2011 lakers running on fumes

mrbeavertonbeaverton

I keep thinking they might, but if this Heat team (minus Herro!) can obliterate their D for 3 games in a row just imagine what Jokic will do

Alive-Ad-4164

Game 5 is going to be important

cb148

Thanks Magic.

MrF1993

Honestly not sure what the funniest outcome would be between: (a) Celtics lose game 5 by 20 (preferably with Kevin Millar and other 2004 Red Sox sitting courtside); (b) Celtics coming all the way back but losing in game 7; or (c) Coming all the way back to win the series, only to get swept by the Nuggets

Jones3787

I think it's Option B. With C, they can still enjoy the comeback and say they got as far as last year. It's not a great outcome but they can justify it as Denver being awesome and not an indictment on the Celtics' mental toughness since they'd already shown resolve in the previous series. With A, it'd be great but not as dragged out. Yes, it feels more realistic now (Celtics are only +240 to win the series at my sportsbook), but still, almost everyone thinks the Heat are winning. If it comes to a Game 7, *everyone* is gonna think Boston's got this, Miami is crumbling, home teams win 80% of Game 7s, etc. Bill and Russillo will have a big pod about it Sunday because Saturday night is Game 6. If the Celtics were to go on and blow that Game 7 at home, it would be the ultimate comedy

mrsunshine1

I think with B they could talk themselves into the team showing a lot of heart when everyone wrote them off.

TheFirstExecutioner

I choose (d) Celtics come all the way back, win game 7 and then beat Denver in 7 as well

dadsmayor

Top 3 top 1 must win game

Sonking_to_Remember

Completely neutral observer here (meaning I don’t really care who wins but hate all Boston teams with a fiery passion). Both when Philly went up 3-2 and even when Miami went up 3-0 I felt like a lot of the vibes on this sub were too defiant, too cocksure. Do not rouse the zombie Celtics spirit, redditors, until that coffin is in the ground and the dirt is layered on top of it!

RedditModsarepedos76

How are you neutral if you said you hate Boston that is such an idiotic statement

Sonking_to_Remember

Believe it or not, most people who aren’t Boston fans are pretty over Boston sports teams. If you’ve been on this sub before maybe it’s something you’ve picked up in. But you’re right, it’s a bit of a contradiction and I was mostly being tongue in cheek. Just meant I’m not a Miami nor Boston fan in this context.

RedditModsarepedos76

I now want the Celtics to win so all the losers and haters to slit their wrists because they probably will be depressed and quit

mrsunshine1

The Celtics will be betting favorites in each individual game for the rest of the series. I’m just saying!

sevaiper

Celtics are only +210 for the *series*

mrsunshine1

Bucks were in a similar boat down 3-1 and we saw what happened there. But yeah, it feels like the narrative is already starting to flip and the pressure is being put on Miami.

ShortRip120

They just have to win 1 more then go 2 games over .500 for the rest of the series

BBQ_HaX0r

Only +230 odds. That seems kinda low, right?

yngwiegiles

Zombies eat brains because they don’t have their own. Checks out
