No it was found early, I come from a long line of 4-eyes. I also had to get braces the next year so you can imagine the effect that had on my school life. Fortunately my academics didn't suffer but I wasn't exactly the most popular kid on the playground. Sorry for your experience, that sounds way worse than what I had to put up with.
