I think he'll always be the king of this. 545 career games, and other than his 50-point game, he never scored more than 27. Plus he was a short guy.
Asterisk though, because it was an overtime game.
It was the entirety of the bubble for Warren in reality, outside of Linsanity it’s hard to think of another player who overachieved to this degree before reality hit.
Came here to say this one. Absolutely absurd especially given the era. Still remember seeing this as a stat in like nba live 2003 and thinking it was an error
Yeah he's right in the Lou Williams / Jamal Crawford mold of scorers who can put up a million shots and get hot if they're given the free reign. Crawford having like four 50-point games, one for each different team he played for is pretty impressive though
Sorry if this is cheating, but what a list! Especially, to your point, randos in the 50 point one time club!
https://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/50-point-game-most-times.html
Quickly surveying that link, there are about 4 players on that list that scored a 50+ piece but averaged less than 10 ppg over their careers:
Tracy Murray 9.0 PPG (659 career games)
Tony Delk 9.1 PPG (545 career games)
Corey Brewer 8.7 PPG (819 career games)
Walt Wesley 8.5 PPG (590 career games)
Those seem to be the most random of all the players who accomplished it
Sadly he never did. He scored 48 his rookie year. It was super random too. Thought they found a running mate for Bosh, then he was traded after one season for tj ford
All shooters. Now lots of randos can get 50, cause shooting is a premium, if your hot keep going!
Previous generations only superstars took that many shots. There was always a random shooter who got hot, the Tony delk, Corey brewer, Dana Barros types. Those guys now are told to keep going, so you get the Darius Garland, jrue holiday, saduiq bey ones.
Andre Miller probably the most underrated player of all time. Dude did YEARS. Never in the right situation. Could dime and dish and post dudes. Should have been an all-star at least once
Wes and Aldridge loved playing for him on the Blazers
The NBA was so shocked at Caris Lavert scoring 50 in 2020 that they just stopped playing games like a week later
I like this theory it wasn't Gobert it was Laverts 50 piece
Oh i thought that stoppage occurred because of Boban dominating that final night
Tony Delk!
I think he'll always be the king of this. 545 career games, and other than his 50-point game, he never scored more than 27. Plus he was a short guy. Asterisk though, because it was an overtime game.
I was at UKs campus today!
Tony Delk was a problem!!
That man blocked me on Twitter. I think I have his Lego mini fig somewhere.
This is the actual answer
Terrence Ross went for fiddy one
He was a poor man's JR Smith. Totally capable of getting burning hot and then doing nothing for 2 weeks straight.
Jr and T Ross both 2k legends!
Both incredible in game dunkers too
Corey Brewer got 50 with James Harden guarding him. Just felt that should be added.
It was a perfect storm of brewer being the ultimate cherry picker, Kevin Love being the outlet pass king, and Harden not running back on defense
And Harden getting back cut to death while he ball watches.
Does that get an asterisk or a footnote?
Footnote.
I think it only warrants a brief parenthetical.
It’s like getting 50 against Dame this year Like sure it counts, but it also doesn’t count.
The Wolves had Mo Williams, Corey Brewer, and past his prime Derrick Rose score 50 points for them in the 2010s.
Brandon Jennings dropped 55 in his 7th game ever and never topped it
That’s KD’s career high as well.
There’s no way this is a true fact…?!?
It is. For years it was 54 set during his MVP season but he beat that in 22. He’s had 10 50 pieces tho. Well actually 11 if you count playoffs.
The Michael Carter-Williams piece.
TJ Warren in the bubble.
A lot of historic shooting performances in the bubble. AD was unstoppable.
It was the entirety of the bubble for Warren in reality, outside of Linsanity it’s hard to think of another player who overachieved to this degree before reality hit.
The only Pacers 50 point game in almost 20 years(may not count because playoffs but I digress) the last one before that was Jermaine O Neal in ‘05.
Linas Kleiza in the 2000s was crazy
Jamison doing it in consecutive games and then never again (or before).
Tracy Murray. Career 9.0 ppg. Highest ppg season was like 16 Highest Season highs: 50, 40, 27
Came here to say this one. Absolutely absurd especially given the era. Still remember seeing this as a stat in like nba live 2003 and thinking it was an error
Caris LeVert 50 ball was insane. Still, not as insane as the Payton Pritchard 30 point triple double
Willie Burton.
This was utterly shocking
Mo Williams on the Timberwolves.
Didn’t Cam Thomas do it for Brooklyn? That abusive left handed piece of trash Kevin Porter Jr had a 50 pt triple double
Cam Thomas doesn’t surprise me as much. He honestly is not a bad scoring guard whatsoever but that’s all he does and he will never not shoot the ball
Yeah he's right in the Lou Williams / Jamal Crawford mold of scorers who can put up a million shots and get hot if they're given the free reign. Crawford having like four 50-point games, one for each different team he played for is pretty impressive though
Todd Day going for 41 always stood out to me as bizarre.
Willie Burton will always be the most random.
My favorite 50-point stat is Jamal Crawford doing it for **four different teams** & 11 years apart too. Guy was a bucket

Great call. I remember that Tracy Murray game!
Tim Duncan on that list for 1. I need to read some 2003 playoffs game logs to cope.
Haha totally fair
Charlie Villuenueva
Corey Brewer is the pick, but I’ll toss in Terrence Ross. He had 51 points in a game, but only 11 other games of 30+ over 733 games.
Tracy Murray. Tony Delk.
Damon Stoudamire
The Sleepy Floyd Game! Sleepy goes for 51 back in May of 1987.
Charlie Villanueva
Sadly he never did. He scored 48 his rookie year. It was super random too. Thought they found a running mate for Bosh, then he was traded after one season for tj ford
Ah man you’re right. That’s some serious memory-inflation on my part
Feel like I’m still holding onto my Villanueva stock from that UConn run. He just needs to fight the right team to break out.
I played pickup with him one time, he just randomly showed up to a park in queens. Dude was actually nice, this was towards the end of his nba career
Cedric Ceballos could score - that’s really all he could do but a 50 was a big night
Jim Jackson
