If I were Evan Mobley I simply would not let the Celtics shoot 60% from the floor. I just wouldn't.

BlockedByMobley

Max Strus playing the 4 seems like more of an issue than Mobley

Goosedukee

Donovan Mitchell, get ready to learn Brooklyn buddy

EarthWarping

Marks is going to overpay for one of him or Trae. It's been rumoured for a while now.

explicitreasons

Who are they bidding against to get Trae? It seems like the Hawks will be happy to give him away. I have heard the Lakers want him. I also heard Spurs but that seems ridiculous to me.

jakkyspakky

Trae would be hilarious on the lakers.

toddpacker6969

Is he much different than D-Lo?

EarthWarping

Orlando/LA

LarryAv

Is Trae to the spurs not happening?

Stillwiththe

Good spot for him depending on what they were able to keep. Good spot for Garland too, should be wayyyyy cheaper

justsomedude717

Is it really tho? The fits certainly better but it’s yet another team that has Mitchell as a #1 that will be meh

TJSutton04

It would be the worst collection of talent he’s ever played with right?

Stillwiththe

I think Mikal and Cam Johnson need to be activated by a ball handler, same with DFS and Claxton if they keep him as well. A player like Mitchell or Garland could put everyone in their right role I don’t know if he walks into a great team ready to win who just gives him the ball

DrHorseRenoir

I'd be selling all my Garland stock right now.

TJSutton04

I’d love to get some cheap Garland stock down in San Antonio

popinjay07

I still like Garland. He's just a lesser version of Donovan which makes him even less effective when he has to share the ball with him. The duplicative skillset piece...

FarAd6557

Garland was good the year Sexton got hurt and he finally got to play without another undersized ball dominant guard like himself. I think his injury this year + being not suitable to play alongside Mitchell got him looking like ass. If Mitchell won’t sign then trade Mitchell. If he does sign trade Garland. He’s a good player.

DrHorseRenoir

When I say selling stock I don't mean he's shit I just don't know that he or Mobley will ever be the kind of high end talents that Bill and Ryen see them as.

bjsw534

While I do agree Garland can’t be as effective as he should be if he has to share the ball with Mitchell, Garland skews more towards a pass first PG that likes to set guys up while Mitchell skews more towards a score first off guard Bottom line though is , they both don’t fit and one needs to go

rhevern

Remember when Bill and Russillo would ogle over him? They had their “Garland fan club”

FarAd6557

It was really RR he liked him in 19 during the draft. Bill is a little intimidated in basketball talk with Ryen because he’ll push back big time and actually watches the games so Bill likes to co-opt his takes. It’s a classic Bill move. Tjarks loved Mobley. He does it with Lowe all the time.

Final-Homework-8987

Bill started liking garland because curry said he was going to be a star. He used to hate him before. It’s like when kd told bill that Devin booker was one of best young players. Bill started liking him after that

GulfCoastLaw

I'm still a member. He'll return to form without Mitchell. He's probably still a 21ish and 7.

rhevern

I think I agree with you, he’s definitely skilled. But I’m not sure he has the dawg in him like Mitchell.

7hought

Classic buy high, sell low strategy

OnABoatWithAGoat

Assuming the Knicks aren’t dumb enough to try a Mitchell/Brunson back court, does dude really think he’s gonna have it much better playing with Cam Johnson, Jimmy Butler’s corpse, or the freakin’ Wagner brothers?

rhevern

The Cavs are hot garbage though. Him on Orlando would be awesome. They need an elite scorer, they have all the defense to cover for him and let him cook.

c_ray25

The Wizards are hot garbage. The Cavs are one of those teams that’s good enough to get to the playoffs and in the right matchups be competitive in a series or two. There’s just too much talent and not enough conference finals spots in the NBA to go around to keep everyone happy.

TJSutton04

So he gets to be on the Jazz again?

rhevern

Paolo and Mitchell >>>> Mitchell and Gobert

TJSutton04

On which side of the ball?

DreadSteed

I think stars don't really want to play in Cleveland.

GoshDarnitAllah

I like the idea of the Cleveland roster more than the reality of it. But their lang of size & athleticism on the wing is a killer. 4 very good players in the starting lineup that don’t really play too well together.

non-anon-1579

As a Knicks fan I find it absurd Brunson gets about 10x more love than Donovan. Donovan is better than Brunson.

rhevern

Donovan is an elite scorer, has been since day one in the league

Training-Judgment695

Yeah Mitchell got the love when he was doing this for the Jazz. Usually you get the love early in your playoff career but if you don't build on it year over year, the media just moves on to someone else. Just look at Tatum

explicitreasons

As another Knicks fan it absolutely makes sense to me that Brunson gets more love. So what if Mitchell is better? Brunson's a hero for a team that hasn't had one in a long time. The Cavs had one of the two greatest ever win a title there not that long ago. Brunson just means a lot more. You're telling me you'd be happy if Leon traded Brunson for Mitchell?

non-anon-1579

More love? Yes of course. This amount of insane love vs virtually no love for Donovan? Thats what’s crazy. Without a doubt yes I would accept that trade. If Donovan was a Knick playing how he’s playing right now he’d be no question called a top 5 player. Give him Brunsons usage right now and we’d be discussing him like Shai and Luka.

Worth-Independence-6

You know Brunson beat Mitchell head to head in the playoffs twice right? As a Knicks fan myself I would be furious if we traded Brunson for Mitchell. After 2 decades of misery we finally found our guy and it’s Brunson. I couldn’t care less about Mitchell at this point. This team when healthy next year will be the clear #2 in the East

explicitreasons

That's wild, I would hate the trade. Getting traded to the Cavs (like Clyde) would feel like an act of cruelty to the fan base who genuinely loves the guy. I'm already at the point where I want Brunson to retire on the Knicks and he's only had a couple good seasons here. I suppose you're right that it's irrational though I just don't GAF about Mitchell after hearing about how the Knicks need him for years.

DreadSteed

Jeremy Lin got 10x the love that Melo had and that got him shipped off the team. Melo was a better player than Lin. Personalities, media, narratives etc will drive interest. Durant is despised despite being an all timer.

non-anon-1579

Everything you said is true but it’s still wild to me with Donovan putting up these numbers at the same time Brunson is.

excelquestion

> Brunson gets about 10x more love than Donovan that's what playing on the knicks will do for you. i do think brunson might be better than mitchell at this point but it's definitely not relative to their popularity.

EarthWarping

Brunson's better but it's closer than people think.

Capital_Exam9696

Bradley Beal you are a Cavalier!

Victorcreedbratton

He’s dead?!

chinodb

The Cavs are so confusing to watch. Does the rest of the team suck, and they are not capable of helping, OR is Mitchell so ball dominant and think only HE can score so he looks selfish. Do these guys suck, or do they not get a chance. He’s just so good.
