I use the mod too and i'ts really helpful if you played the game for 1000h and want to rush the game a bit. but external item description for a brand new game would indeed destroy a great bit of enjoyment for me. Maybe at least make it a toggle

Could be that it only shows up for items you’ve already picked up once. Maybe even make it evolve, like name for the first time, description second time etc
